For those who've received an interview, how long did it take to receive the email with interview information after calling to schedule? They said 1 week, but it's been longer for me and my online status check says an email was sent. Also, I never received an email notifying me I'd gotten an interview; I just happened to randomly check the status page. I just want to make sure they didn't get something wrong with my email or something, but I don't want to seem impatient and call if it normally takes longer than a week.

I got my confirmation one day later. If its only been one week, I probably would not call just yet, but if its been almost two, I probably would. Also, they seem to have a super nice admissions staff so I would not be worried about calling.
 
"All materials necessary to evaluate your application have been received and forwarded to the joint degree program for review. When the review is complete you will be sent notification of your application status."

Been sitting on this status for a couple of weeks now. Has anyone heard back from the MD/PhD program?
 
My primary application was verified 2 1/2 weeks ago, and I have yet to receive any response from Wake Forest. I've read through the rest of the thread, and understand that they only download the applications every couple of weeks, but I just wanted to see if anyone else has received any response since verifying on August 29th or after. Thank you!
 
Anyone had an interview yet and want to provide some feedback on the day in general?

Mine is coming up in a few days 😀
 
I've had the hold status for a few weeks now, do you think it'd be appropriate to send a letter of interest? Or should I only send LOIs following being placed on a waitlist?
 
I just had a mock interview and it is getting me so pumped up for my first interview at Wake this week!! Anyone interview already and can give us an overview of how your experience went?
 
Interviewed recently. Definitely a great experience! Laid back day overall so don't stress too much!

Anyone else have the problem when you're trying to open the status page and it doesn't load 9.95 times out of 10? 😕
 
I've been checking my status everyday, and it's finally reached 2 weeks of the "please allow 1-2 weeks for us to review" and the status has still not been changed!

The suspense is killing me. 🙁

so it's been over a week now since I've received the "hold" status. How do you go about determining whether or not your in the upper third tier for the interview pool within the "holds"?

Who knows. I've had the hold status for over a month now.
 
Does anyone know how heavily Wake Forest screens? I just received a secondary after being AMCAS complete 8/25. I'm so broke, I'm not sure I can afford to pay $65 for a school I might get rejected from. My stats are average, my ECs are very research heavy, pubs etc.

how long did it take everyone else to hear a decision?

You probably have to get verified first cause they screen, but after that like 2 weeks.

Congrats!!!

I interviewed at Wake Forest recently and had a pretty good experience. You will have three short (~15 minute) interviews with faculty members. Every interviewee on your day will be interviewed by the same three people. We were told that immediately following the interview day, the three interviewers meet with a couple admissions staff and sort the interviewees into accept/wait-list/reject groups.

One piece of advice; everyone had difficulty finding the admissions office. You should allot yourself about 30 minutes to find it, just to be on the safe side (for me, ~20 minutes was cutting it very close).

As for the school itself, Wake Forest seems great. One of my favorite unique things I learned is that next year, the student body will be divided into four "houses" based on common interests...yes, just like Harry Potter. 🙂

Also, I was pleasantly surprised by Winston Salem!
 
II this morning! OOS. I was complete middle of July and thought this was a rejection. I got a mid-November interview date.

Edit: Were you sitting on the "Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March.* If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview." status for the majority of that period? I've had that for ~1.5 months at this point.
 
Congrats guys, i was complete in late august and i am on hold, i am goin to send in an update letter/letter of interest on october 11 and hopefully i am one of the lucky few who gets an ii
 
I just got the "your AMCAS has been received" email. For those of you who got secondaries, how long did it take between that email and the secondary email? I want to know about when I should start giving up and assume I've been screened out :laugh:

I got an e-mail and then I checked my status and it still said "Your application is complete. Interviews are by invitation from September to March.* If you are invited, you will receive a e-mail or phone call to schedule an interview." After I called to schedule and I went back and checked it said that an interview has been scheduled.

When I called the lady said that they are scheduling IIs for November. I scheduled a mid November date as well but I believe the earliest opening was November 12
 
Yeah, I had the "Interviews are September through March" status for over two months. Then I sent a LOI about 3 weeks ago and heard nothing until today.
 
Got the secondary on 9/19. I'm a little burned out on secondaries. Thinking of not doing this one after all since I prob have slim chance getting in anyways🙁. OOS c3.79 s3.86 32N.
 
I interviewed on 9/17, the interview was much more laid back than I had anticipated! There were 3 separate interviews (one on one) about 15-20 min each, 6 kids including myself interviewed that day... the interviews were very conversational, however, one was noticeably more "stressful" I suppose, consisting of the few token questions: Why med? Why Wake? What do you see yourself doing? etc. Feel free to message me if you have any more specific questions! 🙂 Good luck everyone!

Shout out to anyone OOS (or IS for that matter) who has had the "your file is complete and you may be contacted between September to March for an interview" (not exact quote). Had this status for 7+ weeks and just got an II!!! :biglove: SO EXCITED :soexcited:

Just got an interview invite. My stats are: 3.56/3.57/39R.

I was complete August 29th. I was under the "Your application is complete... blah blah September to March..." status for the last 2.5-3 weeks, and got the invite today.

I scheduled my interview for 11/13. It seems that mid-November is the earliest available now.

edit: I'm OOS btw.

congrats! Looks like that MCAT score really helps haha. I was complete the same day as you and have the same status as you, I hope they put me out of my misery soon and just give me an invite or reject me :scared:

OOS, 3.4 uGPA, 33N and 3.73 from Georgetown SMP. I had the "your app is complete...september to march..." status for a couple days. I sent a letter in yesterday and heard back today. I'm scheduled to interview 11/8

Congrats!! So your secondary was received 9/7 and they only changed to the "Complete" status several days ago?

Thanks! No, on 9/7 I got the email saying they had all the materials and my file was complete... then I had the "under review..1-2 weeks.." status until a few days ago when it changed to "your app is complete...september to march..."

I then emailed them yesterday expressing my interest, updating them, and asking if I could have an interview in mid-November since I'm flying down to visit family anyway (from CT). They got back today and scheduled it right away.

Yeah I understand the feeling. I am a reapplicant, and waiting for schools that put me on hold was the worst feeling last time.
 
Question for everybody. Do you guys being anything to the interviews? Like a Resume or something?

No need for this school. You just need yourself as they give you a pen, a folder, water, food, mints, etc.

+1. Yep, I had that status for 7+ weeks before an II, but I feel like that was on the relatively short side overall. Wake is very picky and deliberate with IIs (technically, second most selective in the country by acceptance percentage, only behind Mayo).

Cool, at least they marked it complete. How long have you been waiting before they changed to this status?

Mine is still on the "Please wait 1-2 weeks" and it's been almost a month...

I had the 1-2 week status since 9/7 and today afternoon it changed to this status.
