Depends on your interview date...I'd check the acceptance thread from last year. I interviewed on 9/18 and people who interviewed at that time didn't hear last year till like 10/20...
 
Has anyone been rejected yet or should I take the fact that I haven't hear anything even though I've been complete since 8/19 as a bad sign?
 
Any of my pre-med hopefuls interviewing here next wednesday? If so, let me know or PM.

i recently interviewed here and was very impressed with the school

i thought that i would share this bit of knowledge with all of you. when one of the deans was talking to us, she said that pitt wouldn't start announcing decisions until "the 15th, which is next week." yeah. a little bit confusing. anyway, don't stress out too much. good luck to all of you who interviewed early!

Wait, was it earlier this week that she said they will come out "the 15th, which is next week?" Are they not working on the same calendar as us? I interviewed 9/9, which puts it at just over 5 weeks. The status page does say it could take up to 8 weeks, but I hope it doesn't take that long...
 
yes i did interview at pitt earlier this week. that's why i was confused when she made that statement lol.

Do you guys think they are going to make us wait for a snail mail letter to come before a status update? I'm thinking if they mailed the letters yesterday 🙂xf: I hope I get one!), them maybe they would come in the mail on like Saturday or on Monday, right? I looked at last year's thread, and it seemed like people knew until the 17th, but this year the 17th is a Saturday.
 
Anyone else watching the Pitt-Rutgers game thinking how much cooler it would be to cheer on Pitt if you had been accepted by Pitt already?

A lady in the admissions office told me today that decisions will not go out until early November. For our sake, I hope not.

She told me that after I said I interviewed 5-6 weeks ago. Maybe she said it to follow their safe 'estimate' of 8 weeks.

I interviewed... let's see... 09/22. I think I posted the wrong date on somewhere else, lol Yourself?

Oh, and I hope it's not early November... I definitely remember the director saying letters will be sent out either the 15th or 16th and there will be an accompanying status update.
 
I interviewed on 9/18. I remember them telling us that too.

Maybe I should cut myself off from checking my status...maybe just wait for that letter...
 
...or go around with a face like :scared: for the next 3-4 weeks.
 
What's the holdup...is there a reason for them to be taking longer this year even though they said decisions would be out?

Alright I just emailed them...they said "you'll generally hear from 4 to 6 weeks from your interview date". That's all they said. Nothing about the first decisions going out in November.

So...it's still up in the air. This week is the 5th week for me, so it may very well happen this week. I'm going to stick with that optimism.
 
No decisions till November. Just got an e-mail.
 
As you may already know, the American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) permits medical schools across the nation to begin notifying their applicants of their admissions status after October 15th. Just recently, the Admissions Committee at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine decided to delay sending the first round of admission decisions until the first week of November and continue on a rolling bases thereafter. All official admissions decisions will be sent via postal mail to the preferred mailing address listed on your AMCAS application. Please keep in mind that you can check the status of your application on-line by using the log-on provide to you to schedule your interview.

I like to think I have a pretty good taste in comedy. Movies, shows, stand-up. I've seen some pretty funny shows like Arrested Development, Seinfeld, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The Office, etc - Curb Your Enthusiasm blows them all away, in my opinion.

Larry David is my hero.

Just got into it and it's freakin' hilarious and additcting!
 
watching curb is great, it kinda really shows how the idea of seinfeld (esp the character of George) was developed
