When did you interview?Came home to a post-interview rejection letter. Really shocked and wondering what I did wrong 🙁 Seems like they don't send too many straight up rejections post interview.
Anyone who interviewed on Jan 20th heard anything yet? 😕

Same here. Well, let's hope for an active waitlist...Received the waitlist letter on Saturday. Letter dated 2/24.
Interviewed 2/1.
Good luck everyone!
For those of you still waiting for news, don't give up yet. I received an interview invite 2/26 for an interview on 3/2! I've been complete since early September, so I definitely wasn't expecting this!
This happened to me too. I was totally surprised, but very excited!
Hey guys...does anyone know what the agenda is for second-look weekend? I know it's friday and saturday but is it like an all day thing on both days? Might only be able to make it for one day and trying to figure out which day would be better.
Also, anyone know if there is a fb group for the Stanford Class of 2016 yet?
Thanks!!

Not sure about the agenda, but according to the most recent e-mail, events actually begin the evening of the 12th.
And no, I don't believe there's a FB group for C/O 2016 (or perhaps more formally, the Entering Class of 2012). It's all you...

Yeah, I think they might have some night-time activities planned for the 12th?
Either way, I'm excited to visit again!
Thanks guys! I emailed the admissions office and they said they're still finalizing things, but that Friday would probably be the busiest day (and you're right, I think festivities do start Thurs night!) I have another revisit weekend at the same time and i'm trying to decide whether to split my time or pick one. Stanford's should be pretty great though, I'm super excited!

Doesn't look very full yet...

I hope so with all my heart. There's still no place I'd rather be than Stanford for medical school, residency, fellowship, and life!.... I'm really not exaggerating.

So did I! But I didn't cry, so now I feel ungrateful....
WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
If we haven't heard anything yet, what do you guys think are the chances that we're still under consideration (are they even sending out any more invites?) versus the chance that our rejection letters are lost in the mail/still on the way...
I still haven't heard anything yet either, though at this point, I assume I'm just waiting for a rejection letter. Is anyone else in this position?

Didn't expect anything, but finally got my closure. Called them and they said they're sending out a batch of pre-interview rejections today.

Are they done with interviewing then?
I interviewed on 3/2 and they said it was definitely the last interview day -- sorry 🙁 and good luck with other places!

I was accepted to Stanford Medical School. I wanted to ask current students about flexibility in non-medical interests. I'm interested in doing fine arts, but I don't necessarily want to do the concentration. Is it possible to concentrate in Clinical Research, and then just take classes at the undergraduate campus in fine arts? Would Med Scholars cover two projects (one for clinical research, one for a visual arts project)?
Just wondering if it is feasible to do core courses, do clinical research, AND continue my interest in painting at Stanford.

Congrats! When did you interview if you don't mind?

not sure of the exact time, but I know that they are only setting us up to stay with medical students on Thursday and Friday night, and not Saturday night, so I'd guess that everything probably ends by Saturday afternoonAnybody know (maybe from previous years) how late Admit Weekend activities go to on the last day? I'm trying to book my flight out of SF and trying to find the best time. Thanks!
Preview of this year's Match. Pretty freaking ridiculous- really not a weak member of the pack. ~60% of graduates matched at Stanford, Harvard, or UCSF.

I was rejected pre-interview. Letter was dated March 5, but didn't get to WI until 3/17 for whatever reason.

Nothing yet either, I'd expect some info pretty soon.
can a current student please clarify how 3rd year is graded? is it truly P/F?
i came cross this (post #35)--apparently there was a shift to grades? i was under the impression that SMS is truly P/F throughout?? (link below)

The following grading system is used to report the performance of students in all courses and clerkships taken while an MD degree candidate:
- Pass (+) indicates that a student has demonstrated to the satisfaction of the responsible department or teaching group that he/she has mastered the material taught in the course. A marginal passing grade (M+) in preclinical or clinical courses is reported by the faculty to the student and the Medical School Registrars Office.
- Fail (-) indicates that a student has not demonstrated to the satisfaction of the responsible department or teaching group that he/she has mastered the material taught in the course.
- Incomplete (I) grades are given by Advising Deans. An incomplete indicates that extenuating medical or personal circumstances beyond the students control have prevented completion of course requirements. Following approval by an Advising Dean, the Course Director is notified prior to the final examination. An incomplete can be corrected in a manner specified by the department or teaching group and must be corrected within one year (unless the Committee on Student Performance specifies otherwise). When a student takes a final or makeup examination following an incomplete, it becomes a pass, marginal pass or fail. If the student does not attempt to correct the incomplete within the agreed upon time, it becomes a fail.
- Continuing (N) indicates that the course has not concluded, and that the student is continuing the course, or that a required NBME Subject Exam in a clerkship has not yet been passed.
- Exempt (EX) indicates that a course has been exempted by a placement examination. No credit has been granted. The student should register for 00 units so that the course appears on the transcript.
yeah i know, thats what it says on the website, but whatever happened to the talks about switching to grades? can any current students clarify?
