BABS, you changed your avatar! I am trying to remember what the old one looked like...Remind me of it again! I love the UW and Seattle skyline on the new one. That is awesome. Congrats again.

It was a South Park character like this, but the shirt had a rib cage and a heart. The background was of the T.M.I. chart from South Park. Haha

I drew the shirt myself this morning. I may make some changes to it, but I am not very good with using my tablet and gimp (free, knock off version of photoshop).

Accepted to UWSOM!!!!!!!!! Speechless. Thank You God and admissions commity!

Awesome dude! I am glad I am not the only one. I was worried I was being duped. Did they say when the status website would change for you?

No... Said I would get an email soon. I haven't even checked website yet.

Current medical students: How does the student health plan work? Are the benefits any good? How much does it cost? Can my wife and child be covered? Thanks for your help.

For anyone panicking, last year there was only one reported SDN acceptance posted on Wednesday (3/21). There was one more on Thursday. Those were people that got calls, but it looks like people only get calls if their particular EXCOM member likes to do the phone call thing. A bunch of emails went out (acceptances, rejections, and waitlists) on Monday the 26.

So moral of the story, find something to distract yourself with for the next 4 days.

Thanks, I was panicking. Still am, too.

About time 🙂

Congratulations!

Thanks. I wonder who else from our interview day got in, whether they were like you and got in right away or like me and had to wait a five months.

And thanks to everyone else that has congratulated me. I should congratulate all of you too! And for those that are waiting to hear back, don't worry. I know a few people that never got calls and only received emails after the final meeting. I also know people who got in off the waitlist. There is movement on it! Anything before 30 and you should get in.

Got the wait list email just now. Is there any way to check movement without being a pest?

Just got the waitlist email too! #9. Soo excited! I'm WA so #9 should be a definite 😀 😀 😀 *dances*

And yes, you can check the list movement easily online. Just go to "https://www.somas.washington.edu/uwappstatus.htm" and log in with the first two letters of your last name and the last 6 digits of your social security number.

Congrats everyone with a place!! If you don't want it please give it up soon so the rest of us can stop holding our breath! 😉 🙂

Edited to add: Interviewed TRUST 02/11. One SUC. Waitlisted for the main cohort (not TRUST). MCAT 36S, 3.8GPA, 3.6sGPA. Currently working at an underserved community clinic, 70+hrs shadowing, and too many hours to keep track of of volunteering (clinical and otherwise).

HAPPIEST DAY EVER. Accepted after being SUC since November.

I screamed and all my coworkers rushed in my office to celebrate.

Congrats!! and thanks for the link, I'm going to be glued to this site for the next few months

ALTERNATE #8! Is there a separate OOR rank or is this lumped in with Washington? Am I as good as in???

Congrats to everyone accepted and early on the alternate list. From reading previous years threads, I am pretty sure being below 30 resulted in an acceptance in most years.

Congrats again!

Is there any way for accepted students to see what number they are on? The status website doesn't say for us.

BTW, the UW status website is the most archaic looking status website I have ever seen. It is definitely a pain to use.

I will post the pertinent info from the link here for you guys so you can discuss it (original thread closed).

2008: 32
2007: 34
2006: 40
2005: 29
2004: 31
2003: 39
2002: 33
2001: 47
2000: 33

The thread from 2009 got up to number 40 before people quit posting and that was on like June 9th. Don't worry too much.

The big movement starts happening closer to May. If I can find that google doc or excel sheet I will post it. For now, I will keep looking.

Having a little reality check with myself...OOR tuition (tuition alone, no living expenses) is more than $250,000 for the four years, which is worrisome in the context of the kind of work I want to do when I get out of school. If I have to pay that I don't know if I can go here. Who should we be talking to about the whole residency after a year thing? Financial aid?

OOR folks, what is your strategy for paying for a school that is more expensive than almost any other school in the country?

It took me about an hour and a half of searching to find the exact thing I was looking for. The sad thing is that it was the second post on last year's school specific thread. I had to go through way too may threads to find the exact link.

End of April/beginning of May is the big movement time.

We should make a table too, so future applicants can see what happened for us so they know what to expect. I have started a table. Just fill it in when you have a chance.

I am sitting at <13 do I have any chance?? I'm not sure if I should be happy or not

If I am from Seattle can I just assume the # is for Seattle? On the wait list?

If your state of residency on AMCAS is Washington or another state other than a WWAMI state, then with that low of a number you will probably get in late April or early May.

Is anyone interested in the match list for this year? I have the PDF

Hey guys I am trying to figure out how to get rid of the names of the students and just leave the place they went. It's a PDF and I can't figure it out. My husband is going to help tonight. Will keep you posted

I think this should be at the top of the page to help answer questions about the waitlist movement.

You can't edit a .pdf. Maybe you could copy and paste from the pdf to a word document and then erase the names?

Or print it then scan it with the names blocked off. Save the scan as a pdf and upload that here.

I took screen shots without the names on my phone but it won't let me upload it!! Damn. Working on it sorry guys
