You're not being harsh, just incorrect 😛
I have no problem with difficult questions, I've been asked many that were much more difficult during my interviews. I just feel that if a school publicly states that your grades and MCAT are acceptable if you make it to the interview stage (I never said my MCAT was below average by the way...), then they shouldn't badger you about it during the interview. They claim that the interview is to get to know you as a person since they have your stats and ECs on paper, so why even need to bring up a single score from a single day in your life? There are infinite topics to discuss to get to know you as a person and your potential to become a good clinician, and a single set of double digit numbers is not one of them.
Side note: I handled the question just fine actually 🙂 I just knew that my chances were gone the minute I sat down and my interviewer started criticizing my file before asking any meaningful questions.
