My rejection came by an email directing me to a pdf on their website. I'm glad DrWhoo thinks this won't be the norm because I'm rightly nervous 😛 Came on here to get some feedback/advice, since I'm rather bummed. Hopkins has been a lovely dream for a long time.

Definitely wouldn't expect that as the norm unless you are severely lacking in clinical experience... but with your score I would imagine you've done your fair share of homework about what it takes to get into medical school.

Woah, that's crazy. Were you just now notified? When were you complete? Sorry to hear about that! I'm sure you'll be getting some acceptances at great schools this cycle. Your stats alone are horrifyingly amazing; I'm sure the rest of your app is as well!
 
Thanks, you guys are kind. Wish you the best of luck with JHU and others too ;D And I was notified on the morning of the rejection by email, if that helps (complete date was Sept 25 as posted).

Oh wow, I clearly need to learn how to read.
 
Sorry to hear about your rejection. I just got an email about my MD-PhD decision telling me to check the "decision link" on the website after logging in. I'm logged into the portal, but can't find the link. Did it show up in your messages inbox?

In any case I'm expecting it to be a rejection. I submitted 9/27 and got the complete email 10/2.
 
I submitted my app early but had to wait for my second MCAT scores to come in. If I was theoretically complete October 1st should I send an email to admissions to see whether or not they have marked me as complete manually? I haven't received any correspondence regarding having a complete application --but I also don't want to be a bother. Thoughts?

JHU took over a month to send me the complete email...it will come eventually
 
I interviewed at the beginning of September, and they are not sending out the first wave of decisions until December, right?

I had the same experience. It took a month for me to receive the complete email as well.

should be the bottom link on the front page. link text says "your decision is complete" or something
 
Does anyone who interviewed have any ideas on how to get a thank you note to my student interviewer?
Since we never got their names on paper...

Write a PDF thank you note and send it to the admissions office, and they will forward it along. That's what they told us to do anyway!

My stats are a little low for this school 10/11/11 3.76c/3.67s traditional student, in-state

Is there anything I can do at this point to help my chances of getting an interview?

Just got an II for a specific interview date - has anyone had that? Do they usually not let you schedule? Or maybe they had a cancellation and I'm the lucky winner of the slot (no complaints here either way 🙂 )

Congrats on your II! They also gave me a specific date when I interviewed back in september. I think you can email them and ask for a different date if it doesn't work for you (See earlier post in this thread)

+1. Pretty much expecting a rejection from here as it's a HUGE reach for me. I assumed they did silent rejections, but then earlier on in this thread a couple people said that they received rejections by e-mail. So now I'm confused?

Approximately how quick does JH evaluate apps after the complete email? Pretty much wondering how often they meet to review potential II or the earliest I'll be rejected haha..

Also, does anyone know if JH is receptive to pre-interview letters? I want to provide them with some supplemental info as I did not feel that the secondary questions gave me the space to express what I wanted. Thoughts?

No idea how many times a week the adcom meets. I've been complete since July 31st and haven't heard anything. I'm also thinking they do silent rejections--so potentially you won't hear anything until spring.

Also- they are not receptive to pre-interview updates; they only accept post-interview updates.

II this evening! Was complete back on 9/13, so don't lose hope 🙂
 
i interviewed here, and i forgot to write a thank you note. to anyone who's interview. we send it to the assistant director of admissions right? so do i like send it as an attachment?
 
Rejected via email. submitted mid August, complete mid September.

same here- first Dartmouth yesterday, now this. The II rush at the beginning of the season was much nicer than the rejections now...
