Has anyone attended an open house like it asks on the secondary? I'd love to go over for one and check out the campus but as far as I can see on the website they look down upon visiting without an II.

I believe they only do one of those per year, in June. Its set up like the interview day (without an interview) so you get presentations, tour, chance to ask med students questions, lunch etc. Its a great way to see the school.
 
Submitted and complete 9/24/2012. Interview invite hopeful. In state. 3.7/34 crossing fingers.
 
I just checked my status for UM on the AMP and it has the interview icon with a note that says not yet schedule. Does everyone have this little icon or is it indicative of a potential ii?😳

The reason I'm asking is schools such as NYU and others use the same secondary website but don't have that interview icon.. Maybe I'm just hoping to get an ii too much right now haha!
 
oos from vermont...submitted mid-august but nothing yet. 3.7/3.7/35
 
OOS applicant, sumitted 9/5 but no info yet, 32O / 4.0 sGPA / 3.97 GPA
 
What are you guys complaining about?

IS - heard nothing- complete early August- 34/3.7



EDIT - okay, perhaps I'm being dramatic--but last year, my application was marked complete, crickets sounded, and their singing was followed by a springtime rejection letter from my only state school

I get the feeling a rejection letter is headed my way sometime around March.

Seems like there aren't too OOS II's yet.. (or IIs in general). Hopefully theyll start rolling out soon and they'll hook me up! Is UMD rolling?
 
I have the same interview status icon. let's hope it means something positive!

I have the samething, I called the Admissions and they said that it is there and they made it sound like it is something every applicant has when they submit. pretty evil if you ask me since no other university with that website has interview icons unless you are invited to one

Yeah I was really excited when I saw it because I thought I had that interview but then I figured it might just be an evil trick on their part :scared:
 
II today, OOS, submitted 8/21. Got a phone call from Director of Admissions and an email simultaneously. It seems they're interviewing MD and MD/MPH applicants on separate days. Looking forward to it!
 
I can't access the secondary website. Is it working for everyone else?

They've had a LOT of trouble with their website. I remember around the end of August there was a 1-2 week period where we couldn't even submit our payments..
 
Interview here recently and loved the school. Had two interview and both were with faculty. One was extra nice and genuinely wanted to get to know me as a person. The second liked to play devil's advocate...the second was definitely stressful.
 
I am trying to schedule my interview and looking for highlighted dates on the calendar but nothing is highlighted. Is this a cruel joke? :laugh: What am I missing here?? I went up to March and nothing.

no dates are highlighted for me either, so I wouldn't worry!

It would be amazing to get a phone call sometime this week! Haha does anyone know when the first round of interview was? I remember I got their secondary very late, But i turned it in within two weeks. My interview was the 8th October...

if you look at last year's thread, they all started finding out on the first monday that decisions were allowed to be sent out. my interview was in late September. someone out there must have found out already...

Hmm...I was there on the 8th too. I wonder which one was you. I think they need to have us introduce ourselves by our sdn names at these things. Haha!

not sure how that's possible, because they aren't allowed to tell anyone anything until October 15
 
who knows. you could be right. i would think that if people were being accepted right now this thread would have many more contributors

I am BANKING on the sparseness of this thread to mean that UMD has been relatively inactive compared to a lot of other schools. Otherwise, it may well mean that I was overlooked. :scared:

I totally agree with you. They took a while to send me their secondary and last years thread had way more inputs t this point...
 
Received acceptance letter!!! Secondary submitted Oct 8th, Interview Sep 24th, In state applicant. Class of 2017 here we come..... Good luck everyone!😀

I'm actually already flying out to the east coast during the last week of October, but the 10/31 slot filled up too quickly and I wasn't able to book an interview then. If someone is giving up that spot or is willing to, please let me know! It would be great to not have to fly out twice. 🙂

First day of interviews was sep 24th and official acceptance letters went out oct 15th, phone calls in advance a week or so earlier....
