When you call they say they will send you an email with more information.

I ask because I was thinking about flying into Raleigh, which seems like it's a bigger airport and cheaper to fly into. It's about an hour and a half away though, it looks like.
 
Does this status mean that I'm in the "interview pool" and have about a 50% chance of getting an interview?

"Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March. If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview."

I don't know where you're coming up with 50%, but that's what I had before I got my interview.

Seems like it's an interview pool, but I don't know about 50%. I would guess the chances are lower than that, but I have a hard time assigning odds to these things. It's not like a lottery, not everyone has an equal chance.

I read in a previous post on this thread that out of the 1000 people in the top interview pool, about 550 are invited for interviews. I don't know if I'm in the top interview pool though. Oh well, at least it's not a rejection. 🙂
 
Anybody know of a bus or something that goes from Raleigh to Winston-Salem? The Greensboro flight times are not cooperating.

It's more than 1hr30m from RDU to Wake Med. I would definitely recommend flying to Greensboro.

Winston is a pretty quiet town, but it's also pretty nice. There are plenty of bars & etc, and the undergrad campus means that even though it's not a big city there is usually stuff to do. There's not exactly any big attractions, though Carowinds is only an hour away.

There are also no cheap buses, as far as I know. You'll have to take the Greyhound, and it's like $40ish for a round trip. Plus, it takes a lot longer than driving (prob at least 2 hours from the airport). At least the Greyhound stop in Winston-Salem is not too far from the med campus though.
 
You might be better off flying to Charlotte than RDU if you can't find a ticket to Greensboro. Isn't that closer? I went to Wake once a while back and I think I remember it being about 90 minutes away.
 
got an interview invite on Wednesday!! SO excited😀 when is everyone interviewing?
 
hey guys! i decided to apply to Wake just recently, hoping to get a screened secondary. from what i've read (and heard), this looks like a great school to learn how to be a doctor. best of luck to all of you.
 
i dont know if i should say something or not!! should i say something about like thanks for considering me/i love wake med/my sister liked wake undergrad, or is this just for updates that arent on amcas?

I just gave a few sentences about what I liked about Wake and why I thought it was a good fit with me.
I think you can type whatever you feel is important, or if you feel like you have said everything you need to say leave it blank.

Anyone know where I might be able to retrieve a copy of the signature page we sent off? I was in a rush to get it sent I don't even remember what the hell I signed! hah

However, it won't list your name or your "Prospective Student ID Number." Your name goes where that comma is (last name is first) above the words "Prospective Student ID Number," and your Prospective Student ID Number is the number you type into the EmplID field when you check your status.

i just randomly checked my status this morning and it said "you are invited to call and set up an interview at your convenience." no e-mail, call, etc. I wonder how long that status has been up? Are there pre-set dates (if yes, anyone know what they are) or can you really just go anytime you want?

I am new to this site, but I am also an applicant of WF. I am a little confused from what some of you are saying. Some claim that they never received an email for the interview, but they checked the "status" page and noticed that it had changed to "please contact us for interview." How do I get this status page. All I have is an email saying that sais your application is complete, on 8/14, like some others have, but no link to check my application status. Can you someone please help me out with this issue?

I wish they had a different message for the "hold" status ... it has the words/phrases "interview" "invitation" "phone call" "schedule an interview." Way too similar to the "call us for an interview" status.

Everytime I check it I think I got an interview, but alas, it is still that damned Sept. to March message.

Yeah, that message. Sorry about that ... I guess we've concluded it is not an official pre-interview hold or anything, but for all intents and purposes that's what I consider it to be and it is easier to say "hold" status than "potentially in an interview pool, not yet rejected" status.

Don't feel bad if you have that status, I had it then it changed to interview so keep your heads up...I'm sure a lot more of you will have it change to invite soon!🙂
 
Is anyone else having trouble getting to the status and secondary website pages today? I was going to submit the secondary, but I can't get to it anymore (I have been there previously to check out the short essay questions). My computer keeps getting a page load error screen.
 
honestly, not a very neurotic guy. well, not that neurotic. i was verified on the 6th of august. i have receive some secondaries, even from schools that screen like UCLA or UC Davis, but some schools I'm really interested in such as Wake haven't gotten back to me. I haven't even received an acknowledgement they have my application. Do they normally take a little while with secondaries if you weren't on your game and getting verified sometime in June? Should I just expect them to trickle in over the next month or so (rejections and secondary requests I mean)?

OK thanks. I was going to call them and ask but I figured I'd check here first and see if it was a problem with the link I got or if it was a problem with their server overall.
 
So did anybody get an interview invite w/o having the:

I did. I went to bed and the next morning it changed to something like "Call us and schedule an interview."
 
Yeah - their system requires personal initiative. I'm glad I logged on today to see that they would like for me to call them for an interview. I got the "app is complete" e-mail last Friday.

Congrats to those who are interviewing!

I'm happy about knowing this, but it makes me paranoid about every other school. haha
 
Has anyone figured out how to retrieve a forgotten password? It keeps saying my email isn't in the system.
 
so how is everyone getting from greensbro airport to WFU? Is there a shuttle that would be cheaper than taking a taxi that would cost $30 each way...
 
I have someone coming w/ me since apparently everyone in my family is afraid of me arriving alone in somewhere at night, but check through the e-mail that Wake sends about the interview. I believe they said something about an afternoon shuttle for $1.

The best method is to rent a car for the day.
 
does wake forest have a student hosting program set up? anyone want to host a poor college student in mid-september?? 🙂
 
So I have had this notice on my status page for about 3 weeks:

All materials necessary to complete your secondary application have been received. Once recommendation letters are received and entered in, you will be sent an e-mail notification that your application file is complete. If your recommendation letters have already been sent to us, please allow 2-3 weeks from when we receive your Signature page and fee for processing of the letters.

I called them last week and they said everything is received but I haven't been reviewed yet. Should I be concerned? There seems to be a lot of movement on this forum. FYI, received and completed on 7/22.

Even if you are, I'm afraid there's really nothing you can do about it unfortunately. As tough as it is, just sit tight and wait it out - it'll be complete soon enough!
