thank you for the link

another problem here, when I try to log in the following message pops up:

Data being updated does not exist. (18,4)

When trying to save your changes, the system could not find the existing data in the database.

This problem can happen if another user deleted the information while you were making changes. Make a note of what you were doing, then cancel the page and retry.

If the problem persists this may be the result of an application programming error and should be reported to technical support staff.

Possible application errors that could cause this including deleting the data with SqlExec while the record is in the component buffers.

it won't let me log in and I have no clue what that means, anybody have this problem as well?

Or just use a different browser, that always worked for me. For some reason, if one browser doesn't work, another one will.

I have gotten that msg a bunch of times - just try again later.

How soon are you guys hearing about interviews/rejections since you were complete? Got my complete email today, just wondering how long I need to hold my breath 🙂

I haven't heard anyone post about an interview in a couple weeks. Seems like either they're all being quiet about it or Wake has been holding off on sending invites for a little bit.

I think they have student hosts. They sent an email to all of us asking if we wanted to host someone, so there must be something in place. I would call and check it out.

Hey guys,
I have a quick question. I submitted my secondary weeks ago, and submitted 5 LOR's, 4 of which have been submitted. My last letter writer has not submitted my letter and refuses to answer my emails.
Would it look bad if I cancelled the letter? I just think the letter isn't that important and am tired of waiting...I just want to make sure this doesn't look bad since I have already submitted my secondary.

got the "hold" status like 30 minutes ago 🙂
cmon wake show me some love

maybe this is just wishful thinking but I don't think is an "indefinite hold" message
they send out interviews in waves so they are probably in the process of filling up the next interview wave
when that's done they will send out invites
I think them sending out the invite message immediately was just a misstep on their part initially, but now they've corrected it

I'm inclined to agree. It seems unlikely that they aren't willing to give even a single sdner that's been complete in the last 3 weeks an interview. I think your profile almost confirms it. It wouldn't surprise me if they somehow gave you a special auto acceptance.

Just submitted my secondary earlier today... hopefully the turnaround doesn't take too long

How long did it take you to receive your secondary? I still haven't gotten mine yet after almost 3 weeks. =/

haha you never know what schools want...stats only take you so far! 🙂- i doubt they even distinguish between a 39 and 41 😛

but anyway it does seem weird that NO one has gotten an interview invite in the last 3 weeks...seems they are waiting for something- I think they were moving fast in early august but not anymore...plus I believe several people got invite on the 19th of september last year

I had interview at Wake today so i thought I would share what I saw:

Today was the first day of interviews. The dean of admissions, a cardiologist, came to say hi to us and she remembered all of our undergrad schools and hometowns. She tried to talk to each of us (there were 6 total) and seemed really nice. We had a short presentation about the school and town, financial aid (it'll cost about 60k a year), and lunch at hospital cafeteria. A few things applicants would want to know: last year there were about 7000 applications, about 500 were interviewed, about 250 offered acceptance, class size is 120. About 30-40% of students are from NC universities. But you might can this info on the school page too.

Students of different years joined us for lunch and talked a lot about their experiences. They all seemed really happy and content with the school. Then we had 1 hr tour of the school and hospital and "speed-dating" interview with three faculty members, 15 min each. They have access to your AMCAS essay at least. Each interviewer is different, but they try to make a good impression on you and to make it not too stressful.

The school IS really wired as they say. Everything is online, even textbooks. The anatomy lab is the cleanest I've seen with hardly any smell. Again, students seem really happy and inspired to be there.

I stayed with a student host whom I found on facebook. I highly highly recommend you stay with a host because I got to see the neighborhoods around the hospital/school and make a "commute" to the school in the morning. I even attended two classes with my host in the morning before the interview schedule began. I saw the entire M2 class because the first class of the morning was required for them, and because I went to class and talked with the students, I got a pretty good idea of what it might be like for me to be a student there.

If you're interviewing, definitely ask the admissions office for a list of students who may be able to host you. I also recommend that you get a host before you schedule an interview. Every three weeks or so (at least for M2) they have exams, which makes the students unavailable to host applicants.

Good luck!

so...I just emailed wake about my status and this is the reply they gave me...
"what that means is that your application is in an interview pool
and that you may or may not be asked for an interview. Your application
happens to be in the top interview pool and we can schedule an interview
if you are interested in interviewing with us and will give us a call.
It's early in our process and there may be space available. There will
be several in our top pool that we will not be able to get to in the
total of 550 that we will be inviting."

that's an interview offer right? also for everyone else, sit tight...it looks like most people have the "hold status" right now even if they are interviewable- mine for instance

What exactly did you have as your status?

Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March. If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview.

was and still is my status

I guess it makes sense that if you are in the top of that pool, you'd eventually get an interview anyhow.... so they're just lessening your wait. Though now they will get a million phone calls/emails from people wondering if they are in the top pool, and if they can go ahead and schedule an interview.

LOL, just send a email out asking about it, altho I didn't ask if I am in the top interview pool and what not, but I did ask if they can tell me exactly what my status is atm.👍

haha well I hope they don't' pin the sudden influx on me 🙂

haha I have the same status and am tempted to email as well but I feel like an idiot asking for more info when the status basically says "don't call me, I'll call you." Let us know what they say!

How odd. So they place more people in the top interview pool, than they plan on inviting? I guess I'll shoot them an email, maybe I'll luck out as well.

Wow, this was very helpful! Thanks so much for sharing your info. Like most pre-meds, I love to know what to expect...

Hey crash, I am not sure if I missed your intentions or not but it sounds like you need to call them ASAP. When I was offered an interview it was when I was calling for a totally unrelated reason. Good Luck guys and gals.

ah bummer...I need to still figure out my course schedule which I find out next wednesday...
would that be too late?

also they haven't emailed me about an invite or changed the status on my website...so that means I may still have some time correct?

so im still "on hold" for my mcat scores...which came out last week....should i call them and see whats up?

It took them about 3 weeks to send me a secondary after my mcat scores were released, and at least 2 before they had even acknowledged that they got them. It was a little frustrating to be honest. They seem to take a lot of time "processing" parts of your application.

Yeah you should. I am just saying by reading that email you quoted it sounded like you had an interview if you called them up to schedule it. Good luck.

Just called them to inquire about this status and they didn't really tell me much other than, "you've been reviewed, and if they decide to interview you we'll call or email". but she did say if i haven't heard anything in about a month to check back to see if there's been a change in my status...

interpretations?

Sounds like you should check back in a month if you haven't heard anything to see if there's been a change in your status. No need to try and read in between the lines.

haha this made me lol..i like how people have started to just be real blunt on here.....

on another note, they apparently got my new mcat scores a few hours ago and put me back in review...so ill be waitin on that secondary now.

judging by the emails that other people received is it even worth filling out at this point? i feel like its just gonna be a waste of money if theyre not gonna interview everyone in their 'interview' pile

really i just want someone to say, "sounds like they're going to offer you an interview within the next month!"

thanks jerks 😉

I found my host through facebook. It's really hard to get around the school area if you don't have someone to guide you.

Through facebook? How did you do that?

Cool, good info.

Did you fly into Greensboro? If so, did you use public transportation to get to Winston-Salem?

so i went from "hold for mcat" to "evaluating amcas" to "we're sending you the secondary" all in less than 24 hours.....thats quick

oh does anyone know what days of the week they interview? i already have my responses written out for the secondary....but im comin down from PA for another interview close by in november so i want to try and request that i get an interview around then...lol maybe ill def get an interview that way.

I looked up facebook group called Wake Forest School of Medicine class of 2012 or something like that, picked a person based on their undergrad, and sent a message. I like staying with M2s because they know more about life at school more than than M1s know but not are as busy as M3s, and are not as far removed from the app process as M4s.

I drove to Wake Forest. Perhaps you can ask your student host to pick you up. They know public transport is terrible and they all have cars. But
if you can, SCHEDULE YOUR INTERVIEW AFTER YOU SECURE A STUDENT HOST FIRST to make sure they have time for you. The M2s at least have exams every 3 weeks, and you would only know when they have exams if you ask them in advance. I was lucky that my interview came the first week after an exam for them.

I interviewed at Wake recently and i took the PART bus from Greensbro to Winston-Salem. The ride was only $2 but I didn't like it. I would just suck it up and take a taxi and on the way back you can split the tab if more than one person is going back to the airport.

Why not?

Oh snap - I had the interview hold status message. Decided to call in to make sure my application was complete, she said I was in the 'top pool' and then we scheduled an interview on the spot!

Wow! 🙂

I emailed them yesterday to basically scout out the same thing, no response yet though. Seems a little odd that they're not updating people they want to interview. I can understand calling to check if you're complete (Sinai), but calling to check if you're going to be interviewed? Imagine if this was their stated policy, combined with the neuroticism of premeds, their phone lines would be in chaos haha...

There was a lot of waiting and the bus depot at where the PART drops you off in Winston-Salem doesn't exactly look like the safest place in town.

Alright, cool. I'll still probably do it on the way to my hotel just because I have some time to mess around. Maybe I'll do a cab or something on the way to the airport though.

I just got switched from "Hold" to Interview Invite! Awesome!
