My status just changed from the "we are looking at your app" to this:

"You will be receiving notification of your application status by e-mail."

Has anyone else seen this one?

Mine too, I believe it means we did NOT pass the screen. Alot of people got, "We reviewed your application and you will receive a secondary by email. They come out in batches" or something of the sorts, mine says i will receive "notification" by email. I'm assuming that means they are no longer considering my application. 🙁

Yes, when I previously applied in 08/09, I got that email, and did not get a secondary. Hopefully that is not the case for you. Best of luck.

For the individuals who are worried they got pre-pre-screened and haven't even received one email from Wake Forest yet (like me) --

I just spoke with them and they hadn't even received my application yet. I was verified 7/2 but I guess AMCAS doesn't like me too much.

Hopefully they get my app soon. 🙁

I figure if I don't hear anything by Friday I will call again because by then my application would have been verified for 2 weeks... and they should have gotten it. hopefully.

anyone here know someone who's in the MD/MBA program??? Wake forest and U of Rochester (NY) are the only 2 schools that have the MBA portion first (before the basic science MD years). Any comments would be great! 🙂

I'll be taking the GMAT next week...

I'm contemplating MD/MBA, but at most schools, its possible to enter that program once you've started as a MD student. Because of the way Wake does their program, I guess you have to apply now if you want to do the joint program.

To apply for MD/MBA at Wake do you have to to submit a separate application to the business school with separate LORs and everything?

I'm at the lower end Of WF's cGPA/sGPA/MCAT range. Wondering how they have 3.4GPA as the lower end of their range if they screen people out??

I have a 3.62 cGPA and 29P. Should I still go for it?? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

Still waiting for my secondary. July 6th they sent me the status site which when I logged in already said I will be receiving a secondary within two weeks... guess they might actually wait two weeks haha

Edit: Pink go for it. Worst case is you are screened and wasted $30. It's not too much if you really are interested in their school and your stats are decent.

I submitted my primary app on June first and my Wake Forest status page still says:

Your AMCAS application is under review. When the review is complete, you will be sent an e-mail notification of your status.

... getting a little worried with the delay. Please please screen me in!

I got screened in late season 2009 with a 29P and 3.8 cGPA and got an interview but was waitlisted.

I got screened in this year too. So there is hope!

NICE. This gives me hope. I have a 29S and a 3.76 cGPA 👍

So I haven't received a single contact email from this school and not sure if they received my primary yet, even though I was verified late June. 3.6 cGPA/3.5 sGPA/35R MCAT, definitely not going to put adcoms in awe but I didn't think I'd be screened out so early? I'm OOS too.

just got rejection email oos. not even a secondary. I feel really bad and I have 31 3.85 s3.9. may b i have bad LORs? or is it my PS? I am just freaked out. Nice way to start the cycle by getting rejected pre secondary. :cry:

Apparently they don't screen based off simply gpa/mcat. I got rejected and they said they "individually reviewed each application"

I'm sorry man :cry: Don't let this be a downer for you. You've got great stats, and you'll definitely get in somewhere.

A pre-secondary screen can be a downer, but you will have to learn to deal with rejections anyways. Better this way than having them string you out for a secondary fee and essays for which you could have better used your time.
I wish more schools would do pre-secondary screens like Wake.

Would you rather get the secondary without screening and pay $100 for them to look at it and reject you, or have them look at it, decide if you're a good fit, and then let you empty your wallet?

JUST heard from this school. The email said that my app had been received for AMCAS and they would let me know when they needed further info.

When I checked my status on the website, it read: "Your primary application from AMCAS has been received. It is being evaluated and you will be sent an e-mail notification of your status within 1-2 weeks."

Hopefully, that means I'll be sent a secondary in that time frame - guess we'll wait and see.

Me too! I'm under review. Do any of you know if Wake Forest has a tendency for accepting nontraditional applicants? By the time I matriculate into medical school (hopefully somewhere will accept me!) I will have been out of undergrad for 3 years.

Yes -- can someone send ksmi the secondary questions.

I assume that they are the same as last year and a beast. I don't plan on tackling them until i actually get screened in for this reason... but it's nice to have an idea of what I am going to do.

I don't think that the 2010-2011 secondary is out yet?? I could be wrong. The folks posting recently I think are talking about being complete and how long the review process is. That's my take on it.

oooo totally didn't realize that. I thought every time someone said they were screened in, they received the secondary. i was starting to be worried that by the time I got the secondary, I would be wayyyy behind in the timeline. but I guess that isn't true.

I was screened in and that's when they tell the candidate that the secondary will be out in ~2 weeks. It's been about 2 weeks since that message though, and I still don't have their secondary.

OOS 29M c3.67 s3.71 screened in for secondary... obviously they look at more than just stats. Guessing it was the volunteer FF/EMT thing that put me over, but honestly, who knows?

mine has said this for a couple of weeks. I got an email from them today asking for an additional piece of information. Hopefully that's good news.

Just called in a few minutes ago. The rep. said that they are working on a new secondary, and are having some technical difficulties. She said she hopes it'll be up by the end of the week, but could take another week or two. I'm assuming the questions are going to be different from last year.
