Paul Revere rode past my house 48 minutes ago and warned that acceptances are coming! Get pumped for tomorrow guys, the day of reckoning is finally here!
The interview is super relaxed and the dean really stresses that you shouldn't feel like you're competing with one another. It's just a chance to show who you are. I particularly liked it because the panel allows you to learn more about your fellow applicants. The two people with me were interesting people and we actually shared some similarities. They basically go back and forth directing questions at each person. It never felt like we were trying to "one up" each other, even though sometimes all three of us were asked the same question.I've got an interview coming up at Emory this Monday that I'm super excited/nervous/ecstatic/anxious about! Do you folks have any advice? Is the group interview really as nerve-wracking as I think it will be?
Also, good luck to all ya'll who are waiting to get your acceptances 🙂
has emory been sending out II's lately? If so, what are the interview dates as of now?
I don't think that was the case. I remembered them informing us that the committee had met for the oct. 25 group. my interview date was really close to that time, so they told us we would not be eligible for it.I was reading the medical college of ga thread and there was mention of a med admissions staff conference that delayed acceptances. I'm wondering if the same thing happened here.
"Acceptances will be mailed out on these dates"
October 28, November 25, December 23, February 3, February 25
It is officially November 12th, which means that we are now closer to the next mailing date (11/25) than we are to the previous mailing date (10/28). It's clear that we've been lied to by Emory. There is simply no chance they sent out acceptances on October 28th. Emory, I love you but...

Don't leave me hangin' here forever
Oh baby, baby this is not alright, let's stop this tonight"
+2!!!+ 1 hoping so so badly for an II here 🙁
At my interview they said that if they don't get a response from you within 2 weeks they call to find out if you got the letter.Or they were sent out and no one on SDN received one. Perhaps they only accepted a few interviewees this time.
Or all the letters were lost in a horrible plane crash only to be given to us by Tom Hanks in 10 years.
Speaking of which, outside of the letter is there any way to verify whether you received notification? What happens if a letter really is lost?

I believe they said during interview day that in case a letter is lost, and you don't reply within the allotted 2 weeks, then the admissions staff would contact you.

Agreed. I still check my mail every day, but never with my heart racing thinking "this is it!" I guarantee I won't be the first person with an acceptance on here, especially because I live 9 hours away. I still think it's extremely unlikely that NOBODY on SDN got in the first round. But it's also unlikely that the USPS lost all our acceptances in the mail. And it's also unlikely that Emory decided not to mail out acceptances when they told us they would. Even using Occam's razor I can't decide which scenario is most likely.I think at this point we need to understand that it is going to happen on its own time. Maybe we'll hear back soon, maybe we won't, but at some point someone on here is going to post about their getting in. Then...we can start checking our mail obsessively and looking up average postage times by state again.

Hi Everyone! I read in previous cycles that Emory provide directly support to minority applicants during the process of admissions. Has any minorities/underprivileged individual been contacted by the admissions office for this? I am not sure if Emory does this anymore.
Nope. Emailed them about it and they said they don't accept updates unless/until you're invited to interview. 🙁Anybody know if Emory is receptive to post-secondary/pre-interview updates? So desperate for an II here; currently crossing my fingers, toes, eyes, hair, etc...

Emailed them with my publication update in Sep without knowing their update policy, they just emailed me back and said no we do not take updates, haven't heard anything afterwards. However, since Emory doesn't reject people, I do not know if they just dumped my file in the rejection pile. So, I suggest you not send the update.is it an absolute no on updates? i want to send them that i was published but am scared they'll reject me automatically. already wrote the letter....

I am not In-State, but I live 10 minutes from the campus since I attend the undergraduate school. I interviewed on 9/27/13.Congrats. When did you interview? are you in state?
I believe they stop interviewing in late February since the last day they send out acceptances is February 25th before forming the wait list.Does anyone know how long the interview season lasts at Emory? Do they stop interviewing in late February or after?
