Well this is the first I'm hearing of that additional form, guess I'll get my mentor to submit it asap lol.
Hey hows your cycle going? Haven't seen you much.

Been complete since 7/16 and no status change. Beginning to expect the worst.
Why would they make you retake a 32? sounds strange.
Seems like a lot of further status people are getting invites. Anyone with the MAY status get one yet? It's weird the wording of each makes it seem like may is better.
Also note the vast majority, if not all, applicants that have received interviews are in state applicants. That may have more to do with it then the May vs Further status.

I thought so too. However she made I very clear my 3.4 was not going to cut it and I needed something to boost myself to get the adcom or subcommittee to approve me. She then said most people in my situation have at least a 35 MCAT to make up for sub par grades. They just made it seem like the SMP I am in was almost worthless to them and the only thing they care about is UG GPA and MCAT score to balance the scale. I mean...wtf... they have their own SMP, I guess they only consider master programs once they are fully completed. I don't know, one minute I am on hold for grades the next I get called up and rejected. Very disappointing.
I would be mad as hell if I spent the time and $$$$$ on a SMP, did well, and then had a school (a mid-tier one, at that) tell me that I should "retake the mcat" with a score of 32 in hand...😡
Screw'em, dude.
lol Yea, don't SMP programs cost something along the lines of $30k?
That would be a lot of wasted money if all schools followed VCU's attitude.
True, it's nice that they were honest. But what can be said of a person that is honest about being an overly-picky *******? "Well, at least they're upfront about it!"
I have no bias or personal emotions playing in this situation... I'm not an SMP student...I have a higher GPA and a higher mcat. I just think VCU is blowing smoke if they think they are by default above a "3.4/32" student with SMP redemption (which the phrasing from that guy's quote implied).
Rejected today. OOS URM 3.14/3.00/33Q
my status is still listed as complete.... anybody else in the same boat or have any idea what the delay might be? ive been completed for about 3 weeks i think....

Don't worry dude! It's still early.Between hospital rotations, labwork, paid work and applications, I'm ****ing dead. So much to do, so little time, barely eat, **** life. No interview invites, school messed up LORs, just overall a horrible, horrible few months since I recieved my MCAT score.

read earlier in the thread.whats the word on people with this status:
"The committee's file review indicates that they wish to consider your file over the next several weeks before making a decision about interview. Since they have some reservations about granting an interview, your file will be reviewed again by a small sub-committee before making a final decision. Please continue to check this site in order to learn when further action has been taken."
doesn't sound good...
Just got the "further" status, whatever that means.
read earlier in the thread.
Solid chance for interview 🙂
Toss up between acceptance and waitlist but you are definitely in the ballpark!!!
Rock your interview. I believe in you pal!!!!
got a further status earlier today. excited at first but after reading through this thread its kinda depressing, looks like theres no shot at an early interview or a shot at acceptance. Thought i would fare better, strong ecs, 3.71cgpa, 3.68sgpa 33R IS. hope i get an early interview and rock it. Has anyone with further gotten an II yet?
I don't think you read the thread.
Agreed. Some instate applicants with a "further" status have been given invites already.
"Thought i would fare better, strong ecs, 3.71cgpa, 3.68sgpa 33R IS."
Yeah, I was addressing instate applicants specifically for him.

hey all, anyone know if VCU requires you to have taken all the prereqs when you apply? or just by the time you matriculate? I'll give them a call on Monday if no one knows. I'm not gonna tackle this beastly character count until I know that I have a shot. I have yet to take bio, physics, chem, orgo, or math. in addition, i have taken the SATs. will this replace the MCAT they are talking about ? never heard of it
just kidding just missing one semester of math, which i'm taking in the spring
Just got the MAY interview status update. Going from what I've read, this is probably a good thing?
OOS applicant and complete around 08/01, although it's a bit unclear to me since I received like 3 status updates telling me I was complete lol.
Good luck to everyone else!

Are you in state?
This was my problem as well. I'm not sure if they're trying to assign me a priority score and it's just not going through, or what exactly. I tried calling on friday, but I kept getting voicemail. Congrats on the good status, btw.
