Will it look bad if I choose to stay at a hotel instead of staying with a host student?

Just got the acceptance phone call, but will be withdrawing. Good luck to everyone interviewing here- it seemed like a great school despite it's very young age.
The lord is good. Only he could have made this happen with my mcat and low gpa. I'm truly grateful. He has been by my side from day one.
Accepted via email no call and interv iew early nov
I was the only black guy there that day.
Congratulations everyone! Are these your first acceptances? I'm jealous 😛
So from what I re-read from earlier, on these dates you're either:
Accepted
Rejected
Deferred to next date
Does anyone know someone who was rejected last round?
I was just rejected. Not too disappointed, I have a few other acceptances that are better suited for me.
Good luck guys!
Sorry to hear that, but thanks for posting!
When did you interview?
You recent interview invitees are lucky - I got my invite in the middle of September and the soonest spot was early January...
They added an extra date - January 22. It's not listed on the website yet.
I leave for Cancun on the 23rd.
Also, I smell the waitlist in my future. At least its not a rejection.

Hey, I got an invite in late November, and have to wait until March for an interview. How come people who got invites later get to interview earlier? I called and was told there was nothing available.
Now I know I'm interviewing for a waitlist spot. Should I even bother going?

i agree with the fact that you are prolly going to waitlisted. this might rude energy drink..but i if i were you...i would treat this like a rejection.
I was waitlisted here last year in apr 2012. my interviews were FANTASTIC. My grades were decent for them school. i also wrote them a letter of intent before may 15th.
this school sucks at informing anybody of the WL movement. i remember calling, emailing kelly and it just going unanswered. they do not update anybody on ANY MOVEMENT WHATSOEVER. it was frustrating. it felt like every school on the planet had some wl movement, except for TCMC.
the first movement happened around 3rd week of july. i know this because one of my good acquaintances is in the MD1 class. Literally all the people who got off the wl were from scranton and very close neighborhoods. i waited and i waited...with no response....and all the information i got was from random third parties on either sdn or my friend learning random information. it literally ruined my summer...all i got at the end was a small "sorry...our class is filled up with other excellent kids" email. speaking from my heart, i wish they would have just rejected me to begin with..so i would not have to suffer all summer long.
i was deferred today as well...yes even after being waitlisted last year till the end, and still having an excellent interview. if i get deferred again on jan 22 then i most likely will withdraw my name because i do not want to actively keep thinking about tcmc. i have a DO school acceptance, and i will take that with honor and happiness. i just refuse to stress again.
...and their waitlist is not really ranked...so it doesnt matter if you are on the top or at the bottom..they take people based on THEIR NEEDS to complete a global class, if you know what i mean. like if a hispanic female drops their acceptance..they will ONLY pick a hispanic female from the waitlist. it doesnt matter if that female has a lower rank than you on the waitlist. also, your connection to scranton plays A VITAL ROLE in coming off the wl.
Deferred.
It's not the end of the world. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you next date! 👍
Well, at the very least, I appreciate your honest opinions.
I don't see their waitlist practices as a good or bad thing. It is a shame you didn't get picked off, but they did mention at my interview that they had relatively little movement last year. Seems like you're placing too much emphasis on race, though.
Sitting on the waitlist doesn't really bother me too much. I've been waiting for 3 months now. It sucks, but I hope its worth it. I have a DO acceptance in hand as well, at a school I rank near TCMC. It takes some of the pressure off, because at least I know I'll be going somewhere. I see no purpose to withdrawing.
Judging from this thread, a lot of people seem to be dropping their acceptances. I hope this correlates to a lot of waitlist movement. TCMC is a new school, and they may be trying to attract some higher-stat students.
Does admission send a confirmation after they received the hundred dollar fee to hold a seat?
