I got a call on Sunday evening (10/17) with news that I was accepted. Still haven't received anything in the mail yet, though.

Got a letter in the mail today, seemed to be a very nicely worded waitlist letter. Said something along the lines of "we could not offer you an immediate invitation at this time, we will be reconsidering your application throughout the admissions season." I don't think anyone should be too worried at this point, I don't think that many people got offers on the first meeting. I'm hoping to hear back in the coming months![]()
I still have no letter. What is the deal?!
For those of you who have received decisions, does anyone know what the most recent interview date that has heard back is?
Interview/secondary invite today! Submitted 9/28!
1st or 2nd years might give a better answer, but when I was in class it was typically 8-12ish lecture. Afternoon might have some kind of lab a couple days a week, or a physical diagnosis class/CELA lab, or journal club, etc. You are also expected to use some of the afternoons for Emphasis, though I didn't typically need to. I'd say around 2-3 afternoon were freeish on average. Anatomy is a little more full because there's so much lab. Studying is also often done in the lab too, so you'll probably be there a lot. Hope that helps. For any current students, how long is your day in class? Like, when does the day start and end, and how is lab incorporated into your week?
Does Vanderbilt send out these separately?
For you guys that interviewed at Vanderbilt, do they have any policy against thank you notes, or is it acceptable to send one to our interviewer?
I'm really confused. The admissions office said that students get a letter whether they are accepted, wait-listed, or rejected. If they sent out letters last Monday, why don't I have anything yet? I interviewed august 20! I tired of waiting.
OMG...just got the call from Dean Zic an hour ago! Interviewed on 9/27. Loved Vandy 🙂

congrats cole
i felt so confident about this one.
congrats cole
still nothing for me though 🙁
i felt so confident about this one. my interviewer kept saying things like "when you come here, you can take advantage of this opportunity, etc." he also followed up with me and sent me a few references he had mentioned.
he is also an interviewer known to give out pretty good reviews.
i guess i havent received a letter or anything yet, but still
Sounds like you had Dr. Lefkowitz. . !
i did lol. did you? how was your experience with him?
Got the call from Dr.Zic monday at 8:00pm! Interviewed there October 5th and happy that this process is all over because I loved Vanderbilt and don't need to go to any other interviews now

Clint, thanks for clearing that up for me.
"At Vanderbilt, you must declare through the degree you select for which program you intend to apply (MD or MSTP); you may not apply to both programs simultaneously."
Ok, so if I put my application in and potentially interview for MSTP does that mean I'm not eligible for the MD program then, if I get rejected from MSTP? Don't most, if not all, medical schools put you in the MD pool if you have applied for MSTP and got rejected for MSTP? I'm not well versed on this, just curious.
This will be my last question on here, sorry.
Good luck to all being interviewed for this great medical school!

1. Can I be considered for both the MSTP and MD only program?
Yes, but not at the same time. The programs have independent admissions committees, and applicants can be evaluated by only one committee at a time. If a student is offered admission to the MD program, he or she may request the MSTP at that time. Alternatively, if a student is not granted admission to the MSTP, he or she may request an application to the MD only program considered by the School of Medicine Admissions Committee prior to December 15th.
I was wondering the same thing. They didn't mention it at the interview. Any ideas other interviewees??
Emailed Dr. Sagen asking about my status and she sent me an email copy of my waitlist letter. 🙁🙁🙁 I really, really, really want to go to Vandy. I am hoping that the rumors of Vandy only accepting a few people right off the bat and then the waitlist moving pretty quickly are true. This really is my top choice. Totally devastated.
