If we do get accepted on May 10th or so, does that mean we have only 5 days to make a decision, or is there some standard grace period?

Oh man if the stars align and I get an acceptance from UVM, I'll prolly need a 2 nanosecond grace period to make my decision.

No grace period 🙁 may 15 is the deadline for all schools. It is set by the AAMC not the schools.

Sounds about right.

Has anyone been accepted since the adcom meeting two weeks ago?? :scared:
It doesn't seem like there has been any acceptances since that last meeting, only people being put on the wait-list. It seems like there should be one more wave of acceptances to fill out their numbers before we wait for the "Post-May 15th" movement. Who knows...

Anyone talked to Admissions lately? I've tried a few times, but haven't gotten an answer.

Hang in there everybody, there's always a way.

Officially withdrew my acceptance this morning, I hope that helps the WL movement! Best of luck everyone, UVM really is a wonderful place 🙂

Thank you very much for letting us know about it and for your warm wishes!!!!

Another uneventful week and only ten days left till May 15th.... I wonder if there will be any WL movement until the Doom's Day or I should just patiently wait till after the 15th to get myself wound up😕😕

I did some snooping and it turns out that some people have been pulled off the uvm wl over the weekend.

Sigh....I feel like Calvin waiting for his helicopter beanie in the mail.

I find it strange that none of those people would post on this thread. Where'd you do your snooping?

Should have clarified. I meant over the weekend in previous cycles.

Way to get everybody riled up on a Saturday morning. j/k 😛

This wait is getting unbearable. Looking at previous year's thread, there was quite a bit of WL movement by this point. Does this mean that the class is almost full this year? 🙁

Could just mean that there's less people withdrawing before May 15 or that they haven't gotten a chance to review ppl on the WL or anything really lol.

I hope you are right. 🙂

Me too! I have a good feeling about this week!! :xf:

Just called admissions this morning they said nothing has happend just yet but it will
Soon because there has been some movement as people have been withdrawing lately. :xf::luck:

It could also be that the movement is from people who don't post here.

Some quick and dirty numbers comparing this year to last year - as posted on SDN - in terms of Acceptance Offers [AO] and Withdrawn Acceptances [W] (not withdrawn waitlist spots) for the period of February 1 through this point in May, and then the remainder of May through August:

----------------------------------------------

2010-2011 Cycle [Sums]:
February 2 - May 9 = 15 Accept, 0 Withdraw
May 11 - August 1 = 6 Accept, 3 Withdraw
Total = 21 Accept, 3 Withdraw

2010-2011 Cycle [By Month]:
Feb: 1 AO, 0 W
March: 5 AO, 0 W
April: 3 AO, 0 W
May 1-9: 6 AO, 0 W
May 10-31: 3 AO, 0 W
June: 1 AO, 1 W
July: 2 AO, 2 W

----------------------------------------------

2011-2012 Cycle [Sum]:
Feb 10 - May 8 = 3 Accept, 6 Withdraw

2011-2012 Cycle [By Month]:
Feb: 2 AO, 1W
March: 1 AO, 0 W
April: 0 AO, 3W
May 1-8: 0 AO, 2W

Delta, Feb 1 - May 9:
2011-2012 cycle = 12 fewer acceptances, 6 additional withdrawals vs same period for '10-'11 cycle.

With such a small sample window I don't think these data mean anything. Furthermore, it also doesn't compare AO's vs W's for the early portion of the application cycle (Oct-Jan), so potential 'imbalances' in favor of this year's group would not be reflected. Lastly, we all [begrudgingly] know that each cycle is unique and doesn't follow the track of any that came prior, so this is presented simply as food for thought and something to neurotically pass the time while on a break from doing other legitimate work. 😛

Impressive work dude. If I was in your position, I would have probably obsessed over something similar 🙂 Best of luck to you NMonte!

Omg delta cycle is a staggering statistic. 🙁 Awesome work though. Sending good thoughts.

Lol, this is what happens when you put a bunch of intelligent, motivated people together and deny them any real information.

Withdrew acceptance... was really hard. UVM is amazing. Hope my spot goes to one of you. Good luck!

I called the Admissions earlier and was told that no decisions were made recently as they are waiting for the final number of people who decide to withdraw. The WL movement is expected to start around next week... fingers crossed!!!

Thanks for letting us know AspiringD! Does that mean that all acceptances have been given out and WL movement shall solely depend on the number of withdrawals they get? I was under the impression that there were still spots left to be offered (outside of withdrawals that is)...

I'm not sure if they have any spots left and wouldn't dare to speculate about it:idea: About a month or so ago I talked to the Admissions I was told that they expected about 40 more letters of acceptance to come out somewhere around this time. However, when I talked to them today I was told that "many people withdrew," but there wouldn't be any decisions made till after the 15th.... So go figure😕
I can only hope that there will be some serious movement on the WL over the next few weeks.:luck::luck::luck: Good luck everyone!!!!:xf::xf::xf::xf::xf:

Is any one else like me, a bunch of interviews at fairly competitive places like here and all waitlists for about three month? I think it's the being paralyzed to plan for next year that's the worst

Anyone else have an 'error message' on their Online Applicant Center status page? Mine says there may be a 'technical error' and to contact admissions to see current status. Just wondering if this is a system-wide error..

Yeah, I'm on a few waitlists too... I feel the same way

I still have the same old "Out-of-Area waitlist" status. Could be good news for you...maybe they are changing your status page :luck: GL

Yes. Six interviews, six waitlists. I know exactly how you feel. It really sucks. Good luck!

+1, been calling them to see, but I'm not sure. I'm excited though! First time its changed since February!

Edit: I figure you're in-state cause of your name... I am too, maybe it something with the in-state applicants?

5 and 5 for me.

I'm out of state and the UVM portal is working fine for me (no errors, still waitlisted).
