I haven't heard anything at all (Complete 10/17). I am OOS so I am not sure when I will hear back, but hopefully its soon. Apparently they conduct interviews through March.

I haven't heard anything and I was complete 7/20... I hope we'll start finding things out soon!

Have you guys checked your status page? I got the email and then my status page showed the new information too.
 
So no one has been rejected pre-interview yet? I have been complete since 11/14 and I'm assuming people complete after have been invited to interview. Seems like I am not quite what they are looking for.

I've been complete since 10/24 and haven't heard anything yet either. It's absolutely killing me considering I was on the alternate list for MSU CHM last cycle. I waited for an excruciating 4 months and was let go in June. I got my MCAT score up by 4 points and am enrolled in an MS in Medical Sciences program also. Ahhh, I don't see why I wouldn't get an interview if I've improved my application by this much. I guess it's still early in the game is what I like to say to myself. I also finished my secondary about two and a half weeks later this cycle. But still, if they were running on the same time as last cycle then I should have been contacted by now. Last cycle I was complete on 10/6/11 and got an interview email 11/21/11. Alright, I'll stop being neurotic now :bang:
 
Just got the call!! Which is very weird because I thought they only met on Wednesdays and because it was 8:30PM. So excited right now though!!

Congrats! Do you mind sharing when you interviewed and if it was Grand Rapids or East Lansing?

I'm wondering the same since my status has said the same thing since late-July. . . perhaps they do silent rejections?

You've only been complete for one month. I'd assume this is their busiest part of the app season and have a lot to get through - if I were you I really wouldn't jump to conclusions so soon. Don't give up hope!

Does anyone know the 2013 decision dates or when they will be posted? Just checked the website and noticed they weren't up, so I thought I'd asked the very informed members of SDN.

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!

Yeah, I'm hoping to pay more attention to the decision dates. Got the Feb 1st interview in GR!
 
I'm OOS and was complete 10/17, and my status has been "forwarded to the review committee for a preliminary review" since then. Has anyone in my situation heard back yet? 🙁

IS completed 8/6. Starting to lose hope after being complete at schools but not hearing from a number of them for coming on 4 months now...

IS, completed 7/26. I'm holding onto the idea that last year's thread people were being interviewed in February

I think this will be a good month for interviews. I hear there are a lot of interview invites given out this month.

For those of you that interviewed at the Grand Rapids campus and were OOS, where did you guys fly in? Also any recommendations on where to stay? Any travels tips are much appreciated!

I didn't interview but I am local to the area. The closest airport is in Grand Rapids, it is south east of downtown where the campus is. You could easily get a rental car, or a shuttle to your hotel. I would pick something within walking distance or a short taxi ride personally.

If you are looking for a cheaper flight you could fly into Detroit, but you have a 2.5-3.5 hour drive depending on traffic.

I flew into Grand Rapids Regional Airport and took a taxi downtown. I think the taxi was about $30.
I stayed at the Amway Grand Hotel. It was a little pricey at ~$100 for the night, but it was super nice. It is close to the Secchia center, so I just stopped at the Starbucks downstairs and walked over to the school. I highly recommend it, if you have a little wiggle room in your budget. If you call the hotel and tell them you are interviewing at MSU, they have a good rate deal they will give you. Plus it is right in the middle of downtown GR, so if you, like me, get in early the day before, you can roam a little.

I agree. Flights into GR were pricier and there don't seem to be many direct flights (if any), since it's a smaller airport.

You could fly into Chicago Midway, Lansing, Flint, or Detroit if it's cheaper to rent a car than to fly into GR. Just plan on the drive time (~3-3.5 hours from Chicago, ~1-2 hours from Lansing, and 3 ish to Flint/Detroit, depending on traffic).
 
So I sent a pre-interview update yesterday and the replied saying that they don't accept pre-interview updates. Then today, they sent me a rejection. 3.9, 38O, IS. Good luck to everyone who is still in it.

That's so frustrating! I'm really sorry to hear that 🙁. I've tried to send updates to them also and they've said the same thing... Sorry about the rejection, but with those stats I believe you'll still find a great medical school that will want you (if you haven't yet already!). Best of luck :luck:

They're obviously stupid to reject you. 👎 Clearly you will be going somewhere, but it's never good to get bad news 🙁
 
Wow. Thanks for the information guys, that was super helpful! I think I will fly to Detroit and drive over. Sounds fun! If anybody is interviewing 1/25 and wants to split some costs let me know.

Sorry for the bad news... I'm sure you guys will have better luck in other schools, your stats are great!

Ironically after posting yesterday that I hadn't heard anything since being placed on review 8/6, I received an II about an hour later for 2/15 in Grand Rapids. Stats in MDApps. Hope for anyone complete early to still get an II!
 
For any of the interviewers on 1/25, I will be staying at the Travelodge hotel. It is about 5 miles south of the campus near the 131. Cost is $50, and the reviews are pretty decent. Everywhere else is a little too much for my budget. I'm also renting a car so the drive up interview day should take less than 10 minutes.

I will be coming from the Detroit Metro Airport, so if anybody wants to get picked up from the grand rapids airport to the Travelodge at around 10pm, I'm cool with that. Also I can take up to 4 people up during interview day, and also drop you guys off at whatever airport you need to be at afterwards. I'll probably be heading to East Lansing anyways so its along the way. If anybody is interested in this, send me a pm and let's figure something out (and split some costs 😀).

Looks like the date they're still filling are:

2/15 - GR
2/22 - EL
3/15 - EL
3/22 - GR
4/5 - EL (I think this one is "if needed")

Not sure how many people interview at each date, but that still sounds like a decent number of spots.
 
I interviewed 11/16 in EL and got a call 12/18 for conditional acceptance. Good luck everyone else who is interviewing! 🙂.
