You will not have a problem finding parking around Warner especially in the evening. During the way you can try parking on the main campus and ride a shuttle or walk to the medical school. Also University Hospital has parking by the hour that you can use if you would rather have your car close by. the hospital is connected to the medical school and folks will be more than happy to direct you.
Thanks, but is parking on the street safe? cause Ive been hearing some strange noises in the neighborhood since I got here

I parked on the street overnight and I did not have any problem. Mine was on university avenue i think. Also, for the interview day, you get to park in eden garage right infront of the med school, REMEMBER to take your parking ticket with you. they'll give you a 2nd one that will remove your charge when you are exiting the garage at the end of the day.

interview went well. good luck to everyone. NOw, the countdown begins.

Sorry for posting this again, but is anyone else interviewing this Friday? I figure not many, since it's finals time, but just wanted to check.

Does anyone know how the grading scale works at this school? I know they have a five interval grading system but does anyone know the requirements for earning honors in a course? thanks

For each course, a grade of 90% or higher is honors, 85% or higher is high pass.

However, if less than 10% of the class scores in the 90's then all 10% get honors. If less than 15% of the class scores above 85 then all 15% get high pass. I don't think this happens very often though.

Accepted! I can't believe they got back to us so fast! I loved it here & it's my first acceptance...very exciting. Congrats to everyone else!

Did everyone write thank you cards after their interviews? Who did you address them to?

Got an invite here last week...do I have a chance with a 3.98 and 30 mcat??

I was pleasantly surprised to get an invite...as I thought my MCAT was too low (11-9-10). Maybe my EC's helped?

Congrats on the interview invite! I am sure your chances are just as good as most people who are interviewing as some people who have gotten interviews in previous years have much lower stats believe or not. I, however, would like to here something positive from these people haha. When were you complete if you don't mind my asking?

This was the only school I did not write one for (but it did not seem to affect their decision 🙂 ), but I would have addressed it to the admissions office if I did.

Well I submitted Sept 1. I also got a Toledo invite. I'm OOS, white male if you wanna know 🙂

so i got this "diversity interview event" email invite today...its january 14-15.

anybody else get this?

also, how are the facilities at the school? ive already been accepted in state and i wouldnt want to go out of state if the school isnt excellent.

So I interviewed and really don't know what to think of the MMI. I feel like I crashed and burned at some stations and did okay at others. Overall it wasn't AS bad as I was expecting but I still prefer the traditional interview format where I feel I have a certain amount of control.

In answer to how the facilities are... They're nice but nothing spectacular. At no point did I think "Wow", although my group didn't get to see the hospitals so who knows, perhaps those are nicer.

I did not write any thank you letters. We were not suppose to know the identity of the interviewers so there was no way to address it to them. Thanking the admissions office will prolly not make a difference in my opinion cos the committee decides and give ur decision to the office but well, its about doing what makes you comfy and you wont have to think, may be if i did this or that, it'll be different if you know what i mean.
I didnt write any and got an acceptance 7days after interview so...it didnt hurt me.
Good luck

Do they send out rejection letters? I'm not sure if I'm getting a silent rejection, since they're website says that some students don't get word until March. My application was complete 10/21, and I'm not sure what to expect.

My application was complete in july!! Is there still a chance of getting an interview? Up to what month do they interview? Thanks.

I just interviewed here last week and Dr. Manuel said they have 2 interview days in Jan, 4 in Feb and 1 or 2 in March, depending on whether they have to reschedule an interview day due to inclement weather. So there's still a chance!

I loved the MMI actually. If you're a pretty social person, I think you'll do great on it. Just be yourself, be engaging, think before you blurt out things, and smile...it worked for me lol. I'm OOS, so I spent the day before exploring the children's hospital and whatnot, instead of staying in my hotel room. The tour doesn't include the surrounding hospitals, but I liked the new medical sciences building and they're not completely finished with it either. UC is pretty high on my list - they don't get the credit they deserve, I think.

