also, the gym was minuscule. didn't go in, but from the outside it was tiny. i'm not trying to hate too much on nymc.

someone enlighten me and point out how much of a fool i am for not thinking nymc is a great school thanks

About half the students stay in westchester and the other half go to nyc. This works out good because half the students end up picking their rotations for the city and the other half try to schedule most of them in westchester. Many students realize that they will likely only be around nyc for 2 more years of their life so they take the opportunity to live in the city.

This is my first acceptance and I have been waitlisted at the other schools where I interviewed (aside from one school I am still waiting to hear from) so it's a HUGE relief to have at least one acceptance. That said, the process will continue to be stressful as I wait to hear final decisions from other schools. I'm sure we can all relate on the fact that patience really is a virtue, so just keep that in mind and have positive thoughts! Good news is hopefully on the way for all of you!

i received an e-mail asking if i wanted to remain on the waitlist. i replied to that e-mail, but haven't gotten a response back. did you get confirmation that you are on the waitlist, or should i have e-mailed a different address??

Same thing happened to me. I declined, but it took them over a week to acknowledge. I thought they were ignoring me or something... but yea, there might be a delay in the process and reply because they're still busy with interviews and decisions.
 
Question:
Are all decisions emailed or just waitlist?
 
Acceptances are emailed while rejections are mailed.....not sure about waitlists though
 
Interviewed 03/09 - is it too early for the decision?
 
I also interviewed 3/04 but I just got WAITLISTED. That makes 4/4 WLs at MD schools. 🙁
 
I interviewed 3/9 - nothing for me. I know that rejects sent via snail mail. Scared :scared::scared::scared:
 
Well I was officially granted my 1 year deferral today, so there's another open spot for you guys and gals. I hope it goes to someone on this thread. Good luck to everyone on the waitlist or who still doesn't know what their acceptance status is! Those of you who are definitely matriculating...I'll see you next year.
 
@thompa, did they send you vacc forms w/ your accept? Did you have to do anything special to prove you're spending your year wisely? Was it tough to ask-did you email or call, with a good reason? You can PM if necessary.

I don't recall any vacc forms. As for the deferral request, it was pretty straightforward. I explained how my additional year will allow me to complete several research projects I'm involved with as well as strengthen my financial position (my company really didn't want me to leave this summer). I wrote a letter explaining what I'd be doing, and I had two letters of support, one from my CSO and another from a member of our board of directors. I don't know if the ad com even read the letters of support, but I figured they couldn't hurt. I just emailed all of it in, and they got back to me (via email, apparently there's more stuff coming via snail mail) in about a week. Pretty painless process. Let me know if you have any other questions.
 
I interviewed on 2/26/10 and was waitlisted last week...does anybody know if they actually reject applicants post-interview or do they just waitlist everyone they dont accept?
 
People do get rejected post-interview and have faith because there is huge waitlist movement here---some large percentage each class (don't remember the exact number) get in off the waitlist.
 
starting to get worried since 3/4 folks have already heard back... i interviewed on 2/9 and nothing as of today. 😳 and it is approaching week 10 soon.
 
I interviewed 1/8/09 and heard back 3/20/09---basically 10 full weeks and it was a straight away acceptance---first allo acceptance actually and it nearly brought tears to my eyes
 
Has anyone who got an email acceptance this week received the acceptance package in the mail?
My email acceptance came on 4/12 (interviewed 3/3) and I'm thrilled, but also a little paranoid lol because this is my first acceptance. I don't want to let myself get too excited until I get the official letter. It'll go to my permanent address right?
Oh and I did get an email yesterday about financial aid.

I just had my interview yesterday. I have to say I am really impressed with their campus and facilities. fingers crossed...

For those who got accepted, can someone tell me when is their health form due? I am planning to go abroad next week and I won't be back until early July... I am just worrying that the deadline might be due while i am abroad...(if I am lucky enough to be accepted) also, is there anything else I should watch out for? (my family can help me take care of the deposit while I am gone)
 
Hey guys! does anyone know if we have to submitt our credit scores along with the NYMC financial aid application right now? I know the email said credit scores are required, but didn't give a deadline for it.

NYMC hasn't told anything about the health forms yet. I was accepted a while ago. When you submitt your financial aid stuff, you have to sign some forms though....Hope it helps...Good Luck!

Sorry for you dude but I'd bet money that you'll get off at least one of those.🙂 I'm still feeling hopeful about getting in off of one of my top 3 WL choices but I''m very happy that I have a DO acceptance😛
NYMC does get a lot of WL movement so that's a good thing for us for sure!

ahh i know exactly how you guys feel. i have 4/4 MD schools waitlists now. my nymc interview is in may (which is super late). but i do have a DO acceptance as well.

do you guys know if the adcom meets weekly at this point? i just want to KNOW already. interviewed 03/16. i know it's early, but it seems like some people who interviewed a week or two before me already know their answer...
 
dude 3/16 was barely a month ago...they say 8-10 weeks, and yes some people find out earlier than that but some people take the full 10 weeks. Be prepared to not find out until June 1st and you may be pleasantly surprised if you hear sooner....:idea:

Ok but what I was trying to say was the it shouldn't matter to you whether or not they meet weekly (to be honest I don't know the answer anyway, I would assume yes though) because you still might not hear for the full 10 wks.

the fact of the matter is that it IS winding down, and the director of admissions told us on my interview date that they speed up the process at the end. i highly assume this means i will not be waiting for 10 weeks...especially if nymc realizes they'll lose qualified applicants the longer into the application season they wait. again, thanks for re-stating what i had already said in my first post.
 
Ok then disregard my advice and assume that you will hear monday....and then when you don't keep worrying and getting nervous about why people a week before you have found out already. Its not like I've gone through this process or anything🙄

On a side note, I never said you will be waiting 10 weeks, I said ASSUME it will 10 wks so if it takes longer than you expect you aren't let down and disappointed. But as I said, disregard my advice because I don't know anything I'm just a lowly first yr student at NYMC

i just asked a simple question. i'm not "disregarding" anything you said. i just simply already knew it...
 
going to see the new stadium tues and wed. this week. pretty pumped
 
When was the last person to get offered an interview here and what date was or is the date... I have heard nothing from them and their website says they interview through April....
