I interviewed in early September with Dr. Perman and was recently accepted.
The interview with him was kind of odd. He pulled my application up on his computer screen and basically read through it out loud and asked questions when he felt like it. As noted by others, he did seem to pay more attention to the computer screen than to me. When I asked him questions though, he completely dedicated his attention to me and was quite fun to talk with.
Feel free to ask any other questions you might have about him and I'll try to answer them for you. Good luck!

This is how I felt as well. I interviewed with him in early October and haven't heard back yet. He was a nice guy but not the most conversational. Got a couple chuckles out of him, which was nice, but he didn't ask many follow up questions so most of my answers were kind of one-and-done. Pretty good experience overall though.

Anyone know how receptive SLU (or any school for that matter) is to "in the area" emails for a possible interview?

This somewhat appeals to me! I wouldn't say charisma is my strongest suit so I'm not really the type to charm the interviewer. I like an all business kinda guy. I hope he doesn't pressure me too much though! 🙂

I don't think you'll feel pressured by him at all. Know what you wrote on your application and be able to talk about it with ease and I think you should be fine.

Waitlisted today. I interviewed 10/1. Does anyone know if the waitlist moves a lot for SLU?

Accepted today! Interviewed on 10/1. Email at 2:45 pm.

congrats to those accepted. did anyone who interviewed oct 8 or later receive a response yet?

One of the PMODs got an interview here last week/early this week. Complete mid-late July. Congratulations to those accepted and good luck to all those still waiting to hear back from SLU!

Does SLU mail out acceptance letters? I got my acceptance over a week ago, and I haven't received anything yet. I need a hard copy for my army scholarship.

For some reason, I have a memory of someone saying that SLU does not interview someone two consecutive years in a row, and that they would instead use the previous year's interview.

Is this a figment of my imagination?

Thanks!

I haven't seen this before, but it seems like something that would be false. I could be wrong though.

Cool. I wasn't certified until Oct. 4, so it is still early to expect an invitation to interview. I don't know where I got that from.

Hi everyone,

I'm interviewing next week with Dr. Heaney, does anyone know of her or have any advice? I'm so excited but mostly nervous. thanks in advance for any tips!

I interviewed with Dr. Heaney the second week of October. She was very friendly. It was more of a conversation than Q&A. She was very interested in my family and educational background. She was also very thoughtful and informative when she answered my questions.

This may have already been asked: Are afternoon interviews done at 1:45? There's nothing in the 1:45 - 5:00 pm time slot on the Itinerary.

They will, it takes a little over a week after you get the email acceptance though. Congrats!

Has anyone interviewed with Dr. Porter? Thank you for sharing some information about her interview!

Has anyone interviewed with Dr. Shoemaker? Any information would be helpful and much appreciated- thanks!

It's been 2 weeks since my email and I haven't gotten mine yet 🙁 Can't wait to get it in the mail!

Anyone been accepted/waitlisted yet from the 10/9 interview group?

Congrats on the IIs!

Would you mind sharing the time around when your interview is scheduled?

My girlfriend has several classmates who applied early (June/July) and didn't interview until January. I think SLU has a longer than normal interview cycle so don't freak out if you haven't received an ii yet!

Thanks. Still curious how far ahead they're scheduling, though...

Its true. I never thought that would be possible too. But I am a reapplicant to slumd and i just got the call from the admissions office that they are offering me an acceptance based on my last year's interview. Sounds surreal..couldn't believe it myself till i got the email a few minutes ago. 🙂🙂

The first interview they had available (when I looked at the calendar a week ago) was November 27; and there were interview slots on Mondays and Tuesdays the first three weeks of December.
(I'm scheduled for early December - but I figured the interview calendar was the info SDNers actually want to know 🙂)

Thanks. Still curious how far ahead they're scheduling, though...

No idea. I'd guess they still have January dates open. I know wake forest has December available and Boston has January.

I finally received my snail mail letter today...accepted by email on 10/25.

So no acceptances or waitlists went out this week? Did anyone hear any news? Interviewed 10/2 and still waiting over here...

Hey congratulations! How did you like SLU?

Thanks! I actually liked it quite a bit. I was excited to get an acceptance here--it's definitely a good school.

Yup, definitely a good school and the curriculum changes make it even better! The tiny library is the only downside. 😉

I am curious if anyone has been admitted without research experience?

No research here.

Yea. SLU isn't that research oriented. Many of my girlfriend's classmates did research with WashU the summer between M1 and M2 because SLU didn't have anything they wanted.

Anyone know how long it takes for Student Hosting to get back to you? I really hope I find somebody.

And has anyone interviewed with Dr. Jothika N Manepalli?
