Thanks for the heads up Covert. Let's hope some of the good karma from the Terps win last night carries over here...

right there with you! and how about those new uniforms?!

Thank you very much for the info!

I actually had this same problem: two of my letters were marked as "not received", even though I submitted them to AMCAS two months earlier. I called Admissions, and for some reason they were there, just not processed as received (?). If you think they should have them, I would give them a call.

Sorry, was not sure if the question was directed at me or docdonny. IS, got the "secondary received" email on August 18, interview email today.

Good luck to everyone 😍

IS or OOS?

received an interview yesterday as well - OOS complete 7/28

is there a consensus whether or not you have to send in the in-state residency form before you are considered complete?

i called admissions. they say the residency form goes straight to records for in-state tuition consideration. youre complete without it. in order to take state of residency into account when reviewing your application they look at your primary.

awesome! thanks so much! yay, now i can procrastinate! haha

Okay I'm a little confused...you guys got application complete emails?

All of my material has been checked as complete on the status page for over a month now but I haven't gotten an email. I've called twice about this and both times they said they don't even send out complete emails because they're too busy for that......whattttt? 😕

Freddie, there is no "complete" email. The only email that comes out has the subject "University of Maryland School of Medicine -- Secondary Application Received." You can also see the complete status on the original secondary application page.

On a side note, are there any UMD undergrad applicants who had letters uploaded from the HPAO for the priority deadline at the end of July with invites yet?

I graduated from UMD in 2010 and I made the priority deadline for HPAO. They didn't upload my letters until August 5th, which I felt was really late for what they say is a "priority deadline". I received the complete e-mail on August 11, but no interview yet. Hoping it will come soon :xf:

Sunshine, I'm a UMD alum and also in the Science in the Evening Program. I'm fairly confident most of us are in the same boat in terms of timing. I'm sure that the Admissions Office is used to the UMD timeline...hopefully we won't be penalized for that! Good luck.

I hope so! Good luck to you as well, hopefully we'll be in the same medical school class come next fall 🙂

Okay..I never even received the "secondary received" email...hm. But the lady on the phone seemed pretty annoyed by my probing.

Does the secondary status page say "application complete" for you? Mine just has time stamps of when I paid/certified, etc. and have checks next to each of the materials.

It just has the checkmarks.

Does anybody know if this school actually accepts international students? particular Canadians 😀 Debating whether or not to submit my secondary. Thanks!

when writing the essay about my most profound clinical experience, should I reiterate the most important points that I already covered in my AMCAS "most meaningful experience", or should I discuss other significant points that I did not have room to cover on AMCAS? basically, will they look at both together, or should I put all my eggs in the secondary basket? thanks in advance!

Interview invite received 9/6; scheduled for 9/26. Complete email received 07/28
In-state; URM

😀

i emailed them about an incorrect address on my application an entire month ago -- they haven't responded. should i be worried about this? i mean...do they even send anything by snail maiL?

i guess i could call them -- anyone have good experiences with that?

Hey all,

I'm a current MS-1 at UMB, if you have any questions about the school itself, the application process, or anything else feel free to ask.

Best of luck to all of you!

Ya, we've got a canadian in our ms3 class!

Looking forward to againstallodds helping me to answer questions. Ive been manning the umb board on my own for several years.

does anyone know when the next set of interviews will be given out? What frequency are they generally given out in (every 1, 2, or 3 weeks?)?

Thank you! I'm very excited - Maryland is my top choice. Stay positive, the interview invite will come soon. I will keep my fingers crossed for you 🙂

congrats!

I'm IS as well, and received app complete email 8/11, so I am hopeful for some good news soon!

What are your stats? I was complete around the same day.... 🙁

I know how you feel. I was complete 7/28, am in-state, and have not heard anything yet. I'd really love to get an interview here, so I hope I hear some good news soon!

Same as you Fishah, this waiting is horrible.

The interview was great. I met with two faculty members since it was too early in the year for students to begin serving as interviewers. The facilities were great and random students I talked to seemed to really like the school. The grading system was the only thing I didn't like since they use the A,B,C,D grading system. I'm a much bigger fan of pass/fail lol. My group was told that we would hea back the week of oct 16th. They really stressed that its not all about scores and grades and they were looking for students who would be a good fit.

nice...Yea definitely my top choice!
Does anyone know how many of the instate interviewees they accept?

thanks

This thread is awfully quiet compared to last year... What's going on?? 😕

Anyone interview lately? Hear anything...something?

I know I read some earlier posts about letters being marked as not received... anyone have any luck with calling the admission office? I submitted my secondary 9/16 and letters are still marked with a red X. Time to call?
