Did anyone get a fee waiver? I saw in the email that they don't give fee waivers out but somehow my application fee was waived. Do you think this was a glitch?

I received a fee waiver and received the same message when I got to the payment screen. I also thought it had to be a error because the email explicitly states no fee waivers. I am going to submit any way and if its an error I'm sure they will email and ask for payment. (Keeping my fingers crossed that its not an error lol)

Hey guys, anyone else having problem with saving course requirements? I've tried 4 different browsers but for some reason when I log out and log back in, the courses don't show up as saved. Any suggestions?

Mine wouldn't save certain boxes initially when I just hit the save button, but when I hit the section complete button it saved it all.

haha...thanks! Through trial and error, I figured out a different way as well. After filling out the courses, if you click on "insert" instead of "save for later," then followed by "save for later," it will save all the courses correctly. Once you have all the courses saved, you can then delete the empty spaces for question 16, without deleting any of the saved courses. Hope this helps whoever is still having problems saving the required courses.

Can anyone comment on the surprisingly low MCAT average for this school? Do they just have a more well-rounded approach to admissions or is this a mediocre school? Trying to decide if I want to apply here.

How did you guys fill out courses? For instance, Bio I with lab, do you insert two grades in the box?

Some of my courses where full year (2 semesters, 6.0 credits) so I only have one bio course, one physics course, etc. The system won't let me complete the section because I have blank boxes for bio II and physics II... Anyone know how to get around this?

EDIT: I put N/A in the blank boxes and the system let me save it... hope that's cool with Howard ADCOMS!

Hi all,

so the secondary actually asks what school you'll be PLANNING on attending June 2012 to June 2013 (which just passed obviously) and then goes on to ask what courses you plan to take from when you submitted your AMCAS to July 2013... which IS when I submitted my AMCAS.

I'm really confused by this. Did they mean July 2014? and June 2013 to June 2014? is this just a glitch or are they really asking what I plan to do in one month?

I think there is two buttons on the bottom.

Save and a complete button, you need to click on the complete button.

And do no worry you can change the application after you click complete button.

Saves it as complete, but when i go back to the course page, it's blank, all the courses i entered have disappeared.

Hey everyone,
So i submitted my secondary two days ago. I was randomly checking my status page when I discovered that all the courses that I had entered were no longer there, even though they were there when I submitted! Anyone having this issue? I'm going to call and see if they received my courses. I checked my secondary app this morning too and all of my classes I had inputted had disappeared as well so don't trip over that. If it was there when you submitted then you're good.

Ok I think something must have changed on the secondary. I could have sworn when I first signed in to look at the prompts they were all 800 characters. Now I sign back in to enter them and they all say 800 words. Anybody have any insight on this? While I would be happy to write more than 800 characters, 800 words seems like its a glitch.

Honestly that is really weird. I saw your post, logged in, and I mean, it's not a glitch. It is allowing up to 800 words now. This is really weird. I had already written mine, and I was basically on the verge of submitting it. So I am not sure what I should do now, whether I should elaborate more on my essay or just keep what I have

Ugh...that's basically where I'm at right now also. I think I will just email them to ask if its a glitch or not. I guess I won't be submitting until Monday at the earliest then.

Hey...so when I called today, they said that the courses missing was a tech support issue that they are working to resolve! They also said they use the AMCAS grades regardless, so it's all good!

I just wrote like ~150 words per and I got an interview invite. I didn't stay below the 800 characters and I definitely didn't go near the 800 words.

Just do your thing.

Received secondary.

Although the questions allow an 800 character response, I feel I do not have much to write about. Yes, I grew-up (and currently attend college) in an economically and educationally disadvantaged community. I also plan to practice or give back to the communities in which I lived. I feel like 2-3 sentences are too short for these questions.

I was planning to use the "any additional information" box to answer "Why Howard?"

I have a question: I grew up in some towns that were in a county that was considered to be medically underserved and I currently live in a county that is medically underserved. I am not sure if the actual town that I grew up in is actually medically underserved, Is it safe to say that I lived in a community that was medically underserved if the county was medically underserved but you are unsure about your actual town?

Does "not scheduled yet" mean that I am still in review, or that I have been given an interview, but have not yet been given the means to schedule it? Thanks in advance for any help with this question.

I think it means under review. Mine has said that from the time I submitted.

GPA Range, 10th - 90th%, 3.01 - 3.91

Not sure if this is for the class that entered 11' or 12', though. Hope this helps.

Some schools don't send out secondaries until you are verified. I'm going to guess that you aren't verified yet, but probably will be soon. Good news is that Howard just released their secondary last Monday (19th) so they probably haven't gotten thru too many apps yet and as far as I've seen my II last Friday was the first batch.

Hey, everyone! I e-mailed them earlier this week about this, but I haven't heard back from them yet. I was wondering if you had retaken a course, should you put only one of those grades down? or should you put down both?

I am in the same boat. Since the secondary only asked for "successfully completed" classes, I only put down my retakes. However I added a short blurb about this in my extra comments part of the course section in the secondary, and also mentioned it in my primary essay.

I haven't talked to HUCM directly about this, but 2 other schools stated to put down the most recent time I took the course; they mentioned they would see all attempts on my AMCAS transcript.
