I was wondering the same thing! I loved this school and my six weeks is coming up... but I would love to hear before Christmas!
 
They got back to me within 6 weeks (just within the timeframe) and told me I was deferred. So I suppose they did respond within 6 weeks but not really. They did that to a bunch of October interviewees
 
I just went back and reread last year's thread. It seemed a good chunk of acceptances (even for us sad and lonely deferees) was released Dec 16, which would mean next week, not this week. As much as I would love to hear this week, I'm not going to count on it 🙂

Yes but the October deferrals happened earlier this year, so I'm hoping the timeline has shifted. I guess we'll find out soon enough. On a different note, this is the 9th week for me....the wait is real.
 
is a deferral basically a delayed rejection? How likely is it for applicants to go from deferred post interview to accepted?

From last year's thread, it's more of a delayed acceptance than a delayed rejection (for most applicants on that thread)
 
I believe someone that heard back interviewed a few days before me. wishing I picked that date nowwww -___-
 
I received the decision via email, and then a couple days later, I received the acceptance in the mail. In the acceptance email, they attach a PDF of your acceptance letter. The hardcopy of that letter is what comes in the mail.

Maybe it was rejections that were sent by just snail mail. Hopefully we hear back before Christmas! Waiting was never my strong suit.

Considering they're a newer school I would expect lots of movement there and it seems like 1 or 2 people at least on this thread get accepted off deferral every time they release a new batch of decisions. Sounds like you're still in the game.

I'm IS and from NEPA so I'm very close to the school.

I was complete here in the first week of september and haven't heard anything. Stats are in line with the school but I'm from CA. Any idea what may happen with my app?
 
Did anyone who interviewed in the last few days of October hear anything? Seems as if people who interviewed in November have started to hear some news.

I interviewed during last week of October but still haven't heard anything. Honestly don't know what to expect at this point.
 
Got the deferral email. Interviewed early November.
 
So I've noticed a pattern here. Deferrals come out the week before acceptances (on a Wednesday). I got deferred on Wed, Nov 12, acceptances came out on Wed, Nov 19. Again this time around, deferrals on Wed, Dec, 10, acceptances on Wed, Dec 17??

No stress or anything😉

I've noticed that same pattern. Last year they gave out deferrals the second Wednesday of December, followed by acceptances the next Wednesday. I was actually sort of relieved to not have heard back yesterday for that reason.

I think this pattern occurs because TCMC takes the time to write out individual acceptance letters which include the specific reasons they want you, so it takes them a while to write them. (I read my friend's from last year)
