I got confirmation from an inside source that letters were sent off as well! and that there were "a good bit" of acceptances sent out. So now we wait... Good luck from me as well!
 
Has anyone recieved any acceptances yet? I am still waiting myself and havent even heard about anybody on sdn receivng any...its making me realy worried
 
No, I haven't got anything yet. They send the letters to BR first so the response takes a few days to get to out. This is how long the other letters have taken so don't worry. It may even be Monday, but hopefully tomorrow. I don't think anyone has gotten anything yet either.
 
Still waiting as well, haven't checked my mail today but I've been out of town most of the day, so I'm hoping there's a nice surprise waiting for me!

Thats calms my nerves a lot. Thanks for that heads up! I was just reading the previous posts and everybody was saying that we should have received them by today and it was making me worried
 
Nothing where I am.
Perhaps none of the acceptances happened to go to people who post on SDN? :shrug:
I really hope I'm wrong about that. Does anyone know of someone getting an acceptance this week who doesn't post here?

I'm really tired of this cycle of anxiety building up before the mailman arrives, followed by dejection at nothing in the mail, followed by a slight hopefulness when I see no one else has gotten anything either. The committee met 10 days ago! I wonder what the deal is. Maybe there's just not that many recent acceptances =/

Edited to add: to any non-posters who read this thread, if you've gotten an acceptance in the last few days, please register for an account and let the thread know you got a letter and when it was postmarked. I know we'd all really appreciate it!

I got mail today but there was no letter in it. If they mailed the letters on wednesday doesnt it take a couple days because they gonto baton rouge first then they mail them from there? Or thats at least what I thought

Yeah, it seems like they go through BR first (since they're stamped from 70810...or at least, mine was). But in my NFA case: meeting in New Orleans on Friday, letter postmarked the following Wednesday from Baton Rouge, and I received it that Thursday.
It's weird that these acceptances were said to be mailed Wednesday, and no one has reported one yet. Plus, last year they were postmarked on the 8th and people started posting that they received them on the 9th. This Monday will be the 13th. 😕

All this speculation is killing us haha. Yea i got my nfa the day after as well. Well, i guess monday is the new and final judgement day!
 
I think we should all just chill until Monday. It's not surprising that they don't come till Saturday, that falls within the expected time range of from NO to BR back to NO. Let's all keep those cortisol level down!

Well I live in BR so even today seems late. But I guess anything can happen with USPS.

For me neither.. I am so stressed.. Usually by now someone has received a letter.. I open the mailbox so hopeful everyday but nothing.. 🙁.. Now we wait til Monday..
 
So I know we should be getting letters today but I did hear over the weekend that a 2nd or 3rd time applicant, interviewed in march, got accepted through email last week? Have any of ya'll heard that before? I heard it through a small grapevine of parents though so not 100% sure its true ha. They were certain of the acceptance though

I know exactly who you're talking about. I heard the same thing through a coworker. Apparently he had applied to other types of schools in the medical field as well, so I'm thinking somebody confused the med school with a different school at LSUHSC. Nola doesn't just shoot "hey you're in" emails around, not for anybody.

+1 They only send acceptances through the mail for the medical school.
 
So it's not for the medical school? I don't know how the other program work, I.e. how they inform students of acceptances, etc. actually I'm pretty sure the nursing school is generally snail mail as well bc my friend had an issue with hers going to the wrong address last year.
 
So I am at work freaking out waiting to go home to check the mail! Is anyone at home today and able to check the mail? Or is everyone else in the same boat as me?
 
Just hawk-swooped mail from the mailman. Nothing today. Hopefully somebody gets in soon.
 
I also had a friend grt an email acceptance last week. He had been accepted to Tulane as well though and was assuming that New Orleans emailed him so that he would know he was in to Nola sooner and not freak out and accept Tulane (since money is due in a few days)

Yeah, starting in May, the adcoms can see where you've been accepted.
Nothing in the mail for me in BR today 🙁
I think I'm just gonna start living life as if I didn't get in....I think if I was accepted, they would've been sure to mail it so I'd receive it earlier (or e-mail me). Especially since the deposit deadline is Wednesday and I have another acceptance, and they're aware of that.

So I just called admissions. They said that the letters should be sent out by the end of the week. Not really sure why they are waiting so long, but that's what they said.

There must not have been many acceptances. And the ones that did get in were probably e-mailed. Because sending acceptance letters out after the day that most schools around the country have their non-refundable deposits due (May 15) just doesn't make any sense.
The letters going out this week are wait list letters and rejections, I'd bet.

🙁 It's hard to accept that this whole waiting process is coming to a close. It's gone on for so damn long and I've been hopeful for so long. Sigh. I hope someone gets good news soon, though. It'd be nice to have some happiness on this board instead of so much anxiety, haha.

Did you or they specify "acceptance letters" at any point? Or did they just say "letters" would be sent Wednesday?

I feel like if they had sent their acceptances then at least one person who posts on here would have gotten one. It's strange for no one on here to have gotten anything. And I asked if they were just waiting to send them all out at one time they replied yes. So I'm assuming, for whatever reason, they're sending out acceptances, rejections, and waitlist letters all at the same time. Maybe people were slow getting in there deposits this year so they decided to wait longer to send out the final round of letters. I just find it hard to believe that they could have already sent out their acceptances and no one on here was one of them or at least knew somebody who got accepted. As far as the email acceptances, that makes no sense to me at all.

I asked if they were saving all the letters to send out at once, and they said yes. So, I'm assuming that includes acceptances too. Idk I was kinda nervous when I called lol. If someone else wants to call and confirm what I was told then please go ahead.

I really hope you're right. Surely someone on here would've gotten a letter. On every Nola thread from the past, there's always like a dozen people posting about getting acceptance letters before May 15. This is a weird year.

I'm trying not to be pessimistic! I'm just a bit drained from being so hopeful/anxious for so many months.
 
I think that the emails, as others have stated, are sent to those that the ad com see has acceptances at other places. Thus those individuals need to be contacted prior to the 15th. Thus they get emails. I have not gotten anything today either and am growing frustrated. I feel like the personnel in the ad office do not actually know what will go out when. I have not heard about anyone else getting in.
 
I agree with this -- I think only those who were accepted elsewhere got early acceptance notice.

An earlier poster said last week that they had also heard acceptances went out Wednesday so I don't know what's going on but I feel like the game is getting kind of ridiculous.
