Just curious, guys - what percentage of the pool will ultimately get II's?

I would like to know this as well. Apparently I was small pooled (yay!), but I haven't checked my status in awhile because I thought they would email, but my best guess is that it happened early October, since I was complete around mid September.

I interviewed on 9-11, thought we would have heard something by now. But then again I guess it doesn't really matter right? because I heard most OOS get wait-listed right off the bat anyways :/

All students get wait listed. The admissions office said it was an administrative process, with some being wait listed for few hours to others being on it for weeks. Kind of like how everyone who got an interview gets small pooled first. They don't notify you about this they said and will notify you if they make a decision to accept/reject you.

So basically wait list = small pool two of interviewees? Yeesh.

Dear UVM,

I've been swimming in this little pool for months now. My arms and legs are getting tired. Please toss me an interview and get me out of here!

love

so since we haven't heard anything yet, we assume waitlist? doesn't seem like anyone has received an admission/rejection yet, just wondering when the first people will hear about good or bad news

oh my. interview decisions are up online. OOS waitlisted.

how long does it take to hear back?

I was complete late august. No small pool yet.......FML.......🙁 Guess another rejection...............🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁

All aboard the wait list! woooo woooo! BTW, there's a lot of people who say Vermont loves updates/LOI, etc. This is one of the messages.

It is not necessary to submit additional letters of recommendation, letters of reference, etc., as these will not influence your place on the waitlist. If you would like to submit a letter reaffirming your interest in the UVM College of Medicine please do so via email to [email protected].

Yep. If you're wait listed, the next step to take would definitely be to send a letter of interest. They told me themselves that they like them.

Went into small pool a few weeks ago

Hmm. Yes, quite balanced indeed.

Interview day is 10/30. I'm going to rush out and buy a suit now. I had to put off buying one as long as possible, because I've been on the "Eat Less; Move More" diet. I've lost 50 lbs in just the past 6 months.

I love seeing posts like this!! Congrats!!
When were you pooled?

Thanks!
So I actually never got pooled - or if i did, I never received the email. I actually applied last year but didn't get an II. Hopefully this time I'll go all the way!

Waitlisted!

Those OOS waitlisted, did it reflect you being OOS on the status page waitlist message? Or did everyone get "placed on the Vermont waitlist?"

ii yesterday! OOS, non traditional student. 3.1 undergrad, 3.9 graduate, 29 mcat, 4 years clinical experience, 5 years research. Been in the pool for about 2 months or so. It seems there is some hope if you've just been treading water for weeks and weeks.

damn.. I have stats around the same ballpark as yours and also have been in the small pool for about 2 months. Here's to hoping for an II soon! :xf:

So, I emailed admissions today because I submitted on 8/15/12 and I STILL have the "6-8 weeks" status. I got a response from one of the admissions officers that says:
"Once your application has been reviewed, your status on the Online Applicant Center will change to reflect that."
I guess that means no one from the ADCOM has looked at my application yet. Does that seem weird to anyone else? It's been over 2 months since I submitted. Is anyone else in this situation? I'm wondering why people who submitted after me have had their applications reviewed already, while mine hasn't been touched. Hmmmmmmm.

Yeah same here, I submitted around that time.

Maybe they sort by more than completion date?

Yeah, maybe. Dartmouth has a system where they sort by undergraduate institution. Idk, I guess I just feel like it's not fair that people who tried to submit early(ish) are being reviewed after people who submitted later, especially since UVM does rolling admissions. I guess I'll just keep praying my app gets reviewed soon :-(

you found out via email or status page? congrats! when are they scheduling for now?

Does UVM offer financial assistance to OOS students to compensate the large tuition gap? From looking at Vermont's residency requirement I would be paying OOS tuition all 4 years.

Pretty much not.... They'll tell you during the interview that out of staters will have to apply to a ton of scholarships to get by

Is there a method to how they fill interview spots? I see there are some people who received invites before I did, but their interviews are more than a month after mine.

Do you think someone cancelled their Oct 30th interview right before the school decided to extend me an invitation?

Has anyone heard anything about when people who interviewed mid-September are going to find out about decisions?

Did u check the OAC? The decision should be out by now for you.
Yeah, i still have this status.....eek....doesn't seem good if others have already heard...

We hope that you enjoyed your interview at the University of Vermont College of Medicine and that you were able to learn more about our school, curriculum and life in Burlington.

Your file will now be reviewed by the Admissions Committee and you will be notified in the coming weeks regarding the final decision of the committee.

Think of it this way.... Maybe you are getting accepted.

Did your interview go well?

I've had the 6-8 weeks status since mid-August- it's been 9+ weeks. Anyone else in the same boat? Should I just take this as a no-go?

I've been complete since late August and I have the same status. I believe this is week 8 or 9 for me.

Scroll up a little in the thread. We talked about this yesterday I think. Lots of people still in our boat. Means our files still haven't been sent to ADCOM for review. We all think its weird.

i submitted 8/13 and my app turned from 6-8 week to 6-8 week pre-liminary review end of last week.

Does anybody know if the admissions office has a secure place to store luggage?
I know school's usually do but I just want to make sure.
