Same here, I submitted 7/4 and was complete on 7/5 but haven't heard anything yet. Considering how fast they're reviewing applications, can I assume a rejection if I don't hear from them in the next few days? And btw my stats are 3.91 cGPA, 3.90 sGPA, 34S (35S if superscored but i don't think Pitt does that), OOS.

Many many people get interview invites many weeks and months after application submission. To assume youre out of the running a week after the secondaries came out is ludicrous. Relax
 
Interview Invite!!!!! 😀So excited I think I will pass out. I definitely didn't expect an interview this early. I just hope I can wow them on this interview. 😍

When were you complete? And would you mind sharing your stats?
 
i didn't even have my committee letter in and they shot me an II. good stats, not great. not complaining 😀 scheduled for aug 22. who else is gonna be there?? 😍

Did you have any letters in at all? Because my school said they don't send their letters out until August, so I've always felt that that is what's hindering me currently. But maybe not...

Congrats though.
 
Pitt MS0 here...just because you don't get an instant II doesn't mean you're out of the running. I think it took nearly two weeks from completion to get mine and I'm sure it took some people longer. Anyway, even at a school like Pitt that has a short interview season it's still insanely early. Congrats to everyone who's gotten an interview so far and good luck to everyone else.

Hmm well what are your stats if you don't mind me asking. SDNers have been known to get 35/3.9 and say they are "not great"...lol

Bump for this question. My letters were sent to AMCAS today through one of those online letter collecting systems, so hopefully AMCAS will download them soon.

How much time after AMCAS receipt of letters does it take for schools to mark you complete?
 
AMCAS got my letter yesterday around 2, and when I checked this morning Pitt had received them.

+1 I think I'm gonna be a student interviewer as well. Should be fun to torture applicants :meanie:
 
How many people who interview and don't withdraw during the cycle actually get accepted? It seems like the chances are pretty low for interviewees, like 15-30%??

I only know of two schools that have super fast turnaround time for IIs and you managed to get interviews from both schools in record speed. I'm impressed. I'll make sure to torture you extra special :laugh:

MS2s will be doing interviews through Oct. We'll torture you until the MS1s take over in Nov. 😀

But seriously, if you feel the need to prep for the interview, go look up the questions that interviewees have previously reported on SDN. We don't torture, unless you feel that it is actually torture to talk to other people!

Dude, you're going to be so excited for every one of the Top20 interviews you land - which will prob be majority of them. Nice score btw. 😀

I predict you will be getting your UMich interview invite this Thursday.
 
NOOOO! November?! I'm with Ismet on this one. That's a wait! haha.

The interview at Pitt was one of my favorites, just because the tone was super laid back, while not having to explain to your interviewers everything from the beginning. That is one of the most annoying parts of the interview elsewhere. Many places I went to had no idea about anything on my application, which was lame because I basically had to recap my AMCAS during the interview, instead of getting to connect with my interviewer.

It's probably that the school wants you to be able to talk reasonably about the program before you start interviewing students. After all, most people aren't exactly thinking rationally before the first exam... 😛

You can still host all fall though!
 
Submitted secondary on 6/3, received an interview offer 6 hours later. maybe i was lucky!
 
Is it definitely feasible to catch a 7:30pm flight after your interview? How do students usually get to/from the airport from campus?
 
28 X Flyer goes between campus and the airport. If you're cutting it close, though, you'll likely need to take a taxi. Bus can be over an hour easy.

You should be more than fine with a 7:30 flight. Even if you stay for the optional sessions at the end of the interview, you will still be out by ~4 pm. The bus will get you there with time to spare, but if you're worried you can consider splitting cab fare with other interviewees.
 
Just a heads up everyone, right now Pittsburgh Port Authority is having a ton of financial troubles, and they are planning to cut the 28X airport flyer in September (instead the route's closest stop will be Robinson Mall, about 6 miles away from the airport). If this happens, I'm assuming that Pitt will provide some sort of shuttling service of its own (to appease anyone from out-of-area), but you never know. Something to keep in mind.

I wouldn't assume Pitt would provide any sort of shuttle service, unless it would be close to University holidays, since I can't believe that many Pitt students fly in and out every day. A lot of my classmates use SuperShuttle for when the 28X is not running.

Yes, when I submitted my secondaries they had already uploaded my LORs.

Is it reasonable to assume that if you dont have an interview invite 2-3 weeks after submission that you are out of the running? Looking at last years thread most if not all invites came with with a very quick turnaround time.

Also is there a complete email? Or just the complete status on the website?
 
I'll be there the night of the 19th. I'm staying at the Hampton Inn near campus. It was pricey, but I didn't want to stay with a student host for my first interview and it is extremely close to campus. I wish I could stay a little longer, but my boss at work wants me back on Tuesday...
