how long does it take to get marked complete after submitting the secondary? i submitted over 2 weeks ago and still am not complete..

I was complete as soon as my payment went through. I'd call them and see what's up.

I submitted 9/9 and was not complete until 9/28. I think that as it gets later, everything takes a little longer.

Next round of decisions are decided tomorrow!! I wanted to send out some good luck to all those still waiting.

:banana::banana:Good Luck everyone!!!!:zip::zip:

Anyone hear yet how they plan on contacting us if we're accepted when decisions are made today? Getting nervous over here haha. Good luck!

how do you know it will be tomorrow morning? Last time it was the day of during the afternoon

Dean told me as well adcomm meeting is today. He said they would send a letter via snail mail after it. Didn't hear anything bout a phone call but really hope that's true. Hopefully the calls weren't this morning, ha. I don't see anyone posting an acceptance so fingers crossed I'll get a call any minute. Good luck to everybody.

I interviewed on October 19th and the Dean said that letters for my interview date would be mailed out today. However, I also overheard him when in the Admissions Office leaving a voicemail for someone accepted at about 1:00 PM. I have yet to hear anything today, but it sounds like they call sometime in the afternoon as well as sending out a letter. Good luck to everyone else waiting to hear back!

I know a lot of the phone calls last time were on Monday morning. However, after searching around Stritch threads from previous years I saw some applicants were called on Saturdays and some were called around 6:00pm during the week. So, I really think it can be anytime after they have one of their meetings. I never received a call I just got an acceptance letter with a yellow sheet they had me fill out and send back in to hold my spot. Looks like Loyola is trying to keep us on our toes. 🙂

Does there seem to be any geographical correlation to letter receivers and phone callers? For instance, do most of the people who only received letters live in the Chicagoland area? Do some of the phone callers live out of state where mail would take longer? Probably no correlation, it just seems funny if it's random.

EDIT:

Nevermind, I called and asked. Whether or not you get a phone call is completely at the discretion of your interviewer.

I interviewed on 10/25 and they told us that the committee would be meeting on 11/14 to make the decisions. So I guess they're only discussing candidates interviewed before sometime between 10/19 and 10/25.

Just got the call from the Dean!!!!!!!!!! ahhhh first acceptance! I interviewed October 13th

Got a phone call from the dean at 6:07 pm cst. Calls definitely are going out (at least some calls) tonight. Best of luck everyone! Can't wait to meet my future class mates!!!

No call today 🙁 Is it possible to still get accepted via snail mail without a phone call from the Dean?

Missed a 708 area code phone call at 6:48PM tonight....I'M IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

soo...too soon to start looking for good apartments in the area? 😍😍😍😍

Yes. The dean told me that not everyone was getting a phone call upon acceptance (not sure how he selected who to call... probably had something to do with interviewees or a coin flip...)
He did mention that letters would be going out tomorrow morning, so I would anticipate something in the next week or so if you are relatively close to Chicago.

and no...definitely not too soon to look for apartments. I am ecstatic I can stop looking in DC haha!!

That's what happened to me.

Also, I know it seems like a year away. But the admissions office will be able to specifically answer status questions on Thursdays between 8:30 - 5:00 pm cst. If I were you that's probably when I'd badger them haha. Best of luck!👍

I know I've been checking out apartments online/ day dreaming about medical school. What I want to know is it too early for a "Loyola Stritch School of Medicine Class of 2016" facebook page?

I was considering starting it myself. Let me know if you decide to do it! PM me the details.

That seems to make little sense. I'm more likely to believe they forget to call some than a random group of lucky winners

I called them today to ask. Letters won't be sent until tomorrow morning. Calls go out based on whether or not your interviewers wanted to give you a call/wanted you to get a call. This doesn't make perfect sense though because the dean is the one making the calls.

What if he just runs out of time and doesn't have time to call every single person? I'm sure he'd love to call everyone, but I would guess he's a pretty busy guy.

Never to early to start the FB group. In fact, I'm disappointed it hasn't been done yet ! On the other hand, definitely too early for apartments, haha. There are tons of vacancies around Stritch you will have no problem finding a solid place to live near school.

Congrats to the acceptances. Can't wait to pick on you guys (kidding... kind of) next year :meanie:👍

Just started a group. "Loyola Stritch Class of 2016". I made it a closed group, so you have to request to be a member. Feel free to start introducing yourself and meeting your classmates (I apologize in advance if it takes me a day or so to approve the request, I have made SDN my new fav. website haha). Looking forward to meeting all of you.

Finally got a status change which now says the following:

"Your file has been reviewed by the Committee on Admissions. The review process is continuous from now until the conclusion of our interview season in mid-April. If you are granted an interview, you will be contacted by phone and/or e-mail."

I expect a rejection.

This is actually a hold status. This is not a rejection. It just means you will have to wait until January or February until you receive anymore news. People have been interview and accepted after being given this status.

i too got a call from heaven! the whole calling process is so random

Hey all the newly accepted students, feel free to join the fb group "Loyola Stritch Class of 2016". It's closed now, so I will have to confirm you. Lets start meeting our classmates!

Congrats on the all of the acceptances guys and gals! This is my top choice school and would love to join the party!

Any II recently? I finally was marked complete today. SS 9/24

👍 haha yeah I have to agree. Though I sometimes wonder if I'm putting too much effort for these classes nowadays

How fast has the turnaround been for interview day and acceptance?

Yeah, I'm trying to convince my self these last classes are going to hopefully make me a better doctor, even if the only thing I learn is how to do something I really don't want to do. Also, the acceptance letter talks about how we need to keep our grades up. I don't know how they enforce that, but it scares me enough to keep working hard.
