Congrats to all those accepted recently 🙂 Seriously enjoy the time you have before school starts because then the real hard work begins! I've only been through anatomy block so far but I can reassure you that it has been excellent: you get fantastic teachers, TAs, and you'll be in an environment that wants you to succeed. If you have any questions, let me know.

For those waitlisted, don't worry! Keep updating with new activities and renewing your interest if this is really where you want to be. I was accepted off the waitlist myself in early May. :luck:
 
I was wondering if any of the Med-MAR applicants had any luck so far? I guess I've been "small pooled" for a while now and I was wonder if an interview is likely or if that letter was just an attempt to make more money or really an effort to diversify the school.
 
I just got an MD/PhD interview invite for next week, and I'm super excited. Anyone know anything about the interview process for Wake's MD/PhD program? It's really small, so I'm guessing not...

Interview invite this morning. The soonest date was in December. Complete 8/27. So excited!

i am a medmar too and i got the letter actually after i had already applied and received the secondary. I received an interview
 
So how long does it take for them to determine if you get a secondary or not?

I just got the "Primary Application Received" email..

Also, I was waitlisted for the entering class of 2009... took a year off to better my application through shadowing, more upper level science classes, and volunteering... hopefully they won't screen me out this year..

2-4 weeks depending on where you fall in with the next batch of applications. From when my application was complete until when I received notification they were sending a secondary was about 3 weeks. Then, of course, it was another week before I actually received the secondary application email itself.

So 2-4 weeks to get the secondary... or 2-4 weeks before they make a decision (screen you)

It says 1-2 weeks... but I was wondering if a decision is made quicker than that...

I wonder who actually decides...haha

My experience was that I received the initial AMCAS receipt email from WF in beginning of September, but my MCAT score wasn't released until later half of September. I periodically (almost daily) checked my application status online and around the middle of October my status had changed saying I would be receiving a secondary via email soon, a few days later I received the secondary email. So from the time my MCAT score was posted (primary complete) to when I actually received the secondary was about a month.

Do you know how small it is or the chances of acceptance?
 
My status has been updated to "Your Secondary Application has been recieved (sic)." I submitted the secondary about 2 weeks ago. The status goes on to explain they load everything in batches so it may be another 2-3 weeks before my file is complete. Is that to say that 2-3 weeks from now I will be complete and reviewed. From everyone that has received an invite or rejection after secondary submission, what was the general timeline (shortest to longest)?

My understanding is that it depends on where Wake is in the current cycle. You may have just missed the recent batch of invites and therefore will end up waiting the said two to three weeks. On the other hand, you could be on the tail end of the current cycle and receive a decision in a few days. Personally I received an update in three days.

You might want to go back through the thread and see when the last invites went out (assuming someone from sdn was invited then). That might give you a rough idea of where they are in the current cycle.

I agree with this post. It depends whether they just sent out a batch of invites. For me, I was complete on a Thursday, and my status changed to "interview requested" less than 2 days later.
 
After you send in letter saying you accept the seat in the class along with the deposit, the status changes to indicate receipt of letter and payment.

To current Wake Forest students or past interviewers, which airport should I arrive in? Also, how much would a cab ride from the airport to the school cost? I'm hoping to book my ticket soon so any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

to anyone who interviewed on/around 10/25: does anyone else remember them saying that we would hear a decision around November 10th? I know that the decision will be reflected on the status page and I'm just wondering when I should start checking

I interviewed the week before you, and was told we'd hear something back 11/3. Checked my status and email today, no word. Maybe tomorrow as it's already 3:30 PM on the East Coast right now.
 
I believe they meet on wednesday evenings every two weeks. Decisions were posted on the following friday just before 5pm est.

I got off at Greensboro airport, very small without much to do so plan to bring a book/laptop? Anyway I stayed at a hotel near the school and cab ride from the airport to the hotel was $55 each way (not including tip). I'm assuming that's how much it'd cost you to get to the school from the airport as well, maybe a tad bit more.
 
It is actually cheaper to rent a car. For one day it is about $34.00, so if you are okay with driving that will definitely be the cheaper option
 
So, today my status changed twice. First it went from the "Secondary received, wait 2-3 weeks" to "Under review" then to "Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March. If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview."

What can I infer from this? Also, as to that status update I have read the thread and apparently it means you are in the invitation pool. Has anyone yet been rejected from this update.

I had that status and I was invited for an interview a couple of weeks later.
 
Hopefully some of us will be hearing something any second now...

November 10 is right they will send emails as well so u don't have to check the website

ok. how do you know it will be exactly on the 10th? someone earlier in the thread said that they meet on wednesdays and then reveal the decisions on the following friday.

I interviewed around the same time and I remember they said decisions would be made on Nov 3rd and we should hear back around the 10th, I am not sure if it is exactly the 10th though.

She told us they will meet this Wednesday the 3rd and will let us kno the following Wednesday. The 10 th. I didn't hear anything this Friday so I don't think we get it on Friday the following Wednesday

anyone remember how wake forest does grades? was it honors/p/f?
 
Woke up to an acceptance e-mail! Interviewed 10/20 so yeah 3 weeks wait. I think at my interview the students talk about second look visit? Does anyone know for sure if Wake offers that? It'd be nice to get more answers and see the school again because circumstances not related to the school during my interview day made me depressed and I wasn't as attentive as I normally am.

I recently interviewed at this school and am absolutely in love with it!!!! Wake show me so love back and let me in! 😀
 
So I visit WF page just now to check my status and it says "Cannot find application number."

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Yeah, same here - hopefully they'll have it fixed soon.

Or maybe this is a sign that I shouldn't be checking my status so often haha 😀
 
Still can't log on. Maybe it's the silent rejection.
