So what does a prolonged "under review" mean? Because it seems like limboIt means you're on hold.

1. Preliminary review (check over your app make sure you have everything)
2. Under review (we are considering you for a II at this time)
3. Been reviewed (we've looked over your app and we aren't rejecting you at this time but we aren't considering you for a II at this time either)
4. II
5. Rejection.
You're right on everything except they don't reject students until the cycle ends. Not even post-interview.
Also want to remind everyone that I'm currently an M1 at Stritch, and I'm happy to answer more questions if anyone has them.
Do you hear back about acceptances soon after the interview, or are those held off until the end like rejections?
I just checked mine without a problem. Maybe they're updating a decision for you 😉under review for about 6 weeks now...come on loyola!! the more I research the school the faster it is becoming my #1 choice
Anyone know how strict they are about having a LOR from every school attended?
For transfer students 🙂
Their requirements are not iron-clad, but you have to justify why you didn't or can't meet them. I graduated in 2005 and there was no way I was going to get any LORs from my undergrad profs, so I'm relying on LORs from post-bac courses and professional & volunteer experiences. I called the admissions office about this and they said it was fine, but to state my case. If you have letters from the school you graduated from/have the most credits/took your prereqs or your most difficult courses I think you'll be fine - but do use the space to explain. Full disclosure: I haven't received an II, but I'm still under review.
aw man, I went from preliminary review to been reviewed in 1 day 🙁 and I thought I did a great job on these essays. sigh. my low GPA is gonna kill me
Does anyone know if Loyola is receptive to in-the-area emails?

Most likely very few to none I'm afraid. The same thing just happened to me too! Since it was so quick, I'm wondering if it was a screening thing. Also wondering the rough percentage of applicants who go from "file has been reviewed" to II. Anyone have an idea?
Thanks for this input! Just wondering where you got that information from? Most likely very few to none I'm afraid.
That's what holds tend to refer to. It's the anti-small pool. Thanks for this input! Just wondering where you got that information from?
Submitted July 17, only had the "under review" status since then. Not too worried about not hearing anything yet!I've been under review since Aug 1-5 (sometime in there). Can we take a head count...any others out there?
Also under review since Aug 3-8th according to my spreadsheet.I've been under review since Aug 1-5 (sometime in there). Can we take a head count...any others out there?
Under review since mid July. Also under review since Aug 3-8th according to my spreadsheet.
They just had their white coat ceremony last Friday so I'm guessing they were busy with that! Let's hope!Last II's came out Monday (last week, i think)...maybe we'll be in the next batch? Hopefully scheduled for this week.
same....hope we will hear back soon =)Under review since 7/17
Chiming in, under review since 7/24 and no news!Under review since 7/17
September 2nd was the first available date for me.For you guys who have received an interview invite, what are the first dates available for interviews?
Thanks so much
Thank you for the quick response. How many days a week does Loyola conduct interviews? I wonder if it shows on their calendar. Thanks againSeptember 2nd was the first available date for me.
To my knowledge, they really just schedule you whenever their faculty have free time to conduct interviews. I don't think each interview day is that large of a group either. They do have one Saturday each month with a larger group though. Basically, when you get an II you will schedule it over the phone and I think you just kind of see what days are available and what works for you. I don't think there are set days.Thank you for the quick response. How many days a week does Loyola conduct interviews? I wonder if it shows on their calendar. Thanks again

Got an II yesterday! OOS, 3.6 cGPA, 3.5 sGPA, 33 MCAT. I called and selected October 20 as my interview date. I feel honored that Loyola thinks that I MIGHT be the type of student that they are looking for. I've got my fingers crossed for this one! To my fellow Application Status Junkies: I went from "Under Review" to the II message Friday morning.
I was complete on 07/11.Congrats! Do you mind sharing when you were complete?
Hey I was wondering if you ever contacted admissions and heard back regarding this? I have interviews in Chicago on 10/1 and 10/3... 10/2 seems ideal for a visit to Loyola for this guy!Does anyone know if Loyola is receptive to in-the-area emails?
