Got questions on the LORs.

Both science profs I took two classes with. What should I do? I just added both course names and course numbers on the lines, and added the total units? Does that sound okay?
Basically
Microbiology lab and nutrition
BIBC 120/BIMM 121
8 units

And for LOR that are volunteer...I want to put it in the optional 2, but it requires that I put in course number and name. I didn't take a course with the letter writer obviously, so what should I do with this requirement. It won't let me get past it. Just put none?

I'm curious about your first question as well, so any help would be appreciated. =)

I think I can help with the second part. I am pretty sure that they state in their instructions that they only require that background information for the required letters, and I think "optional" just means extra academic LOR's. I would just send your volunteer or extra-curricular-type LOR's with the three required letters and leave that optional stuff blank, at least that's what I did.

Hmmm okay. Well one of my letters is from a professor who I taught for, but never took classes with. Should I leave that one out as well then? A little blur in the academic, but I'm assuming they're talking about only professors who you've taken course with.

Should I bug them with an email about my complete status? I submitted like 8/3 and still no complete status. I'm getting worried.

i submitted 7/23 and not complete, in fact it doesnt evensay they got my lors or my 2ndary yet...i called and got chewed out for it today...i dont know what to think i guess just w/e.

Same with me! I emailed them actually last week then they replied saying status is on the website and then emailed back explaining what is confusing about the LORs and they never responded.

I'm getting bad vibes from this place, 😕

same but w/e im not going to worry, if in like 2-3 more weeks i have nothing ill just call again and see whats going on. Its out of our control at this point anyways.
 
yeah i'm still not complete. just waiting on UVM and columbia at this point... two schools i'm really excited about 🙁
 
I'm a current student here and the first possible day for interviews isn't until Sept 21st. Last time I heard anything from admissions was last week at a student tour guide/overnight host meeting and they said no invites had been sent yet, but they would be "soon." Everyone take a deep breath!! I completely understand how it's easy to be anxious right now, but I promise invites will be coming... there are like 100 interview days at this school!!!!
 
What is our login on the secondary page? I lost my secondary email and I want to just use the email my password function, instead of calling and annoying them.
 
so i submitted my secondary on 8/13, letter was sent to amcas on 8/15, they got it on 8/28, so now under review.

would LOVE to go to this school

That's weird, I submitted it on 7/29 and my primary wasn't even verified until 8/10. Mine was completed on 8/12. You sure they're not missing something?
 
Does anyone know if they started sending out invites yet?
 
anyone still waiting for them to dl letters? its been a month...
 
how do you know if you are complete? there is nowhere on the app that says whether or not I am. They sent me an email a few weeks ago about my letters not being ok because they weren't on official letterhead. Now I have new letters but I don;t know if they have uploaded them since they are from the same people...

Same here! Strangely, they downloaded my two most recent letters, but not the two that have been in AMCAS the longest.

Yup, stuck in NYMC limbo. I've never been to Valhalla, but it sure is fun to say.

So I just called them today and if anyone's wondering... if you have two courses taken with a professor, they said just entering one would be sufficient. Optional letters: Put n/a and 0 for the courses/credits if you haven't taken any with the professors. Hope that helps if you need it.
 
How long did it take for your letters to show up as received once you guys submitted ur secondary????

I submitted my secondary 3 weeks ago yesterday and my letters still don't show up on my status page.. calling their office after work today.

Please let us know how it goes. The LOR issue is strange here.

i got: bio, neurobio, neuroscience, clinical, research, research, pathology,
and kierkegaard profs LOR.

Should I not submit my secondary? They ask for 2 science faculty = bio, physics, bioeng. biomed, and chem...

You might want to give them a call Tuesday.
 
i just found out my lab rec won't count as a science rec. i didn't get course credit for it. you guys think it's still worth sending in a secondary? my states are avg. 3.5 gpa 30 mcat
 
invite. submitted secondary 7/23, complete 8/3.
 
Complete 7/28, interview invite today.
