Final pooled, too. Interviewed 11/7 and thought that it went fairly well. 5 interviews - 3 waiting lists - 1 pool - 1 decision pending, man, no medical school really wants me. I am just too sexy for them, I suppose.

Waitlisted today, interviewed 2 Dec (IS).

Very likely. The e-mail says that the last day to add info. to your file is the 25th of January, so everyone probably knows by now if they are final-pooled (gives enough time to add things if you wish). However, I have reason to believe that we were not all reviewed and that everyone who remained in the pile of candidates was just added to the pool.

So everyone interviewed is final pooled...correct?

I really hope you get in. After reviewing past threads, I noticed that this is your third try (maybe more). Your persistence is inspiring.

Interviewed 10/21 and still no email. Anybody else still waiting?

Final pooled! Just called, they will accept 1/3 of their class off of this final pool.

This is encouraging to hear. After how well the interview went I was hoping for an acceptance! Will be looking forward to the next few weeks

Really? That would be... very annoying.

So how does the final pool work for IS vs. OOS folks?

They likely have IS and OOS pools. Going off last years numbers. . . The IS pool has about 210 applicants from which they will accept about 42 and waitlist 50(?) if I remember correctly. So about a 50% of not getting a rejection for you IS'ers. The OOS pool has about 306 applicants with 52 seats left to fill and a 100 person waitlist. Also about a 50% chance of not getting rejected at this point.

+1, interviewed about the same time as you
Man I really hope I get in here on rolling basis!! I was told just now everyone who is still waiting will hear something by the end of the week :xf::xf::xf:

Where did you get this information?

I empathize with those that are in the final pool. I was final pooled last year, ranked low (>35) on the in-state waitlist, and made it into the top 5 waitlist positions before the academic year began. Just keep holding on because it's not over until it's over.

Also, reapplying is not the worst thing in the world. They look very favorably on it here, given that you have worked to improve your app.

Regardless of what happens, good luck to all.

Placed in final pool via email today - interviewed mid Oct, OOS, high stats.

Ambivalent feelings over a vague decision...but I guess it's not a rejection! Still keeping my fingers crossed for Carver - the waiting game continues.

I'll go peruse the thread before whinging about "WAH HOW MANY ACCEPTANCES OFF FINAL POOL" and all that. Good luck everybody!

Anyone know when they start reviewing the final pool? I thought it was around now.

I think review starts after tomorrow. Maybe I'm wrong but tomorrow is last day for updates so I would assume it starts after this week sometime.

Pre-interview rejection letter today (mail). Complete back in June or July.

Gotta say I'm a little glad this day has arrived. Getting final pooled back in Decemeber and seeing all those acceptances made me a little jealous! Good luck to all of us left! (Just a little extra for me!)

Has anybody made a fb group for Carver 2016 yet? I'm not 100% sure about Carver because I'm still waiting on another school's decision, but I liked Carver a lot, and most likely it's where I'll be in the fall. Look forward to meeting some of my future classmates.

To the current students, any experiences with the housing at AKK Fraternity? Seems like the most affordable choice.

Phi Rho is closer so if I were to live at a fraternity it would be that.

Curious to know from anyone accepted so my heart doesnt stop the day i get a piece of mail... Was the acceptance a big envelope type thing or just your standard size?

I got an email first, but if I remember correctly, the acceptance is a bigger envelope. Don't take my word for it though. I really don't remember.

So I just looked through my stuff real quick and realized why I couldn't remember. They sent a small envelope initially with just a congratulations letter and barely anything inside first. Then, I think like a day or two later, I got a bigger envelope with another congratulations and more information.

My initial acceptance was an email. I think the rest of the stuff did come in a big envelope, and the little envelope was to inform us of our state residency?? I don't remember.

Is anyone considering going to the pre-M1 summer school? I am a non-trad and a non-science major and have already applied for it. I also just got accepted to spend the summer in California learning Spanish...decisions decisions.

Yeah, I'm afraid I can't help you with the envelope size, jgrek--my acceptance letter came in the same size envelope as my Stanford rejection.
It was a couple days after the initial email, though. (And followed a few days later by a big envelope.)

And Lefty Doodle, I was curious about the pre-M1 stuff as well, but I'm pretty sure I'll need all the time I can take to pack up and move when it comes to that. And summer in California would be hard to pass up...

So when can we expect to hear back? Do all the final pool applicants hear back at once, or is it 4-8 weeks from our "final pool" decision. Good luck everyone!

In previous years, everybody hears back at the same time. I think it is traditionally the 2nd or 3rd week in March. Everyone in the final pool will either get an acceptance, waitlist with ranking, or rejection letter.

Looking on last years thread it looks like people who were accepted received email notification prior to receiving their letter too. Mid march couldn't come any sooner!

All final pooled applicants will hear back on March 15th. Possible outcomes are a rejection, an acceptance, or an alternate list. The alternate lists are 100 people long for OOS, not sure about in state.
I posted earlier in this thread (Around January 19th) with a lot more details if you're interested.
