Complete August 12th. Still haven't heard a thing.
Do they send rejection emails or snail mail?
MCAT 32, graduate GPA 4.0, WA state resident

I wouldn't worry too much. Last year's thread contains a lot of examples of people who submitted july/august and did not get invited until after December.

I received an interview invite for mid December. I completed my secondary on the 3rd of August.

I was trying to look at admission statistics for International students being a Canadian applicant. Does anyone have information on that front?

I got an invite today too - complete in late July. Also international.

I don't know if this was stated earlier, but at the interview they told us that they accept very slowly to leave as many spots open for people who apply later in the cycle.

That's good news for me; I was complete here at the beginning of the month!

Oh man, interview invite today, complete July 8th! That's got to be a record =O

Are they open to pre-interview letter of interests/ updates?

Just got a rejection email 🙁 Oh well, at least I have other interviews coming up. Good luck to everyone else waiting 🙂

for the people who have interviewed here, i am wondering if interviews normally end at 3:30 as the itinerary states, or if they usually end sooner? i am driving back to boston as soon as the interview is over and i want to gauge whether or not i can make it back to boston by 6 pm to return the rental car. thanks!

If you wish, you can e-mail the admissions administrative assistant and request for your interviews to be earlier. I was able to have my interviews done by 2:30 (my shuttle came to pick me up around 3).

A student last year told me they got their acceptance via snail mail. This year some people are saying they got emails. Does anyone who interviewed remember what they said notifications?

Email with attached documents, received letter in the mail about a week later. There was also a handwritten note in the letter.

But rejections are exclusively through snail mail right?

They def ended on time. There is an optional tour from 330-4ish. But just let the admin staff know they are super nice!

Rejected. No Ivy league for this guy!

Do you think it would hurt to call their office to ask about one's application if you have been complete since late June with no word yet?

Edit: No rejection -- I've been checking spam and everything.

If you do let me know what they say. Complete since mid August with no word. Not quite as long as you, but still pretty significant...

Yeah, I don't think they would mind -- 4 months is a little ridiculous. I'll wait until this most recent culling dies down a little, and if I make it through I'll give them a call to make sure my app didn't get lost or something. 😛

I was complete on July 8th and received an ii last week of Oct so 4 months basically. Don't lose hope!

Congrats! It's been a little over two months for me now, so this gives me some hope. Put in the good word for me while you're there!

It would not hurt you. It shows initiative and interest, two things DMS appreciates in their applicants.

rejection email. Last of my reach schools to reject me. Oh well. 🙂

Good luck everyone else.

Having called before...they are firm on no status updates but if you are complete, the committee will make a decision. My take is there is no way to get insight from the outside and the committee's functions are kept pretty clandestine. It is apparently not uncommon to not hear word for several months.

II today (YES!!!!!) after being complete since 9/13.

Congrats! Bring warm clothes when you go. 🙂

Thanks! I'll be coming from Chicago in December, so it shouldn't be a problem... 😉

I'll be at Dartmouth on 12/20. Anyone else?? Suggestions about places to eat/things to do in the area?

I visited the Quechee Gorge in Vermont and then ate a lot of cheese samples at the Cabot cheese sampling station right next to the gorge. I bought a shirt that says "Extra Sharp." 😀

Interview Invite today! I was complete Aug 16.

Here are my stats:
OOS, 3.3GPA, 38Q MCAT

My II is for Jan. 5, I'm thinking I should buy a coat? (I'm a Georgia resident) 😛

For the love of all that is holy, buy a coat. Besides, nothing is cooler than a smart jacket over a suit! 😎

anyone else really hate DMS's status page?

Rejected via email. Complete late Aug, sent in the area email (don't think it had any effect either way).

Best of luck,

Just got rejection email.
Complete August 12th
32M / OOS / graduate GPA 4.0
Good Luck Everyone! :luck:

Interview invite, but I am almost definitely going to withdraw since I have ~10 interviews already (hopefully safe??) and I'm not enthusiastic about living outside the city. Hope this opens up a spot for people! 🙂

Interviewing next week!

I already have one acceptance in the bag, so I'm less nervous now knowing that in the end, I'll end up in a med school next year 🙂

Just wondering what the interview format was like? Seems like a long day...

Was it short conversational interviews about random topics one-on-one?

Thanks for any input on the day!

I remember the interviews lasting about a half hour each (there were two, one-on-one). My first one was really conversational, and my second one was conversational in a random, awkward way.
