Good luck!!! I hope you hear good news, too.

Oh man, me too, but they did tell us 4-6 weeks, and it definitely hasn't been that long. I'll be checking my email 50 times a day now instead of 25....🙂

Oh, and congrats to you two for being accepted! Huge load off your backs I am sure.

I interviewed the 2nd and haven't heard. Last week acceptances went out on Wednesday and Thursday, so there's still hope for this week

I also interviewed on 10/2 and haven't yet heard a peep. It's hard to keep waiting as they did tell us we'd hear about two weeks after the 10/15 date. Did you interview with Dr. Shoe/maker by any chance?

Still haven't heard anything, I haven't seen anyone from our interview day post that they've heard any news :/ I had an AM interview with Dr. Davitt

You have to mail in the $100 deposit check. There should be instructions in the acceptance email.

I kinda dislike you because of your avatar, but congrats on the acceptance 😉👍!

Hahaha, thanks! I considered Daenerys, but I like Cersei as a character (not that I like her actions... I just think she's interesting!).

Yes, crazy is definitely interesting 🙂. I just finished rewatching the first two seasons. I'm dying for the third to start.

Have you read the books? They're also excellent. Though I feel like I need at least 3 reads just to remember who all the characters are.

Ha! You should check out the malazan book of the fallen if you think grrm's characters are hard to follow.

I'm not much of a reader 🙁

It's definitely easier to read after watching the show, and putting faces to names. But yeah, it takes some concentration to pick up on everything in the book.

And take it from this guy, who also didn't like reading.

You have to mail in the $100 deposit check. There should be instructions in the acceptance email.

By instructions do you mean "A deposit of $100 is required to hold your acceptance"? That's all the info I got so I wasn't sure, do we just send a check in the mail to the admissions office with our name on it?

And with your AMCAS ID. There might also be a form you have to include...

Yeah, there's a document attached to the acceptance email that's called "code of professional conduct 2013" and the first page of that is a form to sign and enclose with your payment.

I just realized that the acceptance email had in the subject line "Saint Louis University Acceptance," which I never saw the first time. I just saw an email from SLU and stared at it a while before opening it, worried that I had been rejected.

So if my interview isn't until 2:00 in the afternoon, do I not have to show up until a bit before the 11:00 a.m. tour?

Sounds like it. My interview is at ten am so I guess that means I get to leave right after the tour and lunch?

Tuesday makes 4 weeks! lol 🙂

Yep. I think I got there at 10:30-10:45 and I was one of the last ones to show up.

II this afternoon!!! App complete 08/12/12. So, looks like there is still hope for those that submitted early and hadn't heard anything. Very excited!

Congrats! Glad to hear they are sending out ll still for us early ones 🙂

Yeah, fingers crossed! Been waiting to hear back since late August.

....unlike the acceptance email I received from Wayne State, which just said "Wayne State University Decision Date" in the subject line. :scared:

Seriously. I think I showed up around 10:30 am or so, and I still had to sit on one of the extra chairs...lol. Check out the blog in my sig for more info on the school and my thoughts on the interview day, if you want.

Hahahaha. Yeah, just from that experience I could tell I was not going to be the gunner of the class.

Hilarious! I had the same thoughts and experience. I'm a punctual person, so I arrived at about 10:50, and I didn't relish the thought of waiting for half an hour. Then I got there and had a ball chatting up the pretty girls before 11.

My decision will be 2 weeks overdue tomorrow and I am starting to get a bit antsy.

Pretty girls, eh? Fellow applicants or random students milling around? Can you imagine meeting your future girlfriend/wife while interviewing? That'd be great Christmas party and wedding day story material.

Today makes 4 weeks! 🙂 .....Does anyone know what day SLU normally sends out acceptance letters?!!! I'm so anxious! lol

II yesterday! Super excited. Complete early- to mid-August and definitely thought they had looked me over.

Anyone interview with Elizabeth Sugarbaker and have any input? I have my interview on 12/17

I think mine was a friday? It has seemed pretty random so far.

Yeah my acceptance was on a Tuesday. Seems to be pretty random so far

I thought he was super nice, and can't imagine him being tough unless you outright lie to him

I remember someone told me after the interview that he sometimes ask really hard/technical/obscure questions just to see if you'll admit that you don't know.

For some reason, I have a memory of someone saying that SLU does not interview someone two consecutive years in a row, and that they would instead use the previous year's interview.

Is this a figment of my imagination?

Thanks!

Not true. I have heard of people being accepted that way, but at the same time they certainly are not "refusing" an interview just because you have been there before.

She's extremely nice (as you might expect from a pediatrician), and our interview was very conversational. She went through the standard questions, but it definitely didn't feel like she was grilling me by any means. Good luck!!

I interviewed with Dr Willmore, as well. Fortunately, a current student told me over lunch that he has a tendency for doing that, so I was ready for it. Sure enough, there were a couple of those types of questions. I simply answered honestly that I did not know the answer and actually he seemed satisfied with that response. I guess I'll find out in a few weeks. :xf:

I had an interview like this at a different school last cycle. Except when I admitted I didn't know, then gave it my best guess, the interviewer kept escalating the scenario and asking me what to do. This went on for like 10 minutes. So awkward. He was a psychiatrist though...

Yup, I had a psychiatrist interviewer accuse me of harboring a pathological disorder: OCD. Talk about an awkward interview, defending that I'm not crazy. I'm still a little peeved about that one. What a butt. And his "evidence" was based on that school's tendency to double dip questions and ask for a CV. Of course there's going to be repeated info. Ugh. Next time I'll have to defend that I don't have PTSD from the interview. LoL

Wow! At least my interviewer didn't think I was crazy (or did he... I was ultimately rejected).

The interviewer asked what I'd do in the case of a very elderly woman who needed heart surgery; would I proceed, given her age? It then progressed to, what if the incision site becomes infected? What if she developes gangrene in the leg used for vein harvest? What if she needs an amputation to live? What if she develops septicemia? It went on and on and on and on. I thought he was getting at the ethics of patient quality of life vs. continued treatment, but it was seriously crazy.

Were all those "what ifs" relevant to reevaluating your choice to operate? I've had something similar, but related to dealing with angry family members and removing life support...