I sent a thank you email to Dr. Manuel (for the interview, not the interview invite), but I didn't think about it 'til the Wednesday after my interview and an hour later I got the acceptance lol.

IIRC, I wrote a thank you card to the admissions office, as none of the MMI interviewers gave their names (from what I could remember), and writing eight thank you cards would have been.. potentially extreme.

So I interviewed and really don't know what to think of the MMI. I feel like I crashed and burned at some stations and did okay at others. Overall it wasn't AS bad as I was expecting but I still prefer the traditional interview format where I feel I have a certain amount of control.
The MMI is a very different style of interviewing compared to the traditional interview, no doubt. It may work better for some compared to others. Hopefully, the MMI folks scored you better than you thought you did!

At the very least, they will post rejections on MedOneStop and notify you of any change in your status via e-mail. Unfortunately, I can't recall rejection letters from UCCOM, despite having been rejected by them several times.

Congratulations, doc324, bhee, and Mast Cell! Hopefully we'll see you next year!

So i officially rejected other acceptances....cos i like cinci (besides the environment 🙁).
Sorry but just got two questions for ANYONE who knows.
one, do you know of scholarships that one can get, not neccessarily big but something to bring my expenses down. I know some students get scholarships but i have been looking for a month and no luck yet.
2nd, am black so i was wondering if i'll feel left out at cinci, i dont know how diverse their class is.

thanks guys and good luck to those waiting.

has anyone been officially rejected from this school?

I can't say that I personally know anyone who has been rejected, but when I was there I think they said they do reject people post interview.

I have been waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting for an interview invite from Cinci. Guess it's not going to happen.

Same 🙁

Amber, your mdapps says you were complete september 22nd... thats basically when I was complete. Anyways I messaged someone that got an interview at cinci for the first week of february and they were complete september 2nd and received an invite just before christmas... hopefully our time is soon and we'll have a mid february interview. They do interview a lot of people from what i remember.

FYI - they interview around 600 people. Cincinnati only interviews people 2-3 times a month so sometimes the process can be a little slow (as the message on the status page says).

Edit: nevermind. 🙂

Just got an interview invite here. Not sure if I should go... Is there anything super exciting about Cincinnati that I should know? All i have really heard is that they have crazy interviews and that their football team is in the cat family (I <3 cats)

ditto buffy. i hear theres an actor interviewer...SWEET

whens your interview btw?

Mine is 1-24, I do like the climate, 10 degrees warmer than Madison in the winter, same in the summer. I think less humidity too. In state tuition after the first year.

isnt 1-24 a sunday? mines on 1-26 and im pretty sure thats a tuesday. didnt know about the first year in state tuition. are you referring to madison, WI?

Yeah i had the date wrong. Doesn't look like there is too much interest for Cincinnati, I probably won't go to this interview...

lol my thoughts exactly. especially since they clearly didnt like me enough to give me an interview till now. jerks.

Does anyone know if Cinci is P/F? And how many hours students have to be in class each day during years 1 & 2?

Does anyone know how the waitlist here works? Is it ranked? If so, can I just contact them to find out which 1/4 or 1/3 or whatever I'm in? Or will they basically hide it from us just because they can? THanks.

According to the assistant dean, the waitlist is not ranked until May at which point you can find out what quartile you're in. Movement varies and typically starts around late May. By mid-June you can contact the school to get a more accurate assessment of exactly how fast/slow the list is moving.

declining my interview here. hope one of yall get it! good luck guys.

Yo UC... stop giving me the cold shoulder please?

Yeah I know right. I've had interviews at both UK and UofL and been accepted at UofL. Cincinnati isn't showing me any love. My stats aren't amazing but they are at least quite a bit above KY averages, and I'm within 50 miles of UC so I believe I'm considered IS.

I feel your frustration! Atleast you are in though, congrats. I'm IS and Ohio has been kind to me except UC and NEOUCOM.
