i also want to stress that they said this is the plan right now, but it could change next week after their meeting. so PLEASE don't think you got rejected if you don't hear anything next week, the lady i talked to (who was very nice) really stressed that this is their plan and probably going to happen, but it's not definite

This whole process is very strange and, in my opinion, impossible to decipher! Really hoping to hear back soon, Sinai's hands-down my top choice.

Ok, that is good to hear. I'd rather not push my interview out so late, but work is not being kind to me.
 
AHHHHHHHHH Interview Invite, interview scheduled for Nov. 18th (pretty soon, relatively speaking). Very excited, just my second interview invite, first out of state invite!

I got the 'complete' email on Sept. 15th. Pretty fast turn around, all told, as I'm still waiting on a lot of other schools which I applied to earlier.

complete email? this is the first such thing i've heard of for sinai.
 
It's why I put 'complete' in apostrophes...it wasn't really a complete email, just something saying they had received it, sent at the same the email was sent confirming my payment.

So it was a "received" email? Probably sent a couple days or so after you submitted it?

I'm pretty sure it was sent the same day that I sent in my application, because it was received the same day I paid. Your supplemental application was completed on 09/15/2009. We thank you for applying to Mount Sinai School of Medicine. We have attached a PDF of your application for you to print for your records. That is what the meat of the email said. Cheers.

ok, thanks, sounds like that's a received email, because Sinai doesn't send complete emails.
 
No Sinai doesn't send complete emails, you have to call them to see if you're complete.
 
Hey guys... For those that have already interviewed, is a 5 PM departure flight from Laguardia too early? It's the latest I can find and it seems to be about 30 minutes from the school by cab, which I should think is reasonable assuming a 2 PM ending time. Does it actually end at 2 PM?

It does end at 2PM. You should be fine.
 
I interview Friday and have yet to do get a host. For those who stayed with students, when were you notified?

I got my interview invite yesterday, sent an email confirmation and an email asking for accommodations just after, and have already received an email back confirming that I had a place to crash and the name of the student.

I think it's worth following up on, come monday.

Yeah, I still haven't heard anything so I sent a reminder. So wait, when you sent them an email asking for hosting, you were sent a response with a student's info? When I sent them an email, the email I got back contained a Google Docs form to submit my info.
 
I got that, filled it out, and then got another just giving me the name of the student. It wasn't an official doc or anything.

Do the students stay in the same building as the admissions office, or is it close by?

The admissions office is across the street on the fifth floor. It only takes about 5 minutes to get there from the dorms. Good luck!
 
I got a call from admissions! Complete 09/30, invite 11/03! Really excited about this one!
 
I think they did because they want me to interview on Monday and it was such short notice, so then maybe we could reschedule over the phone.
 
So.. last year people received decisions on a Tuesday (the day of the adcom meeting), and they're supposedly meeting today. Anybody keeping their hopes up for some news later today?

i don't know, at my interview (10/20) they told us second or third week of november. so maybe you earlier kids will find out sooner than that.

damn swine flu making me reschedule for later in october :laugh:

Yeah, sorry, I never checked via call to see when I was complete, but I submitted my stuff Sept. 15th.

No problem at all!

Accepted! I interviewed like 2-3 weeks ago so I'm surprised I heard so quickly.

Edit: Interview 10/21. So this was literally 2 weeks ago. Sinai rocks, so good luck to everyone else.

Wow, it's started. Congrats!! Makes me nervous - interviewed beginning of October. I called a little bit ago and was told they haven't made a decision on my application =/

Congratulations! I interviewed there last week, so this makes me hopeful that I'll hear back in a week or two. How did you learn of your acceptance?

Wow. I'm almost worried my acceptance was sent by mistake because I expected a lot of people to be getting these today.

Anyway, it's via email from the Assistant Director of Admissions (who I remember being super awesome from my interview day). States they send you a letter in 2-3 weeks with info on how to formally enroll, plus they give you links to a new student enrollment website and provide a PDF of the Dean's Report that's kind of like a mt. sinai brochure.
 
Man, I'm flat out worried... I think these interviews probably went the worst of all mine thus far. Oh well...

Got the email saying I'm Waitlisted. I interviewed mid to late October.
 
Accepted - interviewed super early (first week of october). so happy!
