Fine! I'll own up to the fact I was wrong on that one
I shouldv'e said "ZONE BLITZ'd" like the 90s- present Steelers, not the Steel Curtain of old
I'm a Redskins fan anyways LMAO 😛

An honorable (wo)man admits fallibility.

Also acceptable: "blitzed (Dick 'LeBad*****' LeBeau-style)".

Any of those waitlisted get the email recently asking us to fill out the financial aid stuff?

do all decisions (WL, acceptance, rejection) come in the mail too?

Interviewed on 11/19 and loved the school so much...even went to the M1 and M2 talent shows. Of the 7 schools I interviewed at, students here seem the happiest/nicest/smartest. Have not heard a peep yet. Thank goodness it's the weekend so I can give the "refresh" button a break :d

I got a status update online (with no email sent), then got a letter by snail mail about a week and a half later about my waitlist.

They send out acceptances packages too, but I'm not sure about rejection.

Hey, I have a question about the physician scientist application. When we enter in a person and their email that will recommend us, does anyone know if they answer questions or have to upload a letter? My boss wants to know before hand what he has to do...

Thanks. If not I am thinking I will call Monday and ask...

Hmm I interviewed on 12/1 (loved Pitt also!)... they told us 6 weeks, but I guess I have a while to wait too.

Are waitlisted students eligible to apply for PSTP?

Looks like they've posted some decisions online. I was unfortunately rejected. Interviewed 12/14. Really loved the school, students, and city. Good luck to everyone. Waitlisters, the odds are in your favor, so keep your chins up! (trust me, I've done the math hundreds of times)

accepted today on the online status page, PittMed i don't know how i deserved this but thank you 😍 !! interviewed 11/19.

waitlisted. interview 11/22

Waitlisted as well :/ but keeping my hopes up for sure! Does anyone know exactly how the waitlist works for Pitt? I hear they place many of their candidates on the waitlist but does the majority of the class REALLY come from the waitlist or is that list fairly large and theres a good chance you'll find yourself left out? Any comments are welcomed 🙂

You interviewed 12/14 and have a final decision? How is that possible if people before you haven't received one? Did they start skipping around dates?

Sorry for your news. :luck:

They don't seem to release decisions in order of interview date. I saw people who interviewed significantly later than myself receive waitlist notification before I did.

We were told that we should be hearing something in early February. Guess they got to mine a little earlier. Sounds like they're getting into the tail end of reviews, so my decision could be taken as an indication that they're doing the final rounds.
:luck:

Waitlisted back in December.. (interview end of october.) Hoping to hear back soon...(in the affirmative!) The student who interviewed me (who went to my same undergraduate campus) said she was accepted off the WL in early March.

In my letter, they said they were putting more students on the WL this cycle...anyone have any details about this? (i.e. how many slots they're leaving open for WL'ed applicants?)

Has anyone who interviewed on 12/3 heard back yet?

Hey guys,

To anyone who has been put on the waitlist, have you gotten a Certiphi email yet? I'm trying to figure out if Pitt sent me the Certiphi email b/c I am on the waitlist, or if it was another school offering me an acceptance/waitlist I haven't heard about yet.

Ok, so I interviewed 12/1. My 8 week deadline which based on other people isn't very accurate was last week. So, I thought I would call and just see what was up and the admissions lady was NOT helpful. She said I should hear back in the next couple of weeks. Which makes sense, she mind as well have said, you'll hear back from us...sometime. lol! I mean, of course, she's just telling me what she can but still, when she said the word "weeks" I thought I was going to have a heart attack.👎

has there been a fb group created for the Pitt class of 2015?

I wonder if they have started reviewing pstp applications >.<:xf:

No it's definitely not accurate. I interviewed 11/19 and heard back 1/28, more like 10+ weeks :luck:

waitlisted today 🙁 super disappointed..

interviewed 11/29, 34R 3.7 OOS

how have people been sending updates? by letter or email?

Accepted today via status page!!!! I LOVED this school on my interview day...any one know about a second look weekend?

Stats: Interviewed 12/6, OOS, 3.9, 36R

For those who have been wait-listed....don't give up hope. Youngest daughter who attended Green Ivy League school was initially wait-listed.In my very un-scientific evaluation, once Pitt asked for financial information, she was accepted off the wait list. So...I think thats a pretty good sign.

Good luck!

I have already been asked for my financial aid information from Pittsburgh, and I do not believe it indicates an acceptance as I am still on the waitlist. I assume all waitlisted applicants are asked to fill out financial aid information.

Does anyone know when they start pulling from their waitlist?

Does anyone know when they start pulling from their waitlist?

I believe as early as March.

And as was already mentioned, I do not believe receiving a request for financial aid info is any indication of your likelihood of being accepted from the wait list. I would be very happy if it did, but I find it unlikely.

Interviewed early in September, wait-listed in late October,. The request for financial information came in February and she was accepted 2 weeks later.

Great thanks for the info!

My troll detector is going crazy.

No decisions were released before mid-November, and the waitlist isn't even looked at until A) the entire interview pool has been reviewed and B) the ivies release their decisions (~March 15th).

nygiant was talking about last year. If the FinAid request came in late february then that could fit the timeline from last year... Why a parent with a child in med school (i.e. fully grown and independent, presumably) is on here is beyond me.

I've heard that they finished interviews a month earlier than last year... I was wondering if anyone might know if this means that they might be pulling from the WL earlier this year too?

tlaloc87....I wouldn't worry about why I am here....if I were you, I'd worry about your chances of getting into medical school.
Like I said in my 1st post....those on the waiting list, don't give up hope!

Seriously? I'm not the one that called you a troll. I'm not about to start a flame war with you, but--FWIW--I have multiple acceptances to medical school.

BTW, nygiant, I just checked your previous posts. Congrats on having multiple multiple children in med school. You must be so proud 🙂

good luck tlaloc87

You bet I am!!!!

Anyone know anything about establishing PA residency. The financial aid office made it sound like it is hard because you are suppose to prove you moved to PA for a reason besides school, but my friend was just at UPitt Law and was able to establish it for 2nd and 3rd year with utility bills, drivers license, and voter registration. Thoughts?!
