Happened to me last year, somehow people are not on the "list" of being able to access it, yes call them and they will add you.

I just called and admissions told me that they forgot to mail a list of all of the students to some department so we have access. They said that everyone will be added in 2-3 days, so we don't have to call individually to get it set up.

you might be there for an hour, make sure you use internet explorer and you will get in at 5ish fairly quickly.

I got in a few minutes after I posted that actually. Yay student season pass. Anyone have any clue about how ticket exchanges would work? I would rather give tickets to other games in exchange to going to one game with family.

I am guessing that it's being administered to check our level of Biochem knowledge...but I find it odd that it's listed as an "exam" if it's only to gauge our incoming baseline.

Besides (since I have no real knowledge of this stuff) don't NBME exams test knowledge at the medical school level (like pathology and stuff I never covered in my Biochem classes)?

Hmm never happened to us, I was actually always jealous other schools took those tests but we never did, maybe they are implementing it for your class?

Yes, I activated my OSU email a few weeks ago. I used the instructions per the MedStar website on activating my Ohio State Username. Then, I signed in to buckeyemail through username.buckeyemail.osu.edu, "username" being whatever they give you with your last name.number. Is it not working for you?

Aside from the obvious benefit of being an in state applicant are there any benefits to being an alum? I got my masters in mechanical engineering from the Ohio state university a few years back, and was wondering if it would help at all. Thanks!

No they actually specifically said alums would not get benefits, however, bc more alums apply than others, you will find that a good chunk of your classmates are osu grads. Mine has around 50.

Quick question for a current med student (or former Ohio St. undergrads). Is there a lot of bike thefts on campus/near the med school? I'd love to bike to campus but I'd hate to have something happen (especially since it was a gift). Do any students bring their bikes inside?

I've heard that OSU is known for their clinical research. How do med students connect with physicians for clinical research? (eg is there a specific office that most people go through or do we just email physicians independently?)

There are TONS of opportunities to do research here, and you'll get an earful about it once you're here. There's a research day, in which all dep'ts that would like med students to help come and stand around with posters or whatever and just talk to students about their projects and the opportunities they have. That's how I found my summer research.

There are also a good number of class-wide emails from physicians who are looking for help. Also, there's a part of the osumc website dedicated to research and it lists different PI's, their projects, and what they need help with.

Basically, if you want to do research, you will be able to find something easily.
