I've been on hold for re-review since early August. I can take the hint....

I am interviewing at GWU on Sept. 28th and need to get to the Dulles airport after the interview to catch my flight. Is there anyone that would like to split a cab to the airport?

If you want to save money, the Metro is pretty easy to get to Dulles. You take it from Foggy Bottom (which is on GW's campus) to West Falls Church and then take the Dulles Connector which is $10. (http://www.washfly.com/flyer_bus_faqs.htm) This should take you a total of about 45 minutes (15 minutes on the Metro, around 30 on the connector) which is what it will take you in a taxi in minimal traffic. If you get out at 1 on your interview day, like I did, you won't have a problem but if you have later interviews, taxi's to get out of DC can get caught in a crazy amount of traffic.

I'm also still just complete, and was complete 8/20. Trying to keep the hope alive in this purgatory...

Good luck to you too!

Honestly, from this thread, it really looks like they are just going through the applications in chronological order. If they weren't sure about you, they would put your status as re-review, not complete. I wouldn't worry about it...

I've been at the just complete status since 8/3 when I was complete! No re-review or anything, it's killing me!

Thanks for the information! That helps a ton!

Woke up to an interview invite this morning! I submitted 8/16, for the record.

Edit: WAIT A MINUTE. I'm interviewing in DC on election day? Is the city going to be crazy?

Complete since 8/2. Are status changes emailed? I need to stop checking my status page for my own sanity.

^This. I also woke up to an interview invite for the 6th and didn't even think about the day until I saw your post. Oh man, I hope things run smoothly! Complete 8/20.

NHHOPEFUL - Status change for the II was emailed right away because I checked last night to no avail, but had an email in my inbox this morning. I know last year email wasn't sent for status change to re-review, but not sure about this year. Good luck!

Well I guess I'll stop checking my online status and keep my fingers crossed for an email! Thanks.

I'll be interviewing on election day as well! So excited to be in DC during that time.
I'm looking forward to meeting yall on the 6th! Let me know if anyone is interested in chilling in DC after the day ends

Hey future MDs,

I had my first interview last Friday and only brought my ipad to take notes. Do you guys bring anything to the interviews? I heard some people bring their resumes, but isn't that redundant?

Any input would be greatly appreciated!😎

Will

oh you fancy?

i agree about the resume being redundant. especially here, these are blind interviews for a reason. you don't need it.

From the past years, how long after the interview they are telling you if accepted/rejected?

Hahah your username! I love it! That is one of my favorite movies.

Got an II after being on hold for re-review. Sent an LOI a few weeks ago.

Does anyone know admission stats for GWU?

How many ppl apply, interview, accept, and matriculate?

PS last year GWU had 14649 apps, interviewed 1084 (7%), eventually accepted 366, of which 178 matriculated.

Haha, I know, I love how I changed my mind moments after my post and have several different quotes now. Considering the speed with which people have replied, that is so reflective of how many people love this school.

Truth.

You have military exper?? That's awesome, and should definitely help somewhere if not at GWU

No, it's HPSP. I'll go to OCS (officer training school) during the summer between 1st and 2nd year as an ensign, becoming Lieutenant upon completion of OCS. The next step is completing med school and promoting to Captain. Then I complete residency and transfer to a base where I'll serve 4 years in the Navy as a Captain. I think we do 1 month of training a year, if allowed by the school. In exchange, I have all tuition, books, and supplies covered, a $2k monthly stipend, a $20k sign-on bonus, and $5k ensign pay during OCS and the 1 month annual training sessions.

I've always wanted to serve and stumbled upon this perfect opportunity, especially considering I already accrued $100k+ in undergrad loans, only $15k of which are federal. I doubt I'll stay in for retirement, though. I'm very community health research-oriented and would rather return to civilian status after my active duty.

I just sent them an in the area/loi kind of thing after being on hold for re-review since 7/06. I'll let you all know how it goes!

My interview is on Friday! I'm flying in on Wednesday and I want to attend class on Thursday. Anybody I can meet and attend class with? Cheers.

Wow...had a good/ok interview with a student....had a horrible interview with a faculty...🙁
Anyone got accepted after a bad/mediocre interview experience?

I'm sure you did great! Horrible in what sense?

My student interviewer at GW told me she went home crying after her interview day because she thought her faculty interview was so terrible and was shocked at the acceptance there! I think it is difficult to gauge how you do in a forced social setting like interviews.

Oh wow, I just found out I have two midterms (Molecular Bio & Biochem) the morning after my GW interview. Guess I will be in DC <24 hours.

I've gone through the GW website pretty thoroughly and re-read my primary and secondary applications, but this is my first interview and I'm a little nervous. Anyone have any recommendations on how to prepare?

Have you gone on the interview feedback section of this site? And practice answering the "Tell me about yourself" question.

When is your interview?

Hey all!

I've been browsing this thread for a little while because I also have an interview invite. Would anyone else like to share how fast they received an acceptance after the interview?

I'm very excited! 🙂

Regular MD programs cannot admit prior to October 15th.

Whoops! I meant those who applied in the past, not this cycle. But this probably wouldn't be a good thread for that type of info, although I did read one or two posts in this thread that shared that information.

No problem! Its a valid question. From what I know, many schools respond within 4-6 weeks of interview, but of course, this varies.

Real chill interview and short. Make sure you know why GW. My interviewer asked: "GW is one of the most expensive school in the nation, why would you want to attend here?
