yeeee!! congrats to those getting in!

for those withdrawing - best of luck wherever you decided is the best fit for you!

for those of you who are in the higher numbers like me, let's keep our fingers crosssssssed that this list keeps movin'!!

is anyone else having trouble getting on to the status update page?? i'm dying to know what number we're on, and my page won't load 🙁

WA/OOR moved to #30 just a bit ago, let's keep it moving! Just a few more spots...

Just got the call! I'm in! Wooooo hooooo!!! #34 btw. Good luck to the rest of my fellow wait listers!

If you're accepted off the waitlist, how long does it take them after that to tell you your first year site in WA? Also, is there anyway to change a site if you want to be in a different one?

I'm #35 and waiting...I'm OOR and through a lot of difficult deliberations, have decided I will turn down the offer if they call, so good luck to #36 and beyond when the time comes 🙂

I can't tell you about the first question since I don't know.

However, it seems like for placements that it is easy to change from Seattle to Pullman or Spokane but hard to do the opposite. Don't stress out if you don't get the place you want because there are perks to being in all of them.

I got called Monday and Wed afternoon got my site placement. To change you have to send an appeal to the Dean of Admissions.

Well Shoot, I still haven't heard. Can I ask, where you were placed?

Hey y'all, sorry that this post isn't about the waitlist, but... for those of you that were accepted this year, did you fill out the autobiographical section of the secondary with a new essay? I address some things that I didn't include in my PS in the other prompts, and it honestly feels a little bit redundant to just spruce up my PS and submit it again.

Anyone think there is hope to get to 40 on the list?

Some of the other schools seem like they are taking a longer time to take students off the waitlist, so there is still some hope.

However, that is quite a few people to go. The other google doc had 4 people get from this date, which would put it at person 40 getting from ours since #35 said he will not matriculate. But that still seems like a lot of people. I would prepare for reapplying if you haven't gotten in at another school.

Prob the higher ranked schools are able to take action first because I imagine waitlist acceptances trickle down the the rankings. Wash U probably has taken more off their waitlist compared to a lot of other schools.

I am an MT resident who has been accepted!

Anyone else doing their first year in Bozeman?

I'm excited to get to know my new classmates / find roommates!

🙂

Hello, all--I'm #35 and just declined today, so #36 is as good as in! Good luck to all those still waiting 🙂

Question as someone preparing my AMCAS primary - how did you list shadowing? I know UW prefers paragraph format compared to bullet points for the activity descriptions but I see no way that I can reflect on each of my different shadowing experiences within one section of 700 characters.

Should I list each the different specialties I shadowed individually in AMCAS?

Thanks!

what i did was list one of my shadowing experiences as the "main" activity and then in the description section include all of other shadowing experiences, with dates, field of medicine, doctor's name

Gotcha. So essentially no personal reflection on the experience description right?

I was planning to do exactly what you did until I watched one of the focus group sessions yesterday and the admissions dean said they want reflections not descriptions. Confused what to do from here.

if there was a shadowing experience that was significant for you, make that the "main" one and then mark it as one of your three most significant activities on amcas

Hey is anyone else planning to give up their acceptance at this point? I'm number 40 and trying to figure out if there is still a chance, or if I should be looking for housing at the other school I'm accepted at

After spending weeks writing my PS and however else long filling out the rest of the application, I felt like there wasn't anything else to say. So the first year I applied I just copy/pasted my PS into the autobio section (like they suggest as an option). I would not recommend this. I didn't get in (for multiple reasons), but I did the second time. I rewrote everything including the autobio section. Give them an interesting piece that brings to light your personality and insight. Make it interesting! And it doesn't have to be about medicine.

For my application I treated this section as an addendum to my PS. I felt like I had to be really brief on some things in my PS so I used the autobiographical space as a place at expand/reflect a little bit more. I put "(Please refer to the AMCAS application Personal Comments section and the addendum below.)" and then had about a paragraph. But no, I wouldn't insert your PS in this section.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. Is there anyone who didn't write something new that was accepted?

When I used to ask people about their applications - some would say that they forgot or couldn't remember what they did. I always thought they were FOS and just didn't want to help. Now, I honestly cannot remember what I did!!!! I am almost positive I didn't fill it out but I cannot remember for sure. It seemed redundant and I was really burned out at that point.
