@womanofscience: 7/10 | yes | no | OOS | 8/29 | 10/6 | - | - | LizzyM 72
@AdventureDub:7/16 | 8/1 | no | - | 8/29 | Oct.| 9/12/11 |3.6
@smoothbunzz: LizzyM ~ 70, KIT 8/1, OOS, II 8/29, IA 10/6
@Ruby109: LizzyM 67, KIT 8/1, no hold, OOS, ii 8/29, dunno what "IA" means.

Quick question, do most people fly into white plains or laguardia?

that cant be right because I have been complete since July 29... I think KIT means they have made a decision to interview or put your app on hold. I have been complete as of 7/29 with no II, hold, or KIT. I am a nontrad student

Hmm, maybe you should call in and ask, I had to do that at EVMS and they made me complete. Sometimes, there are small problems that might keep an app from being marked as complete. This happened to me at EVMS, I got an II a couple weeks after I called. Good Luck!!

I did call and she told me my app was complete on 7/29. So therefore using stickshifthonda's logic I should received a KIT email.... But I have not, therefore, someone is either wrong, lying or miscommunication.

Congrats to all those with IIs!
Anyone know if NYMC does silent rejections?

Just got the KIT email. I interviewed here last year and was rejected post interview, so I'm not holding out any hope

It's possible that KIT is some internal way of acknowledging that your app is not just complete, but ready for review, e.g. it is now going to the Adcom next. A lot of us received it on 8/1 because that might have been when the committee first started to look at applications formally, even though we were technically complete weeks prior (like me, complete on 7/15, KIT on 8/1).

II this morning! OOS traditional, LizzyM low 70s.
I only received the KIT email.

Looks like the hold definitely isn't a good thing.....

Still nothing for me. KIT email Wednesday 8/27, no hold, no II. Submitted secondary 7/9 but complete on 8/11 due to late receipt of committee letter. OOS, Non-trad, LM ~68. I like NYMC a lot, mostly because my PI went there.

It might be a good thing. They might be looking at lower stats first and then will move on to higher stats/people on hold! But that is just my speculation.

They interview a lot of applicants (around 1200 According to MSAR) and only matriculate 200. Is there anywhere I can find how many they accept?

It definitely seems that way ... But I can't think of why they would do that

so all of you with II's received the KIT email on 8/1?
anyone with an II that received the KIT later? it seems like they sent out one big batch 8/1 and then another 8/27

What's KIT stand for? I received an email for an interview invite yesterday...?

Yes I have a subscription. Just checked for you. The number is roughly 50%.

So I have the USNews Passport Subscription but haven't been able to find where this information is...

Maybe two different subscriptions? This is US News College Compass.

This is the one I have...

I swear I went to college, but you go to that site, go to medicine, then go to the school you want, and then admissions, right?

For the couple of schools I looked up the total number of applicants and other information was missing...

Some of the unranked schools don't have stats. Did you try upper tier schools?

Why is NYMC unranked?
From the USNews website:
"Rank Not Published: Rank Not Published means that U.S. News did calculate a numerical ranking for that school/program, but decided for editorial reasons that since the school/program ranked below the U.S. News cutoff that U.S. News would not publish the ranking for that school/program.

U.S. News will supply schools/programs listed as Rank Not Published with their numerical rankings, if they submit a request following the procedures listed in the Information for School Officials.

Schools/programs marked as Ranked Not Published are listed alphabetically. In both research medical schools and primary care medical schools, we have numerically ranked the top three-fourths of the graduate medical schools. The bottom quarter of the research medical schools and primary care medical schools are listed as Rank Not Published and are listed alphabetically.

Unranked: Unranked means that U.S. News did not calculate a numerical ranking for that school or program. The school or program did not supply U.S. News with enough key statistical data to be numerically ranked by U.S. News. Schools or programs marked as Unranked are listed alphabetically and are listed below those marked as Rank Not Published."

NYMC falls under "Rank Not Published" not "Unranked". However take these rankings with a massive dose of salt as their approach is widely criticized both schools ranked both at the top and bottom (someone had a great post about this in the Tulane thread as the school is "Unranked"). However the bottom line with regards to NYMC and it's ranking is that it is not a top-tier school, which you probably already know.

So if you got the KIT email and no hold is that a good thing, generally speaking

I think the evidence overwhelmingly points to the KIT email being sent to everyone, and not receiving the hold email is a good thing, since everyone who's reported an II so far had not gotten the hold email.

Saw the (1) inbox notification pop-up. It was an email confirming that I was able to get student hosting! NYMC is prompt to say the least 🙂

For those who have received completion e-mails: how long did it take you to be complete after AMCAS received your Committee Letters?

Has anyone not received the KIT email at all? My application has been complete for a while but I haven't heard from them since then, and I'm not sure if that's something to worry about or a communications glitch.
I was complete mid-July, same boat as you.

Thought I would throw this out there (and I'll probably re-mention it as time gets closer/more interviews get sent out to all you fabulous people) but anyone who is interviewing on October 23rd, PM me if you want to co-arrange travel plans. I'll probably be flying into LaGuardia on Wednesday, 22 and taking a shuttle/train to the white plains area.

Why did some of us not get the Keep in Touch email then? I've been complete for over a month.
