Just got the same status. Poop.
+1 but I'm IS. Devastating.
+2
IS. Definitely poured my heart out into this application. Absolutely devastated.
I'm OOS and have been complete since mid-July. I just received an email saying that my app is on hold until January, at which time it will be re-reviewed. I haven't seen anything like this on this thread? Anybody have any insights? Will an interview at that time just be for a wait-list spot?
I'm trying to be optimistic and consider this a neutral update letter. If they sent us nothing until January it wouldn't be any different. Plenty of people are accepted in spring.
Just a note for everyone posting that said they are put off until re-review in January.
That happened to me last fall and I honestly assumed it was a denial in everything but name. Heck, after I got that letter I sent out applications to apply to PhD schools
But come January I got another letter saying they wanted to interview me in the 1st week of February, and after that interview I got accepted 🙂

I'm IS, submitted the first day the app opened. Haven't heard a peep since except for the complete email.
Anyone else in the same boat? I'm thinking I'm just waiting for a rejection, but I don't know what's taking so long.
It's only been two weeks since my interview but I really can't wait until I hear back from this school! After my interview day it jumped up into my top 3. Everyone there seemed really happy with the place.
This could become my first acceptance...but it could also be my first post-interview rejection, which means I'll freak out and start thinking "What if I failed ALL of the interviews???"![]()

Congrats for the acceptances. Excited for you and hope to have you guys join us next year. Just finished up second block of exams, and I still love it!
And to answer the question about not feeling great coming out of your interview, I definitely felt like I could have done better. For me, the feeling during/after interviews didn't really reflect my acceptance/rejection.
I think the M2s have told us that about ~50% did some sort of research during their first summer ~30% traveled and the remaining did something else (externships, volunteer, work, hang out with family etc). I am still deciding what I want to do and I will say this, there is no pressure to do any ONE thing. Your first summer is for whatever you are interested in.Can you give an estimate of how many of your classmates do research throughout the school year?
If one was to find a very flexible research position (i.e. come and go as you please, any day of the week), would dedicating 10 hours per week be reasonable to accomplish during ms1 and ms2?
...I would plan on doing the "video lecture" schedule, if that makes a difference.
I'm at just over 3 weeks post-interview...think any decisions will go out this week, or will everyone be on Thanksgiving break?
Anyone have the stats on how many IS interviewees are offered acceptance?
Historically, it appears to be:::
Applied, Interviewed, Accepted
IS: 676, 374, 183
OOS: 3225, 185, 104
Gimme a break!!! Lots of qualified--and overly qualified applicants don't "make the cut" in US med schools every year, and there are plenty of them here on the SDN to prove it. Ultimately, the name of the game is passing the US boards and completing a good residency. If that isn't enough for you, then what is?
congrats!
Is or oos?
CONGRATS!!!ACCEPTED!!! Got the call from Dr. Hansen, was not expecting that!! My first acceptance!

Yayyyy!! Congrats!! Perhaps we shall meet again at second look!!
Oh man. After applying, how do people afford to fly to second looks?
I have a question. I'm in-state, and I submitted my secondary the first date that in staters are allowed to submit. I have received many emails regarding my residency, and I have replied to all these emails. However, on my status online, it still says that my residency credentials are incomplete. I still haven't heard back from them regarding my application. Am I not hearing back because my residency credentials are incomplete? Should I call them? Or should I just email?

I'm in a similar boat. IS, submitted the first day and haven't heard back (however, my residency form is complete). But I do remember hearing/reading somewhere that interview invites were not contingent on residency completeness since you have until next August or something to get them in.
Let me know if you end up calling and asking, I'm really starting to wonder what is going on myself.
Does anyone know if they have sent out rejections to in state people or only invites and "on hold"?
