Thanks for the heads up! I was able to find a fried in DC I can stay with while I am there. It helps tremendously because my flight was a bit steep.

Hi guys,

Did anybody do their interview Dec 3, 2013? I've not heard back from Ms. Walk and i'm getting really anxious! 🙁

What are the chances of a non-US citizen and non-permanent citizen (International student graduating from a US college) getting into Howard with an overal gpa of 3.5, mcat of 26 (on third attempt). I recieved the secondary application on 9/26 and completed it on 10/21. I haven't received any rejection or interview emails yet. Does the school interview international students last? Plus, what's a good number to reach the admissions office at. I have called 202-806-6279 severally and always got the answering machine.

Does someone have their COA sheet handy? I was wondering the maximum amount for room and board.
 
I couldn't say why, but for some reason I was convinced that I was going to hear something from Ms. Walk today. I worked myself into a nervous wreck all day about it. Does anyone have a sense of when acceptances/rejections go out? Ms. Walk said that it's usually on the 15th, but that it was messed up this month because of coming back from break. I just have to know!!!
 
I feel like my judgement day is near or has recently passed! :nailbiting: I was complete in Mid/Late October. I remember reading somebody complete 10/11 got an interview like a week or so ago. They haven't sent me a rejection yet, so positive thoughts to all of us still waiting! 🙂

My MCAT score became available on sept 12, thus they sent me an invitation to complete the secondary on the 17th..

24mcat (best combo of scores bs-10, vr-9, ps-8) 3.54gpa not a traditional URM but considered a minority in another sense, and plenty of volunteering with underserved populations.

Our stats are very similar. Does Howard combine the best scores? I am an international student with over 600 hours of shadowing, community service, and medical mission trip, do I stand a chance? Have you been invited for an interview yet?

Hey! i was accepted last year. I am international but went to undergrad in canada. all the best
 
People have been rejected pre-interview that were complete around the same time as me. So either they're still holding on to me or they just haven't sent my rejection yet. Oh please oh please send me an II Howard!! Pleeeaase
 
Same here. completed secondary on 10/21. Still havent heard anything; I guess no news is good news at this point but i really hope to get invited for an interview and get accepted. Howard's commitment to serving the underserved community is my passion in life. I cant imagine a better place. Anyone know how best to get in contact with the school? I can never get anyone on 202-806-6279.

Congratulations! That's great. On your interview day, did they tell you when to expect a decision? They told us we would hear by the end of January, and still no word.

They told those on my day mid/end jan. When did you interview?

Congrats!!! I am an international student too. Do you mind sharing your stats? I am an international student too. I submitted my secondary application on 10/21. I haven't heard anything from Howard and I've been on edge ever since lol. I'd appreciate any advice as well. Again, congratulations!!!
 
I interviewed on dec 11 and I'm getting kind of worried! I called about two or three weeks ago and Mrs. Walk so I was going into committee on Jan 30th. SOO... Idk

Hmm, maybe they just didn't get to your name yet. I'm sure you will hear pretty soon.

Congrats. I also received the "out of committee" email last week Monday but no email since then. I guess a rejection letter is coming in the mail.

I'm sorry to hear that. Did your portal change as well? I still haven't heard anything and my portal is the same. I've been complete since September.
 
If the 15th falls on a Saturday will the committee still meet? Does anyone know? Thanks and good luck!
 
I still haven't heard anything! Feel like they'll reject me soon enough since I know somebody around my complete time already got an interview!
Hoping for the best though. No news isn't bad news I guess!
 
Congrats to the interview invites and acceptances! If you are waiting, hopefully you hear something well. If you got rejected, look back at your application, and note where you can make improvements. Keep working hard guys, you will do well!

Nope, I have yet to receive it and I check my mail religiously everyday.
 
So I'm thinking about calling the admissions office to ask for a timeline on a decision. Do you guys and gals think that that shows that I'm interested in the school, and excited to hear whether or not I'll have the chance to attend? Or does it make me seem impatient/desparate/rude?

I would love to hear what they say if you get through because this Office never picks up the phone I have called several times and never received a response, I choose not to leave messages to prevent annoying any person in particular. And i sent an email a month ago and never heard back.
