It's also still only august -- some people haven't even submitted their primary applications yet. I wouldn't worry b/c you're wayy ahead of the game. If it's Jan/Feb and we still have that message, maybe begin worrying.
 
any current students or interviewees have suggestions for hotels close by to the campus? i've had no luck finding student hosts.

I had that message and got an interview within a week. It's definitely not necessarily a long term hold.
 
... came in the mail today. So I held my breath, tore it open, and read: "thank you for applying, we have received your application materials!"

(Applying MD-PhD - the letter was from the graduate school.)
 
I scrolled through 6 pages but couldn't see an answer. My status is currently "Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March. If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview." which apparently is a hold but I received the complete e-mail on Friday (meaning they just received my letters and such). How is this not a filler status until we actually hear about interviews? Did anyone have a different status than this after being marked complete??
 
I got the complete email today and my status just changed within the past hour to that message. I'll keep checking back and let you know if anything changes. But I'm not sure if someone could definitively say they never got that status message unless they're on their computer refreshing the status page every second. Who knows how they do their process though. Hold or no hold, until it says something of substance, it doesn't seem particularly helpful to try to decipher it. At least that's what I'll tell myself so I don't worry too much.
 
does anyone know if they are flexible on nonscience faculty LOR?😕
 
Does anyone know how long it should take for them to send me a secondary? I was verified for AMCAS 2 weeks ago and received secondaries from everywhere but UNC, U Colorado, and Wake to this point after applying to 27 schools. I scored a 33 and have a great GPA with really unique XCs so I would hope that I would at least be given a secondary at Wake. Someone I know scored lower than my numbers and got the secondary 6 days after verification but I have had no correspondence with them at all. Is this normal or am I rejected already lol?

I was told to start worrying about an unchanged status if its February, but is it a good sign that I still haven't been rejected? Have they started rejecting people post-secondary yet? Thanks!

It took me about 2.5 or 3 weeks to hear anything from them and my stats are similar to yours, numerically at least. But I did get a secondary, if that helps 🙂. I'm just stoked that all my letters are FINALLY at AMCAS so I can be complete soon!

I don't think anyone has been rejected yet. So far, everyone who didn't get an interview invite has that hold status.

I wish I could fast-forward a few months so I know where the heck I'm going... argh. The more that reject me, the closer I'll be to an acceptance! 😀

It seems like everyone is on hold now. Has someone got an interview invite in the past few days? Maybe they're holding off on decisions for a little bit while they review more applications and figure out to whom they want to give an invite now that fewer spots are available.

i hope they get to them soon.. i've been on hold for about 3 weeks now
would love to interview here
 
Yeah..wouldn't recommend lying about that. This was already stated in my application multiple times, and it's for a very valid reason.

or maybe their admissions staff is all out sick...reports of 80-100 confirmed cases of H1N1 at wake forest right now :-/

true that. i'm at duke university, and we just talked about that in my class today. some kids in my class are athletes, and they said people on swim team also were coming down w/ it. and i have a friend who i'm pretty sure has it...as he's dying at home.

so if you're in NC, watch out

I am sure that somewhere within these 16 pages this has been discussed...so basically I am asking for someone to repeat themselves for me.

How long from complete until interview invite have u been waiting?

what I wanted to say with that was that I don't want to search for my answer because reading through 16 pages of SDN makes me depressed/nervous/anxious/insomniac. Anyone feel the same?

Your AMCAS application has been evaluated and we are sending you our secondary application by e-mail. Please allow 2 weeks for the application to be sent to you as we send them out in batches.

I got my complete email about 2 weeks ago..but my status hasn't changed since then. I'm guessing this is probably a bad sign since most people who got interviews seemed to have a really really fast turnaround time?
 
interviewing in about 2 weeks also! excited.

Ha! My mentality is pretty much the same. We're narrowing down the field! Reject me quick and put me out of my misery! It's like getting a Band-aid ripped off the hairy part of your arm.
