hmm interview invite! but for a waitlist position...hmm

They don't do "waitlist" interviews... if you are interviewing, you are interviewing for a position in next year's class.

And back to the brachial plexus...

Accepted 🙂. Interviewed on the 12th of February. Instate...etc.

Congratulations! I hope to see you in the fall, but even if you don't end up matriculating at UW that's still an awesome achievement so way to go!!!

lol serious. Though really its more like june because of WL for me 🙁. Ill probably regret saying this later this year when school starts but in some ways i wish it would just start now so i can stop wondering where im going to be spending the next 4+ years of my life.

i meant that in mid-april they will tell us where we are at on the waitlist. that number will give me a good guess of whether or not i'll get in based on the previous numbers of acceptances off of the waitlist

So five weeks is pretty common to hear back post-interview? Four to go... Any other OOS-ers psyched about this school?

4-5 is common, mine was 4. Im pretty psyched about this school. I didnt even think id like it before the interview day, but post interview this is basically the only OOS school id attend. After being accepted here i withdrew from all oos schools just waiting on a few ones back home before i decide. Still awesome to know that if home doesnt work out i have a option i love 🙂. Even if home does work out, i loved UW so much i think i may attend here anyways. Cant say w/o fin aid packages but UW rocks regardless 🙂

I was interested in the school before the interview, but I was surprised how impressed I was by it afterwards. Hopefully, they send me some good news soon enough!

I just called admissions to ask about the status of my file, expecting a denial. However, they told me "You are still in the small pool of applicants. And we will be interviewing throughout April." I said that was good news, and asked when they would review again. She said "You may hear by the end of March."

so... Small pool of applicants... whats that about?

Did you mean to post this on Medical College of Wisconsin thread? 😕They have the small pool system. I don't think UWSMPH does. I thought UWSMPH was done with interviews...

Yeah I have been out for awhile too. I am kind of nervous that I won't remember how to do well in school... :scared:

are you going to uw for sure buffy? I remember something like you were debating at one point🙂

I built and strengthened a lot of friendships here in the past few months, but I was still planning on going to the cheapest school. After UW offered me the scholarship I know I will not find a school cheaper than 14K/year, so I am all in for Wisconsin now.

Are you coming here for sure?

depends on fin aid for me. Im in all likelyhood going to the cheapest school so i wont decide until i get find aid packages from a few other schools. But tuition and cost of living included, UW mad is probably going to be the cheapest because my state is so messed up lol.

Btw did you get your aid letter in the mail? I called and they said they wont send letters out till april...maybe tahts just for OOS?

Scholarship offers come via snail mail and can be sent at any time. The mid-april ones are for your entire fin aid package including scholarships, grants, loans, everything. Good luck with getting some income-based aid in april, I hope they're very generous :luck:

Yeah it wasn't a financial aid package. Just a paper offering a scholarship. It is dated 2/23, it went to my old address and had to be forwarded so it took forever. Yeah for some reason we have really cheap out of state tuition (in comparison seeing as all medical education is ridiculously expensive).

Accepted off waitlist today, parents said the letter came in the mail (parents live in Madison)!

Woah! Movement already? Is the IS waitlist already ranked?

Nope, I don't think that either list has been ranked yet. But a few applicants get accepted off each list before the rankings are even given out....UW is very careful about how many acceptance they give out initially so sometimes (and in fact I think most application cycles) they are a little under quota after interviews are finished so they take a few people off the waitlists. I'm actually glad they do it this way instead of overaccepting since that would mean waitlisters would have a much lower shot of an eventual acceptance. Good luck waitlisters!!👍

Anyone have the Match results for 2010?

So I don't think they've released the official match list or how many people got in their top 3 chioces (which is what I would really be interested in finding out), however the UWSMPH has released some general info on their website and facebook/twitter pages. There was also a cool story about one particular student on the news recently. The links are below, you can find the facebook/twitter pages by going to the med school website link and then there's a link for those on the upper right-hand of the page.

General info from UWSMPH website: http://www.med.wisc.edu/news-events/news/medical-students-get-ready-to-meet-their-match/26795

Thanks for the general information!!

When the match list becomes available, somebody please post it !!!!!!!!!

interviewed 2/26. oos. found out i was accepted via snail mail yesterday.

good luck guys~

I was accepted off the waitlist this week as well. Letter came in the mail on Friday!!! SOOOO EXCITED!!!!!

hey has anyone seen the uw match list yet?

They haven't been posting the match lists on oasis lately, I think admissions might give you one if you want it. This year's list was good as usual, a little more EM and Gen surg than in previous years, lots of ortho and plastics. Most 4th years I talked to (10 or more) got their 1st or 2nd choices.

Uw doesn't have an official 2nd look for everyone, there's a 2nd look for minority students though that's sponsored by msmc.

Yay! The match lists for the past four years have been put on OASIS so accepted applicants can view them. FYI though it says that the info is confidential and should not be distributed, it's only there to be viewed by current med students and accepted applicants.

nice. classified information.

Do we only need to submit the FAFSA for financial aid? or do we need to submit tax forms as well?

3 things: FAFSA, student's tax forms (federal only plus W2), tax form cover sheet. You also need to submit FAFSA data and tax forms/cover sheet for parents info ONLY if you are applying for the primary care scholarship.

Awesome, thanks a lot

I'm trying to remember. I believe they said they don't accept anything post-interview. Is that right? Not even a letter of intent?

And does anyone remember when the waitlist is formed from the althernate list?

post interview they accept nothing really. Any updates you were supposed to tell your interviewer. Some people have posted like within <1 week after the interview you can send some things but for the most part it seems like a no

Those that were accepted off of the alternate list, are you IS or OOS? thanks

Dear Madison,

You are my dream school and you can count on an updated app in June if the alternate list doesn't work out.

I just spoke with Lucy at admissions, and I guess I'm position 6 on the waitlist (OOS). Please do not call admissions asking about your position number.

It's my understanding the OOS list doesn't move very much, but can anyone please give me an idea of what my chances of an acceptance are at this point based on past data?

thanks.
