Interviewed mid-December, waitlisted this morning.

Does anyone have any idea as to how many people are wait listed?

Does anyone have any idea as to how many people are wait listed?

This is about the only thing I found from last years thread. It was posted in mid April, and not sure how accurate it is-

"Yes, I think there are over 100 people on the waiting list. When I called to ask about the WL, I got the impression that it could be around 200+ people before people start telling them that they don't want to be on it anymore. I'm not sure what that number comes down to once they eliminate people who don't want to stay on the WL."

Does anyone remember a discussion of grading schemes? Is Dartmouth Pass/Fail for both the first and second year, or just the first year? (I found that result somewhere in my googling, but it may have been out of date)

Haven't heard anything one way or another since my mid-November interview...anyone in the same boat?

Just creeped you; looks like we interviewed on the same day! Can't quite place you (based on the vagueness of your profile), but then again there were a bazillion people at our interview day.

ETA: You have some serious interviewing stamina.

Judging from last year's thread, it seems that Dartmouth is sending out decisions earlier this time around. (Assuming that the people who reported decisions recently aren't all fresh interviewers)

Now that people are starting to get on the waitlist, is it safe to assume that those who are still awaiting a response are ranked higher? Probably just wishful thinking...

I think so.

Gorgeous school with super friendly people: would love to come here too 🙄 can't wait till acceptances come out

Candav: here is something for you (last year according to MSAR: 500 or so international students applied, 27 interviewed, 16 matriculated)----it seems that our odds post-interview are pretty darn good don't ya think?

And LOLLL Cinclus it seems that we are both waiting for washu and dartmouth to come out. Candav, I also have a gazillion schools in common with you for post-interview decisions. I am Canadian too 🙂

Wow those are crazy odds for internationals... I'm Canadian too but have already been waitlisted

Hm, 6 international applicants on the same page. Either we're overrepresented on this thread or Dartmouth decided to interview more of us. Given some waitlist movement, 16/27 is an awesome news for all internationals who haven't been outright rejected after the interview.

Also, going through last year's thread, I don't see any post-interview rejection at all. Of course, that may be skewed due to rejected people not reporting, which wouldn't surprise me.

I have not heard anything since November either...I wish I knew if any post-interview rejections went out..

My thoughts, too. Same situation with Cornell -- last year, they apparently only interviewed 16/300+ international applicants, but I get the feeling more were invited this year. Good luck, everyone!

I'm interviewing here on the 14th but I'll be staying around town for a few days extra. Is there anywhere near here I should explore?

I recommend going to look at the Quechee Gorge and visit the official Cabot Creamery cheese sampling station in nearby Quechee, VT. They were beautiful and delicious, respectively. 🙂

From my understanding of what Andrew Welch said is he starts from the top Accepting/Waitlisting and from the bottom Rejecting/Waitlisting. So at this point who knows where anyone would be if you haven't heard, only that your somewhere in the middle

Hood museum of art in Hanover.

I interviewed in early December. Hoping there is significant waitlist movement.
( and by significant I mean they offer me a spot haha)

So DMS rejects post interview?

See below 😀

Is this school still sending out interviews?
Yes, I just got one this morning...but its for March 13th 2012...doesnt all decisions have to be released by March 15th?!?!

i'm contemplating on going or not since its rolling. Possibly just for waitlist spots. Plus, NH is far away and its cold.
😵

Out of curiousity, when was your app complete?

Congratulations! Thanks for letting us know.

Not to be rude, but I'm sure there are plenty of applicants that would LOVE the opportunity to interview here despite the location/weather (believe it or not the NE climate is appealing to some of us). If you're not serious about attending, please consider politely declining the II and making room for those who are truly interested.

I love cold weather so I concur here.

The viewbook states that they interview through April.

It doesn't seem "true" rolling to me. The reason they wait so long to send out the bulk of their acceptance decisions is so that they can incorporate everyone that they've interviewed into their ranked list.

The AAMC recommendation (which is still just a recommendation) is that the school releases at least as many seats as can fill the entire class by March 15. But Dartmouth accepts many more than the number of students in one class. So even if Dartmouth does follow the recommendation, there are plenty of opportunities for acceptance after March 15.

Cinclus I agree with you. This school does not operate on the basis of a true rolling admission policy.

Anyone hear anything post interview lately?

If anyone is looking to get to an interview on the 8th of March, I'm driving from the Manchester Airport on March 7th, then returning the evening of the 8th. Unfortunately student hosting was impossible as it finals (I emailed 17 people, with about 13 negative responses), so I'm staying in hotels on the 7th and 8th (Hanover and near MHT respectively). I'd love to do the drive with someone, PM me if you are interested!

I am doing the same thing but interviewing on the 6th and flying out of Logan. I plan on sightseeing on the 5th and heading down to Boston after the interview.

II today (complete since October). Seems like they're still working on it. Don't lose hope peeps!!

id be flying in from china so i was contemplating the chances of actually making the trip worthwhile because i thought all decisions were march 15th so as to make the flight actually worth it.

I was complete sometime in late sept.

You still have a chance of being accepted. That being said, if you're already accepted at med school you like are the expense and time of flying in from China worth the ~1 in 3 chance of being accepted at Dartmouth? Only you can answer that.

I'm having troubling finding past match lists. Can anyone help? The ones I've found only list the specialty and state, not the actual location.
