Overall it looks like a good match list right? I think so at least.
4th year student here. Excellent Match Day results for my class. Very proud of everyone that will be attending wonderful programs across the board. I got my #1 and that was the situation for most people. Those that didn't get their #1 are still going to great programs. Only the most difficult specialties had some difficulty in the match but still obtained positions in surgery. Even so we matched students into Opthalmology, Urology, ENT, Orthopedics, and Radiation Oncology.
It looks like a great list! I'm glad that the first class did so well. Congrats!
Thank you!
I think our few problems with the match came from not so much non-competitive applications but people with unrealistic expectations and no real back up plans. It really won't kill you to apply to a 2nd specialty if you're applying something competitive. It's better to hand pick your 2nd choice than have the SOAP hand you your 4th choice in a location you don't like.

Is it worth attending the revisit day if I plan to attend? I live 3 hours away by bus.
Thanks so much for posting the list and congrats!! I think its a great list and you guys should be extremely proud!! I am now even more excited about being a Class of 2017 member!!
Can someone explain to me to me SOAP and scramble? sorry if this is a stupid question...i dont really know anything about how residency mathes work and would love to learn!
Google is a good place to start... Typed in SOAP residency and the first link explained everything....

Are the next batch of decisions coming out April 4 or April 24th?
Someone who interviewed in late February posted on here that decisions would be out on April 5th.
There is definitely an April 24th date, but they may have added a new notification date in the beginning of April. What's weird is they didn't send a mass email out about it like they did for the extra January date.
Sent an e-mail to withdraw my application. Good luck, everyone else!
I think that they moved the April 24th date up to April 5th so that all accepted students would be able to attend the second look day on April 20th. They said that they were going to move the date up for this reason when I interviewed mid-February, but at that time, they didn't know when the new date would be.
Thanks! Seems like you've got a lot of great acceptances, so good luck in making your final decision!
Hey:
Go find upperclassmen who have the SECRET STASH. I've accumulated a treasure trove of vital resources which will definitely help you attain great success in med school, on rotations, on USMLE, for your future.
I have passed it down to those whom I deemed worthy (or whoever asked me for it)...
It's kind of like that secret book hidden in the library in American Pie.
Anyway, ask around the upperclassmen about this.

I interviewed last week, and they said the next response date is April 5th, and then the last one would be April 30. They'll make the wait list on April 30. 🙂
They interview through April, so they have to have a later date. I know a few people who have interviews on the week of April 8th, so the 5th couldn't be the last decision date.
I have an interview on April 8th week myself so I hope the 5th isn't final decision date lol. Expensive trip from down south 😵
Notably, all of these SOAP'd applicants all went for Ortho. I will comment two of these did not have the most competitive of CVs and did not bother to apply to Gen Surgery; 1 individual had 15 interviews but had an acerbic personality; the final one was attempting a couple's match but had certain other politically incorrect factors going against this person; so take what lessons you will from this
Messed up to air your classmates' dirty laundry like that.
Primary care is defined as IM, FM, OBGYN, peds
This does not account for further subspecialties
It's merely a way for schools to inflate their numbers
TCMC website said:30% of students matched in primary care (pediatrics, internal medicine, family medicine), 32% matched in a surgical field (ENT, ophthalmology, urology, orthopaedics, general surgery and preliminary surgery)

I was accepted via e-mail this morning!!!!!!!! I definitely wasn't expecting to hear anything before the 5th, and I also wasn't expecting to be accepted. Big surprise, haha. Good luck to all of you who are still waiting; hope you hear good news soon.
Rejected flat out post interview. I thought it went well?
I`m tired from getting deferred letters every notification date. Why not just reject a person? Sorry for a rhetorical question, but I don`t know what they are looking for.
Sorry to hear that. Did you by any chance interview around the second week of January? I remember seeing a psychologist in my interview group, and I thought they seemed like a great candidate.
Anyone else not hear anything today?
