thanks for the link. I checked my status and all i have is "secondary application requested" although i sent in my secondary via email on 8/31. Anyone else send in their secondary weeks ago but still have the "requested" status?

+1

Does anyone have advice on drafting a LOI when I have nothing new to report? I know they respond favorably to them, but I have no idea what to write other than explaining that they're my top choice. I've pretty much summed everything else up between my primary and secondary. I want to interview so bad here I'm about to bleed!

Haha good luck! :luck:
Thanks. I got a reply that said it would be forwarded to the committee. I'll let you all know if I hear anything. I'll also send an in the area e-mail should I interview at Western U or Loma Linda...although, Loma Linda wouldn't happen until around January or so.

The director of student affairs told me that because they are a small program they only do Saturday interviews, and only plan on having a couple of those to fill next year's class.

I'm pretty certain I will be in one of the first groups interviewing on Oct. 20th (first day made available to me). I'm excited yet a bit nervous! Does anyone know how the interview is conducted? I read on last year's thread that they mix 1-on-1 with a group interview and essay, but I'm not sure how correct this is?

I'm a reapplicant who interviewed at Drew last cycle. The interview day consists of two 1 on 1 (1 with student, 1 with faculty). There's also an essay portion and group/ team work activity. I don't think I should elaborate anymore.

Of all the interviews I did last year, Drew was one of the least intense. Just be yourself... unless you completely freak out during interviews. In that case, I would advise trying to act someone other than yourself. 😛

I received the Supplemental Application on 8/27 but my status online states "No Matching records found or incomplete data field!", should I call/email??

Make sure you're using the correct year. I think the default is still 2012. That happened to me, too, once.

For those of you who got secondaries (congratulations by the way 😀), did you receive an email beforehand notifying you of them receiving your AMCAS? I added this amazing program to my AMCAS around ten days ago and haven't gotten any emails from them at all 🙁

Welcome aboard! Nope, they just send you the secondary. Good luck.

I just checked my status: "Secondary received. . . . Please allow four weeks for consideration of your application." But there's no date as to when it was received.

I checked my status and it says the same thing. I imagine that the time they take to contact applicants varies... Good luck!

I also happened to check today and have the same status. I haven't checked in probably a week and a half so it could have been updated to "received" any time between then and now.

Ditto. Dios mio, this waiting blows. :`-(

Yeah, but if they really are planning to tell us within 4 weeks, that's a lot better than schools who won't tell us we're rejected until next March.

Indeed, la verdad. I was referring to more of the process as a whole. I applied to 34 schools, received 2 interviews, and one rejection. I'm constantly refreshing email. I'm going insane. I need to start some kind of classical conditioning or operant conditioning with positive punishment to help me stop, because this non-reinforcement isn't doing the trick, lol.

Wow, 34 schools? Didn't you apply to DO schools too? Are you counting those in your 34?

Hi guys,

Congrats on those who got secondary invites, but did anyone hear any news on how often interview invites come out? Did anyone go on any yet? Is it a once a month thing or do they send it out in batches, or just when they review them?

I believe there's only been one round of interviews so far. I know one person that's interviewed. I'm not sure how many they have, but not many: 6, once a month, Sept-Feb?

they call you to let you know if you're invited and they only interview one day a month the second one being next weekend...the response rate varies some hear the day after the application is sent in some hear back a little while after

Thanks. And they're non-rolling, too, right?

Hah, ok, thanks. From what I read in last year's thread, it seems non-rolling; but seems is far from an answer. I'll just be ecstatic to interview. Good luck everyone.

I received and sent a secondary and I would LOVE an interview here. The waiting is terrible. I get antsy and nervous ("well maybe I missed their call" or "maybe that one time my phone was out of service, they called me back" lol). After you send the secondary it's a bit hard to be patient.

Hi guys! I'm fairly new to SDN but I have been following up on the posts for CDU. It's so nice to see other applicants excited about this school. Good luck! =)

Congrats! From you MDApps, I can tell you have some pretty darn amazing stats. Please let us know how it went and how many people interviewed with you.

thanks, I finished around 2PM today. There was a group of about 21 people interviewing today. I think they do 3 more interview days. The format is MMI and they said it's the first year doing MMI for them. I can honestly say I really liked the people I met at this school more than other places. I really liked the other interviewees, and it's probably because they are like minded people. I got a great feeling about this place just based on the interviewees, students, and staff I met.

Omg... The people who got interviewed today are so lucky! I volunteer at CDU for their Saturday Science Academy and I saw the interviewees walking around in their groups. They all seemed really nice. I wish that I will be in that same position soon because I really like this school.

Thanks so much for providing feedback. Wow, I didn't expect them to interview that many people in one day for a class of 24. I guess it makes sense though. So it appears they're just doing 5 interview days this year. I really, really, really, (did I mention really?) hope they give me a chance. They're my number one choice, hands-down. Good luck! I'm sure you did great.

Heard that they already have been sending out ii's for Nov.

Looks like I got passed up 🙁

I added Drew on September 15. Thanks for the replies, guys. I know they screen out a lot of applicants so I shouldn't feel too bad but I still do 🙁

I didn't get one either. My stats (i.e., MCAT) aren't great, so I don't expect them to give me one over someone more qualified. I did e-mail to get a response on my status and was told to be patient. I guess they won't just automatically reject people in case they may need to interview for open slots later on. At least you don't have to worry about paying a fee and then getting rejected quickly.

I am sure they are not done sending out secondaries yet. And don't let your stats get you down so much. That's not all CDU will look at. I know someone who had a <3.2 G.P.A, <30 MCAT and was granted an interview the day after his secondary was completed (lucky!). So hang in there guys!

If I was complete Aug 29th and haven't heard from them since does that mean a silent rejection? Got a lot of rejections so far this cycle and yet to get an II. Trying to be patient but is there anything I can do? I would love to stay in state and attend CDU... Can I email them to ask about my status?

Thanks for your help guys.

As someone said before, they usually just reply to emails inquiring about status to say "be patient." A letter of interest or a letter containing updates (e.g., grades, publications, awards, etc) are okay. Good luck.

Guero, I saw from a previous post that you have written a LOI to the admissions office. Did you ever get a response back? Did you find guideline on how to draft an LOI online?

I did get a response, though a neutral one stating that the LOI had been received and provided to the committee. No, I didn't use a template or anything. It just followed a, "Thanks for the secondary: I'd like to take this opportunity to express just how well I fit with Drew and such" kind of flow, though professional and not obsequious in nature. I hope that helped you somewhat. Admittedly, I sent it way earlier than I should have. I should've sent it right about now, actually.
