Accepted today!!!! Admissions said we will be getting the mail today or tomorrow from letters that went out Friday. Good luck to everyone!!! I have a good vibe for everyone that is still waiting 🙂

Congrats!!!!! That is way exciting. I hope the same news arrives for the rest of us still waiting. Did you check your portal as well? Was it also updated?
 
I just talked with admissions and she said there is a time delay set up for when the portal site updates your status if you were accepted. She also said that not everyone has their portal status updated even if they are admitted and it is pretty much subjective based on what the admissions office staff decides to do. While that is somewhat comforting, at the same time it is SUPER frustrating that they don't have a set protocol and treat everyone the same. Just just to confirm again, she said all letters were sent out on friday.
 
Checked the mail, looks like my letter comes tomorrow
 
Nothing in the mail today, no email, no online portal update. Hopefully I still have a chance:xf:
 
I seriously can't believe that more people have not seen updates to their portal status'... It is April 2nd!! Kinda ridiculous...
 
Me neither today.
I bet they will come Tuesday. The letters usually takes 3-4 days to arrive from when they go out.

well admissions did say that it is on a "time delay" hopefully there is still hope for us all.
 
At new news this morning? No status status update yet for me on the portal.
 
Mail just came, nothing. I am so sick of waking up thinking: today is probably the day I find out. Maybe tomorrow...
 
my portal has been updated. it is now reflecting an "acceptance information" tab. can't believe it finally happened.

best of luck everyone and don't panic if yours hasn't changed yet! as we know, the admissions office did say status updates are rolling and not simultaneous.
 
Just accepted via portal status update!!! Received the background check email a few days ago but thought it was for another school I had been waitlisted at. Still no letter in the mail and like others have said the admissions office updates these periodically and may not until after the letter arrives

Congrats guys. I was wondering keepwaiting, did you also receive a background check before your acceptance?
 
Waitlisted at the U.... keep your fingers crossed someone drops out and I get in :xf:
 
I have a funny feeling that a wait list notification is headed my way. Anyone else feeling something similar? But hey, for real, congrats on the acceptances!
 
i did receive the background check notification as well, but wasn't sure what to make of it. prior to hearing about the acceptance from utah, i had been waitlisted at 4 other schools. i'm assuming it was initiated b/c of the pending utah acceptance, but can't state with 100% certainty.
 
I think it's safe to say that anyone who didn't get a background check email was either waitlisted or rejected 🙁. Good luck everyone.
 
Is everyone recieving these updates through the portal? Or has anyone gotten notification through snail mail? I still haven't seen a change on my portal and it is driving me crazy.

snail mail, they will only update your portal if you get accepted and it does sound like if you didn't get the AAMC e-mail you were either waitlisted or rejected. Does anyone want to update the list that cougardriver or whomever was keeping tabs for???

That's not safe to say. I was accepted on March 31st last year via portal change, but didn't receive the background check email until well after that.

You guys need to quit analyzing everything, it can't be done.
 
waitlisted via snail mail today. :xf: there's still some hope, and it doesn't sound like very many acceptances have gone out at all.

Your right WAHUVU. This is all really stressful though, I can't help but feel uneasy about everything.
 
Just curious as to how the portal status changes? Mine just says submitted. Does it change to "admitted"?
 
Waitlisted as well. Hopefully there is some movement. Congrats to everyone accepted though! And good luck to the rest of us on the waitlist!
 
Waitlist too. My 3rd so I hope some movement happens somewhere!
 
Deep breath if you are on the wait list! I know quite a few people in my class were wait listed. There will be some movement. Good luck!

I understand, I applied twice before I was accepted. The first year I checked my portal about every 30 minutes, second year I never checked it. I think it had been over a week since I checked it when I found out I was accepted. I just tried not to think about it and concentrated on other things.

Last year, a new tab showed up with other options, it was very obvious.

If you are waitlisted it never changes unless you are accepted.
 
Waitlisted via mail. No update to portal. Does anyone have any idea how many people are on the wait list and how many typically get accepted?

so far i know of ten on the wait list. I have heard that about 20 get placed on it. Last year 15 came off, the year before a bunch did too (not sure exact number) but it really just depends. Someone last year came off as late at the end of July... would have been super nice if they had increased the class size. Maybe next year they will be able to.
 
The number on the waitlist??? I think it is total, from the current medical students I have spoken with. Remember the class is only 80 so 20 students on the wait list is 25% of the class total.
 
I see.. Kathy explained to me that there are three separate lists and the number of people differ from year to year

Hmm, that wasn't what I heard, but maybe the people I spoke with don't know about that. All i know is 15 total got off the wait list last year. I bet that the ~20 is total. In our list that we have here there are two ID candidate, and there are only so many seats open for ID candidates. 75% of the class has to be made from in state students. But who knows, I am just speculating.
 
Ok I am trying to be patient but... when am I going to hear anything? And is it good or bad that I haven't heard anything yet.

Hugs! maybe tomorrow? look on the bright side, most of us were waitlisted this week... that could be you tomorrow.
 
Waitlisted via mail today. Looks like I will be heading out of state unless there is a lot of movement. Good luck to everyone still in the running.
