So....March is upon us. Based on the threads from the last two years, we could see decisions start rolling in any day. Let's start a roll call that we can update as people hear back. It won't mean much statistically, but it will give us something to do to pass the next four weeks. If you will reply with the following information, I will add you to the roll call and I will maintain this list based on posts to this thread:

By the way, does anyone know how many or what percentage of the 250 out of state candidates that University of Utah interviews are from Idaho?

You guys are going to give yourselves ulcers. I saw students interviewing yesterday which means you won't hear anything for weeks still. Maybe I am wrong and they have changed something but I wouldn't plan on hearing anything until the first week of April.
 
I agree with above statement.... trust me, I know we all have type-A personalities cause we will be doctors but this roll call stuff is straight up silliness. You can post and post till your hearts content but it won't change the day that you find out about your acceptance status. I almost joined in with this tom foolery and then I thought "no... I am not that obsessive... plus this is totally pointless". But hey, I don't want to spoil the party. Just had to post this.

I interviewed on Wednesday and they said that the earliest anyone would be hearing is the last day of the month when they send notices out to everyone. Very few will hear before that day.
 
No worries Stethoscope! There are still many others who appreciate the roll call! It helps pass the time.
 
Yeah, call me crazy but I think having a better idea of when to expect notification from my favorite med school is important. It is shaping how I deal with my other acceptances, financial aid applications, etc.

How is it affecting all of those other decisions might I ask? When you fill out the FAFSA, just plug in the name of each school that you interviewed at and you're good. If a school has specific finaid steps they are minimal. Chances are, you haven't even received said packages from the other schools. Decisions aren't required to be made until May....Not sure how not having a decision from the U 2 months in advance is upsetting the process.
 
As far as the FAFSA, I am actually really grateful you cleared that up for me, I had misunderstood something when working on it for Kentucky.
Honestly though, knowing when to expect hearing from this med school makes a huge difference, at least for us. If the numbers showed my chances of getting in to the U had most likely already passed the employment/summer school/housing decisions my wife and I have been making would be dramatically different (timeline in particular). Obviously we're staying flexible because you never know what happens, but we both have anxious bosses and family members that are continually hounding us for updates; any info we can give them the better. My wife at this moment is on the phone explaining to her dad how Utah has sent out a few acceptances but not most of them. This is exciting stuff and really matters!

Right now there is little benefit, but based on previous years, I expect people to start hearing back near the end of next week. Sure...it won't change the outcome, but why not . . .

The U does have additional forms, which they requested be completed by mar. 1.
 
Thank you financial aid department for the non-stress test. My blood was pumping when I saw University of Utah in my inbox 🙂
