I was accepted from the final pool this morning as well!

Interviewed November 2. IS

I'm pretty sure that's it. I think at this point we stalk our mailboxes to see if we're wait listed or rejected. I've scoured these threads a few years back (I'm neurotic like that) and it seems like last year was the first year they sent an email saying "a final decision was made" to all applicants in the final pool. The next day the accepted got an email, and those wait listed and rejected waited for the mail. My guess is they just decided not to send the "a final decision has been made emails" this year.

Pretty bummed I didn't get one of those shiny acceptance emails. I'm IS, fortunate enough to have gotten in elsewhere, but this was my first choice. Keeping my fingers crossed for a high wait list spot.

So the letter will have either a waitlist including a number or a rejection?? Being only 1 state away I am afraid to check my box....

LOL - Ok so I am not as nervous as you...hopefully I get at least one more day of happiness at the thought of a waitlist spot...I don't even care how high it is!!!!!

1) letters have been sent for waitlist/rejection
2) the letter WILL have a ranking

Were you able to get your decision over the phone?

I tried to ask more questions (including that one!), but I was told that once the letter came I could call and discuss further, it sounded like it should be coming pretty soon like in the mail already.

Yes, I received the decision via mail, and rank was included in the letter.

So let's see if we can figure all of this out.
1) Acceptances went out yesterday morning. Were these all of the initial acceptances from the final pool?
2) Those who did not receive an acceptance e-mail should be accepting a letter in the mail in the next week. The letter will be a waitlist with number or a flat out rejection.
3) If I remember correctly, you must confirm that you want to stay on the waitlist. Once these confirmations are determined then a new list comes out.
4) Pray.

What am I missing/what's wrong?

That sounds right to me, but I'm a little fuzzy on #3. Interviewed back in Nov.

Just wanted to ease some concerns and say that this is not entirely correct, they accepted way more than 2 off the OOS wait-list last year. My brother was something like #82 on the OOS wait-list and he got in.

For all you out of staters, there is generally a lot of movement on Iowa's wait list. One year they exhausted the list. So don't be discouraged!
