To people who have yet to hear back: Interview is chill. Be you and be genuine. Trust me.

To all accepted students: At what point in time are you guys looking into housing, etc?

Any advice on hotels to stay at that are nearby and ideally relatively affordable?

I can recommend two options:

1) Springhill Suites
1311 N.W. 10th Avenue
Miami, FL
*This is literally the closest you can stay to the medical campus. I live very close to it and walk to Miller every single day. It is right across the street from campus. I'm not sure if they offer a prospective student discount, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.

2) Holiday Inn, by the UM Coral Gables campus. They generally offer some kind of discount if you say you are visiting a student, so I bet they will give one if you say you are interviewing. This hotel is right by the metrorail, which is a dependable 15-minute ride to the medical campus (take metrorail north, and get off at government center).

Not yet. It's supposed to be "approximately" 5pm, some people said they got their call at 6 or 6:30 even.

Yes, it changed Monday. Maybe they are a little behind and haven't had time to get to everyone

There is one more meeting (April 23rd) before the class is filled. There have been a couple of people accepted off waitlist. So yes, you may still be accepted off the wait-list.

However, most movement will be after May 15th! They do accept around 100 people off the waitlist at the end though. 🙂

April 23rd is the next date acceptances are scheduled to be realeased according to the UM app.

I am normally quite an independent student, but I wouldn't mind a roommate who can function as a good study partner. I don't drink, and I'm not a partier.
