i interviewed on 11/4 and just got waitlisted. guess they put up new decisions?
judging from the previous decisions on this thread, who isn't? 🙄are ppl who interview in jan interviewing for the waitlist?
does the application status tab show ur status is under review? mine doesnt even say that and rather just says letters are received. where is the app status supposed to be?
has anyone that interviewed on 11/3 heard anything?
Acceptance!!!!! I am psyched!
Does anyone know when Pitt makes scholarship offers? Does that come with the acceptance packet or will that come later in the spring when they know what other schools you've gotten into?
Waitlist here as well, definitely expecting that. Interviewed 11/9. Anyone know how the waitlist here works and/or how many kids they accept from it?
They started doing this last year. They overenrolled two years ago, so they're playing it really cautious with their acceptances so it doesn't happen again. They never explicitly stated so last year, though.also, I can't tell if the letter is actually true (in that this is a NEW thing this year) or if it's just to make us feel better lol
Utterly completely totally rejected! LOL good luck to the rest of you!
It didn't come with my acceptance packet, but I know for some schools it does. I dunno if it is just me or this was the case for everyone who got in so far. But, i'm thinking it will probably be after they see where else you got in.

? Does AMCAS give them that information?
Even knowing that it's usually 1.5-2 months after an interview for a decision, I read that subject line and took a few deep breaths before I opened it.
Brutal.
hah same here. Then I went and checked the status page even tho there was not really any chance my decision would have been posted 🙂
It's just such a formal title. What was wrong with 'Season's Greetings from Pittsburgh?'
To achieve this:

lol did anyone even think about replying to that message?? I thought it was really nice. My other schools did not do anything like this.

when you're waitlisted and on the happy ol' "updates about how great Pitt is" mailing list, it's a bit like:
salt--------------->wound

The way I understood it, Pitt is one of those schools that waitlists the majority of interviewees, accepts very few during the 'rolling' period, and then accepts the majority of their class in spring, and then later as people withdraw.
Am I mistaken?

You are correct. Too bad that I interviewed in early September, and my excitement about Pitt has diminished significantly. That is probably because I have gotten excited about the schools that I have ALREADY been accepted to. Oh well, maybe it wasn't meant to be for me and Pitt.
That's why there's second look! Although I'm not sure Pitt has a formal second look...
They do: April 29-May 1st

So, (aside from Darragh Street) where do UPitt medical students live?
Besides the Pitt owned housing for medical students it is these neighborhoods for the most part.
Shadyside
Squirrel Hill
Oakland (Home of the university) (I personally would not choose this)
Some people also live in these other city neighborhoods-
Friendship
Bloomfield
South Side
Point Breeze
Highland Park
Lawrenceville
Hope that this helps!

So no decisions this week at all??? What's up with that?
Don't be too down, they've waitlisted a TON of qualified applicants. (One 41+er) 😱Waitlisted this past week. Was too depressed to post until you asked.
Thanks Chuck's! I wrote my strong letter of interest a month ago and sent it in there! Hopefully it is well received 😀 Also, if we've already sent a letter of interest and have no major updates, should I be writing again next month to show maintained interest? Or should I just sit tight?Just to reiterate: write letters. If you have tiesto Pittsburgh mention them. Waitlist moves pretty far (hey they even let me in!).
Chin up!
